Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet David, a 5 year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who weighs in at about 10 lbs.  He is very smart with perfect house manners, and just a well behaved canine companion overall.  David is good around children (over the age of 6 due to his small size) and loves attention from anyone willing to give it.  He thinks that treats from a human’s hand are the best thing in the world!  David has a brother named Goliath that looks just like him, but with Dachshund floppy ears who's also up for adoption.  They get along great but do not have to be adopted together.  As with all our rescue dogs, they're neutered and up to date on their vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention.  Their adoption fee is just $125 each.If one or both of these 'wiener dogs' may be the perfect pets for you please click on the green arrow icon at the top of the page to fill out an online adoption application (no cost or obligation).  Once approved we'll be delighted to set up a time for you to come and visit with them in person.  Thank you for considering one of our rescue pets.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 6, 2026, 12:30 pm

Good with dogs,
Story
Meet Peony —a 3.5-month-old bundle of courage, curiosity, and charm. Peony was found as a stray and brought to the shelter, then given a fresh start when she and her three siblings were pulled to safety during the recent freeze. While she’s still learning that people can be trusted, her constantly wagging tail gives her away—she’s curious, hopeful, and ready to see what kindness looks like. Peony loves the comfort of her siblings, but she stands out as the most confident and brave of the bunch. She’s often the first to step forward, leading the way with her spirited confidence. She’s also a bit mouthy in the vocal sense—she likes to express herself with little noises, and the occasional opinion, which only adds to her charm. And don’t let her small size fool you—there’s a whole lot of personality packed into that little body. With love, patience, and a safe place to land, Peony is sure to blossom into a loyal, joyful companion who brings warmth and light wherever she goes. &#226&#156&#168February 7, 2026, 12:10 pm

Good with dogs,
Story
Meet Lavender —a tiny 3.5-month-old with a big story and an even bigger heart. Lavender was found as a stray and brought to the shelter just in time, then pulled to safety alongside her three siblings during the recent freeze. She’s still learning that people can be kind, but her curiosity is already shining through. Those oversized, radar-ready ears and her gently wagging tail tell you everything you need to know: she wants to trust, she’s just taking her time. Lavender finds confidence in the company of her siblings and would likely feel most at ease in a home with a friendly companion animal to show her the ropes. Once she warms up, you’ll discover that there is so much personality packed into that little body—sweet, observant, and quietly brave. Lavender is the kind of pup who will blossom with patience, love, and a safe place to land. And when she does, she’s going to be something really special. &#226&#156&#168February 7, 2026, 12:10 pm
