Story
Maggie!? How come a gorgeous girl like you haven't gotten adopted yet? Well - the fact that Maggie is a gorgeous (non-pitbull) dog is part of the problem! Adopters applying for Maggie wants a pretty, fun and easy big dog. But Maggie is infact a full-sized Chihuahua. There is nothing wrong with this sweetheart - she LOVES other dogs, is completely potty trained, healthy, active and fun. Maggie just doesn't want to be touched until you've known each other for QUITE a while. And even then, a snarl might come out of nowhere. She is happy and content at the shelter, but will easily adapt to your household of active dogs and hands-off owners. Been around a grumpy cat before? Chihuahuas? Pekingese? Why do we as a society understand that small dogs can be delicate to handle, yet we require big dogs to allow all handling all the time? Maggie is special, but not overwhelming. She is extremely rewarding to interact with, although touch is not her love language! Included in the adoption fee of $275 is up to date vet care, microchip, vaccines, dewormer. She is spayed and ready for meet and greets! Apply to foster-to-adopt Maggie, we will be there for you the whole way: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
Hey my name is Bailey, and I am a handsome boy looking for my forever family. I have been an anxious guy in the past, so I need a bit of time to adjust to new people and things sometimes. But lucky for me, I am in an incredible foster home! I am described by my foster family as a happy, playful, fantastic guy, and my nervousness has significantly diminished now that I am comfortable. I have a doggie best friend around my age, and we have an awesome time playing and spending time together. I am also a very polite roommate with my foster family`s cats, who I mostly leave to their own devices. Due to my history and personality, I would do best in a home with children over 12, and I have been friendly and calm with teenagers. I hope I might be the best doggie for you. Please reach out to my friends at the adoptions desk to see about next steps for meeting with me!Bailey is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!Tags: #gh

Story
Make your new best friend into family with this gorgeous, spirited mutt. He has the best of everything - sweet nature, loves people and other dogs, faithful companion and energetic playmate. Dudley was an owner surrender after human medical issues and just needs an active family where he might have another young dog and/or kids to play with. Dudley is a tall and lean boy with beautiful Catahoula Leopard markings, a long but smooth coat, and is well behaved for grooming. He is highly food-motivated. He travels well and enjoys outings to the dog park, pet store, or walking the trails where everyone loves his goofy smile. This boy is already housebroken and knows basic commands, having lived all his life in a family. Although Dudley is crate-trained, he might become bored and destructive (toys and bedding only) if left alone and confined for long periods in a crate. Need a jogging partner? He is looking for an active home where he can walk and play several times a day. If you are looking for a strong and loyal canine companion to spend the next decade with, you can't do better than this boy!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Newton came to FOCCAS with his brother and sister. He is still a little bit timid, but is getting braver all the time. He is excited to go for walks, but nervous about getting a leash put on him. He is learning to walk using a gentle leader since he is a strong boy. He does like to roll over for belly rubs and is treat motivated. He does take treats very gently. He would like to be a buddy to someone who will continue to work with him on his training.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN.
