Story
Running/biking companion. Elderly/children who can throw a ball. Boudin is a good five year old boy with a wire hair mohawk. He doesn’t shed and is house trained. He doesn’t like confined spaces like a bathroom or crate. He currently has a dog door. “Booty” likes other dogs and people, but best of all loves a ball/frisbee. If you would let him he would fetch all day. We believe he is blue heeler and wire hair dachshund. Boudin has daily exercise needs. He loves cuddling and belly scratches. He doesn’t have any allergies or special needs. Doesn’t bark unless provoked. He is currently on Prozac to help with his whining. When we adopted him he was super relaxed which is what we needed for our elderly dog we already have. He’s very obedient and a good natured pet. Loves doing all activities your into.

Story
Doris is a very sweet 13-year old Dachshund who is looking for a home with sunshine to fall asleep in every afternoon. She is very food-oriented and loves treats of all types. If you aren't fixing her meals fast enough, she will tell you to hurry up. Her favorite thing to do is nap in the sunshine, followed closely by napping in the shade, and then bedtime. Meals are also a highlight. She does enjoy going along with the other dogs in the house but recharging her energy in between activities is very important. Doris would enjoy short walks as long as it wasn't too cold, or raining, or snowing. Like all seniors, Doris has a couple of health issues. She has a heart murmur that requires medication twice per day. She can still do stairs if there is enough light to see them but as she gets older, stairs will become. Like most older, small dogs, she is dealing with a collapsing trachea. She can see well enough to get around but prefers proper lighting when navigating new spaces. Most of her teeth are missing now so very small kibble, softened or wet food work best. Her house training needs work. She knows she needs to go outside but doesn't really have a signal other than standing by the back door. She does appear to have been trained to potty pads as long as they are in the right place. She just wants to be in the same room as her people. She prefers to spend her time on a cushy dog bed with a plush blanket and it doesn't matter if you are going to sleep or watching TV or working from home. Are you the family who will love Doris in her golden years? Doris has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm, had a recent dental cleaning with extractions, and is microchipped. Story
Hello there! I am Muffin! I am the cutest little darling that, with your patience, is ready to steal your heart! I am completely bonded with my brother Bagel and we have to be adopted together. I will take a while to warm up to you, but once I know you are my friend and have loves (and treats like lunch meat!) I want to be your friend. My start to life wasn't the best, but I'm hoping someone can see the potential I have with a lot of love and time! I would do best in a home with no kids or older children who know how to respect a dog's space. A home with no cats is preferred.Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Muffin & Bagel's adoption fee together is $325. If you are interested in adopting Muffin & Bagel, or another CAWS animal, please fill out an application here: http://caws.org/adoption-application. Story
Hi! My name is Bagel and I want to find someone to give all of my love away to! I may take a bit to warm up to you, but once I do, I'll be your best velcro dog ever! I like to nudge your open hand for loves if you aren't using both - I love attention that much. I would love a fenced yard to play in with my sister since we both love to get zoomies. I have to be adopted with my sister Muffin because we are both extremely bonded to each other. I would do best in a home with no kids or older children who are respectful of a dog's space. A home with no cats is preferred. I am crate trained and prefer my crate for sleeping and eating as this is my safe space.Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. Story
It wasn’t the plan but it's absolute perfection that Abbie rhymes with happy. This girl is still on the young side, not quiet a puppy, far from being and adult but she sure knows a thing or two. Her current specialty is knowing how to perfectly sit at your feet, make you smile and then fill you up with love. Her happy-go-lucky way is so contagious! With rescue we are often left guessing a dogs age and breed, and that is true with Abbie. We believe she is about 8 months old and is some sort of hound/bully mix. She currently weighs 50lbs and still has some growing to do so you can expect her to grow into a medium/large dog. Every ounce of her is ready for the good life, one with you at the end of her leash, going on hikes, greeting all the people with her. happy face and then heading home for an all our love and cuddle session. Before you fall in love, she does want you to know, her love of stuffies/plushies is real and will be coming with her into adulthood. As long as you are supportive and encouraging of this, she will be the best girl and when you are not available for snuggles she will simply snuggle a love until you are free. We would love to see Abbie in a home with a yard given her youthful energy and love of play. She gets along well with other dogs and absolutely gravitates to the playful ones but truthfully, her love tank could easily be filled by the love of her people. She is a social girl so when you have parties, be ready for all your guests to be enamored with Abbie as she works the room and looks adoringly at each of them. If you have a cat, Abbie promises to be respectful and take it slow. When she met our house cat Tom she was respectfully fearful of him and when she did work up the courage, she retreated quickly when he gave her a swat. We feel confident that she could live harmoniously with a feline friend. Abbie is young and will need continued work on her leash skills and crate training but her attentiveness and desire to please will make training and obedience a breeze. Consistency, a handful of treats and your adoring praise will have this girl ready for anything. Adopt Abbie and get started on those party tricks and making all the best memories together! Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $62 surcharge for transport.
