Adopters applying for Maggie wants a pretty, fun and easy big dog. But Maggie is infact a full-sized Chihuahua. There is nothing wrong with this sweetheart - she LOVES other dogs, is completely potty trained, healthy, active and fun. Maggie just doesn't want to be touched until you've known each other for QUITE a while. And even then, a snarl might come out of nowhere. She is happy and content at the shelter, but will easily adapt to your household of active dogs and hands-off owners. Been around a grumpy cat before? Chihuahuas? Pekingese? Why do we as a society understand that small dogs can be delicate to handle, yet we require big dogs to allow all handling all the time? Maggie is special, but not overwhelming. She is extremely rewarding to interact with, although touch is not her love language! Included in the adoption fee of $275 is up to date vet care, microchip, vaccines, dewormer. Hey my name is Bailey, and I am a handsome boy looking for my forever family. I have been an anxious guy in the past, so I need a bit of time to adjust to new people and things sometimes. But lucky for me, I am in an incredible foster home! I am described by my foster family as a happy, playful, fantastic guy, and my nervousness has significantly diminished now that I am comfortable. I have a doggie best friend around my age, and we have an awesome time playing and spending time together. I am also a very polite roommate with my foster family`s cats, who I mostly leave to their own devices. This is from River’s foster mom….. Over the past few weeks, River has blended right into life with my “Pasta Pup Pack” on our eight-acre property, and watching him blossom has been incredible. This scruffy little black sweetheart has the cutest underbite you’ve ever seen and a personality that’s even cuter. River is a dog’s dog. He absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. He spends his days running wooded trails, wrestling, chasing, and playing with my three dogs. He’s wonderful at reading other dogs’ cues, and if one tells him to settle down, he takes the correction like a champ and keeps right on having fun. He has also lived with cats, so we think he’d do well with feline siblings too. One of River’s best qualities is how well he matches your energy. Want to spend the day hiking, exploring, or playing fetch? He’s ready. Prefer a lazy afternoon on the couch? He’ll happily curl up beside you with his favorite stuffed toy and soak up all the cuddles. Speaking of stuffed toys…River almost always has one proudly carried around in his mouth. Watching him parade around with his little “lovey” is enough to make anyone smile. He’s potty trained, crate trained, knows “sit,” is working on “stay,” and has done wonderfully in our home. He’s curious and playful with a little puppy energy, but he’s eager to learn and responds beautifully to gentle guidance. River loves people, too. New men might get a few minutes of cautious observation, but before long he’s rolling over for belly rubs. My husband and dad are completely smitten with him…and it’s easy to see why. We don’t expect River to get much bigger, making him the perfect compact adventure buddy. River’s dream home? 🐾 Another playful dog to be his best friend. 🐾 A fenced yard or safe place to run and explore. 🐾 A family that enjoys adventures but also appreciates cozy movie nights on the couch. River is sweet, goofy, affectionate, and full of personality. He’s the kind of dog who quietly works his way into your heart before you even realize it’s happened. I truly adore this little guy. If I didn’t already have my own crew and a promise to keep fostering dogs like him, River wouldn’t be looking for another home. Now let’s find this amazing boy the family he’s been waiting for. ❤️ River is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his age-appropriate vaccinations, and ready to start his next adventure with you!
