Story
Koda was a surrender from another local rescue. He is deaf but has been doing great learning sign language. He loves his foster buddies and plays great with both the tiny puppies and the big rough dogs. Koda has adjusted great to living inside and with a doggy door is completely housetrained. He is not chewing up shoes or phones cords or anything like that. Koda is a puppy but doesn't have that seek and destroy puppy vibe. He loves to take walks and would be a wonderful companion for outdoor activities or he can be just as comfortable laying beside you on the couch. Special needs dogs are the best dogs for anyone wanting to really feel like they saved one that needs it the most. Koda lives in his foster home with 22 fosters and his foster dad says he is a "stand out". FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Koda's adoption fee is $275. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. If transport is needed, there are additional fees to cover department of agriculture requirements and transport, the additional fee adds $300 to the adoption fee (any location out of Tennessee, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions)Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to your browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41LOCATED IN CROSSVILLE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN. Story
Luna has been a deeply loved member of our family for nearly 12 years. We acquired her as a young dog & she has grown up alongside us, bringing years of loyalty, companionship, and calm presence to our home. As she is aging, her needs are changing and she requires more individualized attention, quiet time, and monitoring than we are able to consistently provide at this stage of our family’s life. We currently have two small children at home, and despite our love and best intentions, we recognize that her quality of life would be better supported in a home with more time, space, and flexibility to focus on her. Recently, she was evaluated by our veterinarian for a mass on her leg. At this time, it is being monitored. Due to concerns about how well she would tolerate a procedure, we have chosen to delay intervention and continue veterinary guidance. She is gentle, loyal, calm, and affectionate. She does best in a quieter environment and would thrive with someone who can give her the ext

Story
Cooper is a 4-year-old Kelpie mix with a gentle, thoughtful spirit who just needed time to feel safe. When he first arrived in his foster home, it was clear he hadn’t had much (if any) socialization with people or everyday life inside a home. Regular household sounds, movement, even the TV were overwhelming. His crate became his safe place, and he would choose to go there often just to feel secure. With patience and consistency, Cooper has slowly blossomed. Now he spends most of his day resting calmly on the couch or laying in the kitchen while meals are being made. He used to be nervous in the car, but now he gets excited to go for rides. He didn’t understand treats at first, but now he joyfully pops up on his hind legs to ask for one. Cooper does very well with dogs of all sizes and is respectful of cats. He is crate trained and doing well with potty training—he hasn’t had an accident in the house in about a week. Though he is around 4 years old, he still has a bit of youthful playfulness in him. He loves belly rubs, gentle massages, chewing on toys, and watching the world go by from the cat perch. On walks, he is calm, rarely pulls, and often looks back to “check in” with his person—he truly wants to do things right. Because unpredictable movement can still make him nervous, Cooper would do best in a calm home without young children. He needs someone who can offer patience, steadiness, and understanding. Cooper has already come so far. With a loving, reassuring person by his side, he will continue to open up and become the loyal, tender, devoted companion he is meant to be.
