Story
Meet Piggy 🐾 Piggy is an adorable dachshund puppy who came to us from Ozarks Pet Rescue, and she is full of charm, personality, and puppy wiggles. With her long body, tiny legs, and big curious eyes, she’s already stealing hearts everywhere she goes. Like any dachshund, Piggy is brave, curious, and just a little bit sassy in the cutest way. She loves to explore, follow her nose, and investigate anything she thinks might involve snacks, toys, or fun. When she’s not on an adventure, she’s all about snuggles—preferably tucked right into a cozy lap or blanket. Piggy is at the perfect age to learn and grow with her forever family. She’ll thrive in a home ready to guide her with patience, consistency, and lots of positive reinforcement as she learns her puppy manners. She’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly, and she’s ready to bring a whole lot of joy (and a little bit of mischief) into her new home. If you’re looking for a tiny best friend with a huge personality, Piggy might just be your perfect match! Piggy is available for foster to adopt within 30 minutes of our shelter while we complete her medical. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
Meet Dredge, an adorable dachshund puppy with a unique perspective on the world and a whole lot of love to give. He came to us from Ozarks Pet Rescue and is now searching for a special home that’s ready to help him thrive. Dredge is a happy, curious little pup who enjoys exploring his surroundings in his own way. We believe he may be blind, though he may be able to see shadows or light, and he is also deaf. Because of this, he relies on his other senses—like smell and touch—to guide him, and he’s already learning how to navigate the world with impressive determination. Despite his sensory challenges, Dredge is full of puppy energy and affection. He loves attention, enjoys playtime, and settles in nicely with a cozy place to rest after a day of adventures. With patience, consistency, and a safe environment, he will continue to build confidence and learn new routines. Dredge would do best with a family willing to support his needs and help him feel secure as he grows. His journey may look a little different, but the love, joy, and resilience he brings are truly something special. If you’re ready to welcome a one-of-a-kind companion, Dredge might be the perfect fit for your home. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
Meet Bozo- Bozo is a spunky little dachshund with a big personality packed into a tiny, wiggly body. Rescued from Ozarks Pet Rescue, he’s already proven himself to be a survivor with a heart full of love and curiosity. With his long body, floppy ears, and bright, mischievous eyes, Bozo has a way of charming everyone he meets. He’s equal parts cuddle bug and explorer—always ready to burrow under a blanket for a nap or trot around on a mission to investigate every corner of his new home. Bozo is learning the ropes of puppy life, from mastering playtime to discovering the joys of treats and belly rubs. Though he may be small, Bozo’s spirit is anything but. He brings laughter, warmth, and just the right amount of chaos to his family every day, and his journey from rescue pup to beloved companion is just getting started. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Story
Meet Dia, a sweet dachshund mix with a gentle heart and a shy but loving personality. She came to us from Ozarks Pet Rescue and is now looking for a calm, understanding home where she can continue to build her confidence. Dia can be a bit nervous when faced with new people or environments, so she prefers to take things slow and get to know you on her own terms. But beneath that initial shyness is a truly kind and affectionate dog who forms strong bonds with those she trusts. Once she feels safe, she enjoys quiet companionship, cozy spots to relax, and the comfort of being near her people. Because of her sensitive nature, Dia would do best in a patient home that can provide consistency and reassurance. We believe she would do well with patient and respectful kids who understand how to give her space and let her come out of her shell at her own pace. Dia may take a little extra time to adjust, but the love and loyalty she gives in return make it more than worth it. If you’re looking for a quiet, devoted companion, Dia might just be your perfect match. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Story
About Me: Name: Scooter Breed (or best guess): Mini Dachshund or mix Approximate Age: Young Adult Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 13 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving family Why In Rescue: Texas transfer Profile:   Scooter came to us from Texas so he would have a better chance at finding a home.  He is a happy and active boy who has been neutered and is updated on his medical care.  He came with some friends but is ready for a home of his own.  Now he just needs a home.  We do not have a background or history about him, so don't know if he lived with children or with other pets.  If interested please fill out the pre-adoption application and we can arrange a meet to see if he is the right match for your family. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS April 11, 2026, 6:42 pm

Story
Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs! To sponsor my trip to WI, go to  www.tailwaggers911.com  for more info!   ***I am able to go home to my forever family soon!! You get a 5 day trial with me in your home. Put in your application soon!*** Please help me get out! I am currently in a place where there are lots of unwanted dogs and not all of us here get the chance I might have to leave! But in order to help me out of here to catch the ride to WI on May 1st and arrive on May 2nd, I need *both* a sponsor, and a WI foster home *or* a WI adopter! I have a place for now, but I can't stay here forever and I am worried. The rescue has put a hold on me to save my spot on the trip up north to WI, but now they need YOUR help to get me there - don't wait!!! Updated: 3/28/26 Dog Name: Fozzie Bear Sex: Male Estimated Breed: Dachshund/Terrier Mix Approximate Age: 11 weeks Litter Name: The Muppets Approximate Weight: 5-8 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Not yet (too young) Description: Fozzie Bear and his siblings were an unwanted litter who needed a hero. Our Tx rescue partners stepped up to get these sweethearts into a wonderful foster home where they could play and grown and learn to be the best little puppies! These babies are so soft and just adorable!! These babies are just sweet and play so well together, they will melt your heart! Their personalities are developing and they are learning so much in foster! Adoption Fee: $650We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. April 15, 2026, 12:56 am
