Meet Nougat! Fun Fact: Nougat loves tennis balls and will request games of fetch! She's very good about bringing the ball back and dropping it at your feet, even nudging it closer with her nose if you aren't throwing it fast enough. Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge Age: Senior Weight: 13 lbs Health issues: Nougat had several tumors removed on 12/5: two lipomas and one probably cancerous mammary tumor. The tumor was removed entirely, however, this is something the adopter should keep a close eye on for any changes or new growths. She also had hernias in her groin repaired. She was spayed and had a dental cleaning at that time. Her bloodwork and everything else are within normal range. History: Nougat was surrendered along with other dogs due a change in her owner’s life. Foster home: Mequon, WI Activity level: Low, except for ball chasing Friendly with: other dogs, cats, and older, respectful children Sleep style: Nougat prefers to sleep pressed up next to you, under the blankets Meals: 1/3 cup Fromm kibble 2x a day Bark-o-meter: 3/10 Shedding meter: 4/10 Personality: Nougat does not act like a senior. She’s up for whatever you want: a game of fetch, a walk outside or just chilling. Best feature: A tail that never stops wagging Loves: Tennis balls, Sleeping in your bed and stealing cat toys Dislikes: Being Alone. Though she does okay when left alone for a few hours, she will be most happy with someone who is home most of the time and lets her sleep in bed with them. Spayed Microchipped Nougat will potty outside if given frequent breaks and if the weather is favorable, but may also have accidents. Very easy to leash walk Does not need a crate, just a comfy dog bed. Meet Samson! Nickname: Sam, Sammy Fun Fact: Someone forgot to tell Samson he's a dachshund! He loves to go outside and roll around in the snow! Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge Age: Golden Oldie Weight: 15 lbs Health issues: Sammy had back surgery in 2016. He dribbles urine but happily wears a belly band. He is not on any Rx medications but does use D-Mannose urinary support (multiple options online, $15- $25 per month, depending on brand) History: Sammy's owner is getting married so he surrendered his elderly dogs Foster home: Delavan, WI Activity level: Moderate Friendly with: Friendly with: Adults and respectful older children (12 and up, please!). He is quite particular about other dogs, and would likely benefit from being an only dog. Cats are an unknown. Sleep style: Sammy will sleep in his own bed but he really would like to sleep cuddled up next to his owner underneath the covers. Sammy is a true Dachshund and that he loves to cuddle underneath covers. Meals: Sammy eats freeze dried breakfast and frozen for dinner. He loves liver treats for snacks, a good bully stick, or a no-hide bone Bark-o-meter: 1/10 Shedding meter: 1/10 Fashion: blue plaid belly bands (AKA "man pants") Walk out song: “Tub Thumping" by Chumbawamba. "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down" Favorite season: Samson loves the winter, someone forgot to tell him that dachshunds are not supposed to like the snow! Personality: Resilient, playful, loving, cuddly, sweet, funny Best feature: His super soft fur, his resilient nature, and his sweetness Signature Move: walking in a doggy treadmill while I wait for dinner (if only we were all so disciplined!) Love Language: cuddles and no one messing with his bones. Loves: Snow play time! Do you want to build a snowman with me? Bucket list: Learning to use the internet and your credit card. He thinks Amazon would be a super idea! Sammy is a really great kid and he's very sweet as soon as his foster mama met him he was giving kisses. He's a fun sweet dog just needs the right home that doesn't mind him wearing pants! He guards his bones, but not his food, and hoards his toys. He just needs other dogs to allow him his space..... and his stuffies. Neutered Microchipped Housebroken, but does dribble a bit from his IVDD (the reason for the surgery in '16) Good on leash, but he likes to meander and assumes you want to follow. Meet Mikey! Nickname: Sally O'Malley "I'm proud to say I'm 50 years old. I'm not one of those gals who's afraid to hide her age unlike some of those other gals, and I like to kick, stretch, and kick. I'm 50, 50 years old" Fun Fact: Mikey enjoys being outside for a little bit, But get your shovel ready, because his precious tootsies don't want to touch snow. YUCK. Age: Golden Oldie. I may be an antique, but I am FABULOUS. Weight: 13 lbs Health issues: I can't see very well, and I can't hear very well. That's ok, my nose works fine, so I can find my dish, and I really didn't want to listen to you anyway. I'm a dog, not your unpaid therapist. History: Mikey was in and out of shelters for years due to his previous owner's health issues. She surrendered him recently and he made his way to us to help him find his final chapter. Foster home: Oregon, WI Activity level: Low Friendly with: Adults and respectful older children. I am curious about other dogs and cats, but am too busy snoozing to really do much socializing. Sleep style: I love a fluffy dog bed and lots of blankies. I totally enjoy burrowing under them for naps. Meals: Small batch freeze dried (rehydrated) and if you can spare any bacon treats, I am all about it! Bark-o-meter: 2/10 (I bark a little bit as I settle down to sleep) Shedding meter: 2/10 Fashion: I think I would like a Gatsby-esque suit and a fedora. His previous owner said he was about 18 years old, but he acts younger. He has a cyst on his side that does not seem to be problematic, and will be left alone. Neutered Microchipped Housebroken, but sometimes he forgets. It might be a new house thing too. Good on leash, but he likes to meander and assumes you want to follow.
