Story
Meet Beauty 🐾 Beauty is an adorable 8-month-old Catahoula Leopard Dog who is looking for a family ready to help her become the amazing companion she is meant to be. Beauty came to the shelter as an owner surrender after her family welcomed a new baby. Through no fault of her own, this young girl suddenly found herself in a shelter environment without the time, space, or outlet she needs for all that puppy energy. And if there’s one thing Beauty has plenty of, it’s energy! At heart, Beauty is a good girl who is still learning how to be a dog in a very overwhelming environment. When she gets excited, she can become wound up and mouthy, which is not unusual for a young, energetic working-breed dog. She needs someone who understands that she isn’t a finished product yet and is willing to give her the guidance, structure, exercise, and training she needs to mature into a wonderful adult dog. Catahoulas are intelligent, athletic working dogs that were bred to think, work, and stay busy. They tend to thrive when they have a job to do, plenty of physical activity, and opportunities to use their minds. Beauty is likely to do best with an adopter who enjoys an active lifestyle and is excited to continue working on basic manners and training. Positive-reinforcement training, interactive games, enrichment, walks, and activities that challenge her mentally could go a long way toward helping this energetic girl learn how to settle and make good choices. Beauty doesn't need someone expecting a perfectly behaved dog from day one. She needs someone willing to invest in her. With patience, consistency, boundaries, exercise, and training, this young Catahoula has so much potential. Behind all that puppy energy is a sweet girl who deserves the chance to grow up in a home where she is understood, given an outlet for her energy, and taught the skills she needs to succeed. Beauty is still a puppy. She is still learning. And she is ready for someone who will take that journey with her. ❤️ Could you be the person who gives Beauty the active, structured, loving home she needs?
