Story
Small but fast. 30lb Running/biking companion. Elderly/children who can throw a ball. Boudin is a good five year old boy with a wire hair mohawk. He doesn’t shed and is house trained. He doesn’t like confined spaces like a bathroom or crate. He currently has a dog door. “Booty” likes other dogs and people, but best of all loves a ball/frisbee. If you would let him he would fetch all day. We believe he is blue heeler and wire hair dachshund. Boudin has daily exercise needs. He loves cuddling and belly scratches. He doesn’t have any allergies or special needs. Doesn’t bark. He is currently on Trazadone to help with his whining. He’s very obedient and a good natured pet. Loves doing all activities your into.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! I’m Vito, and I'm looking for my forever home! If you’re looking for the sweetest, loviest couch potato around, I’m your guy! I’m an 11-year-old, 30lb dachshund mix and my foster mom says I have the most adorable pot belly. I may be working on my summer bod already  I am truly an incredible boy. I am potty trained, calm, quiet, and can be left out in the house for hours. I’m not destructive and I really just want to follow you around the house all day and be where you are. My favorite spot to be is perched up on top of the couch. I have stubby little legs, so I appreciate the extra height! I am trained, too! I can sit, shake, “sit pretty”, and I do great in a crate if needed. Naps are my favorite thing, but don’t let my age fool you. I still have a LOT of life left! I like to run around and play with stuffies, jump up and down from the couch with ease, explore the yard, and walks are so exciting! I am pretty shy with new people at first, so I take some time to warm up. But once I love you (and it doesn’t take much!) I don’t like to be separated from my humans—but I’m fine if I am. I get along great with all dogs and would be great in a home with other respectful dogs, or also as an only dog. I really am looking for a calm and quiet home where I can continue to get my naps and be your companion. My ideal family would be someone who is home a lot and wants a snuggle buddy! Am I the furry friend for you? Story
Doris is a very sweet 13-year old Dachshund who is looking for a home with sunshine to fall asleep in every afternoon. She is very food-oriented and loves treats of all types. If you aren't fixing her meals fast enough, she will tell you to hurry up. Her favorite thing to do is nap in the sunshine, followed closely by napping in the shade, and then bedtime. Meals are also a highlight. She does enjoy going along with the other dogs in the house but recharging her energy in between activities is very important. Doris would enjoy short walks as long as it wasn't too cold, or raining, or snowing. Like all seniors, Doris has a couple of health issues. She has a heart murmur that requires medication twice per day. She can still do stairs if there is enough light to see them but as she gets older, stairs will become. Like most older, small dogs, she is dealing with a collapsing trachea. She can see well enough to get around but prefers proper lighting when navigating new spaces. Most of her teeth are missing now so very small kibble, softened or wet food work best. Her house training needs work. She knows she needs to go outside but doesn't really have a signal other than standing by the back door. She does appear to have been trained to potty pads as long as they are in the right place. She just wants to be in the same room as her people. She prefers to spend her time on a cushy dog bed with a plush blanket and it doesn't matter if you are going to sleep or watching TV or working from home. Are you the family who will love Doris in her golden years? Doris has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm, had a recent dental cleaning with extractions, and is microchipped. Story
Cindy Lou who!? This Cindy Lou, thats who! A polka-dotted, blue-eyed cutie, with a playful personality and an adoring demeanor. The moment we met her it was obvious what a wonderful personality she has, the good looks are a bonus. Take a look at her cuteness in action then come back to read more. In rescue breed and age are details we cannot guarantee but we estimate Cindy Lou to be 2 years old, possibly a chihuahua mix, and weighs 25 lbs which is her full grown size. What a perfect size! We introduced Cindy Lou to a variety of dogs and she was friendly and playful with them all, from small to large. Cindy Lou absolutely adores people and is friendly from the start. She would do great in a home with other dogs but could also very easily be happy as an only-dog. Feline friends are not in Cindy Lous future though, she isn’t much bigger than a cat but her attempt at meeting our house cat wasn’t welcomed. No cat manners here. That is okay though! She can be your cat/dog and promises plenty of lap-naps. Thanks to her size and personality, Cindy Lou would make a great apartment/condo girlie. Of course if you have a yard, she is ready to explore it! An ideal home looks like a lot of things- she is ready to fit right in! If you have any questions about Cindy Lou or would like us to test her for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life! Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
