Story
Meet Peony —a 4 month-old bundle of courage, curiosity, and charm. Peony was found as a stray and brought to the shelter, then given a fresh start when she and her three siblings were pulled to safety during the recent freeze. While she’s still learning that people can be trusted, her constantly wagging tail gives her away—she’s curious, hopeful, and ready to see what kindness looks like. Peony loves the comfort of her siblings, but she stands out as the most confident and brave of the bunch. She’s often the first to step forward, leading the way with her spirited confidence. She’s also a bit mouthy in the vocal sense—she likes to express herself with little noises, and the occasional opinion, which only adds to her charm. And don’t let her small size fool you—there’s a whole lot of personality packed into that little body. With love, patience, and a safe place to land, Peony is sure to blossom into a loyal, joyful companion who brings warmth and light wherever she goes. ✨April 26, 2026, 9:58 am

Story
Hi, I’m Linus the Kid, a 13 pound Maltese/Dachshund mix with an impressive resume in being adorable. I am about 11 months old, which means I have mastered the art of playtime, perfected the cuddle curl, and still bring that fun puppy energy to every day. I recently came to CAMO Rescue after my family had some major life changes and illness that made it hard for them to keep me. I was very loved, and now I am ready to share all that love with someone new. I am still settling in, but so far I have been told I am a very sweet boy. I hear I get along well with other dogs and even cats, which makes me quite the social gentleman. My favorite hobby is cuddling. If there is a lap nearby, I consider it my personal invitation. If there is no lap, I am happy to help you create one. I am the perfect size for just about everything, small enough to carry, big enough to keep your heart full. Whether we are going for a walk or settling in for a cozy night, I promise to be right by your side, probably leaning into you for extra pets. If you are looking for a loyal little shadow who will make you smile every day and take his cuddle duties very seriously, I think we should meet. My name is Linus, and I am ready to be your favorite hello. Adoption fee is: $500 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. Meet Canelo 🐾 Canelo is an approximately 2-year-old pup weighing in at a perfect 16–17 lbs. He’s house trained, great with other dogs, and rides nicely in the car—making him an easy companion for both home life and adventures. Canelo is a happy, healthy boy with a very sweet nature. He’s already neutered, microchipped, has had a dental cleaning, and received his first round of vaccines. He would do best in a home with another active dog, as he really thrives with a canine companion. If you’re looking for a loving, well-mannered dog to add to your family, Canelo could be the perfect match! 💛 Adoption fee is: $450 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. Story
Hi hi hiiiii! I’m Juju Beans (yes, like the candy… because I’m small, sweet, and slightly addictive) I’m a 5-month-old Maltese/Dachshund mix weighing in at a mighty 8 pounds of fluff, wiggles, and curiosity. I was born in my previous family’s home, so my “designer mix” status is 100% confirmed. My world recently turned upside down when my family had some big life changes and illness, so they made the hard decision to help me find a new forever home. I may be tiny, but I’ve got a big heart and I’m ready to love my next humans with everything I’ve got. Let me tell you a little about me: I am professionally fluffy I specialize in zoomies, toy tossing, and investigating literally everything I believe all laps are made for me I’m working on my puppy manners (I’m still a baby, okay?!) I bring 110% joy, chaos, and cuddles wherever I go I’m going to be a popular girl (I mean… have you seen me?), so my rescue friends are going to be extra picky about where I go. They say it’s not “first come, first served”, it’s “best home ever wins,” and honestly, I agree. I deserve the good life! If you’re ready for puppy energy, endless snuggles, and a tiny shadow who will follow you everywhere… I might just be your girl. Story
DobbyDoo - Dachshund Mix - Male - 3 Years - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet DobbyDoo (Dobby), a house elf looking for his forever home. Dobby was found on the HOV Lane of the Eastex Freeway at Tidwell, heading towards downtown Houston.  He was likely dumped on the freeway by some inhumane muggle!  After posting flyers and online, no owners came forward. Dobby is a sweet little man, probably about 1.5 to 3 years old.  He’s fully house trained, weighs just under 20 lbs., and is likely some sort of dachshund mix—he has a longer body and shorter legs.  He’s got a very short and smooth coat, so minimal shedding. Dobby is understandably cautious of new people, but sweet and friendly once he warms up; he's just not sure that everyone is going to be nice to him!  He would do best if there's someone around regularly and if there’s another dog in the house for him to romp around with.  He doesn’t much like being alone.  He gets along great with other dogs and is tolerant of cats.  He hasn't really been around children, but probably would do well with older kids.  But because he's a bit timid, he might not do well with smaller children. Dobby does great on a leash and loves going for walks.  He's a chatty boy when it's walk time, but is otherwise fairly quiet.  He is a good eater and is quite food-motivated.  He definitely is a people-pleaser and seems pretty trainable.  He's working on learning to "sit" on command, already knows his name, and generally comes when he's called.  He's very playful and will chew shoes if they're left out, but he's not an aggressive chewer and has not done any damage to the shoes he's grabbed.  (Maybe he's just trying to encourage his foster family to put their shoes away!)  He loves to cuddle and lay next to his fosters on the couch in the evenings.  Dobby has had his vaccinations, has been dewormed, and was recently neutered. Unfortunately, he’s heartworm positive, but he has started the slow-kill treatment by getting a Pro-Heart Heartworm shot.  He’s in the very early stages of the infection, has no symptoms, and is otherwise very healthy.  He's also on monthly flea and tick preventative. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
