Outdoors, he enjoys running and playing and has great energy when given space to exercise. He is loyal, attentive, and easygoing, and he listens well. He would do best in a home that will give him love, companionship, and regular outdoor time. He thrives with positive interaction and enjoys being part of everyday family life.

Charlotte is a 6 1/2-year-old, 59-pound Doberman mix with the most stunning brown eyes—one even has a speck of light blue! She’s playful, loves a good game of fetch, and is still learning how to share her toys. She walks well on a harness and adores her humans, making her a wonderful companion for families, including those with kids. Charlotte enjoys sunbathing, takes her beauty sleep seriously, and loves snuggling up next to you on the couch and bed. She is used to sleeping in the human bed with her person so we want that to continue for her. She’s also a great travel buddy—she enjoys car rides and is always up for an adventure! She’s smart, knows “sit” and “paw,” and has a soft, beautiful coat that’s perfect for petting. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and ready for her forever home. However, she has a strong chase instinct and needs a cat-free home. She does need another dog in the home otherwise she gets separation anxiety. She will need to be fed separately from another dog because she quickly gobbles hers down and wants to eat the other dog's food. We are requiring a secure fenced-in yard for her. If you’re looking for a loving, playful and loyal pup, Charlotte is ready to be your new best friend! Story
We adopted Walter from a shelter in 2021. They told us he was a year old, so he'll be 6 this year, although we have no idea when his birthday would be. He is a reactive dog. He growls/barks/etc. because he is scared of people. He was like this when we adopted him, which wasn't an issue because it was just us. We slowly earned his trust. We have had two children since then, and we are worried he might bite one of them because they do not understand not to bother him. His ideal owner would be a single person or a couple that is willing to get to know him and earn his trust, or someone who has experience with reactive dogs. We were told we should put him down. They called it behavioral euthanasia. He doesn't deserve that. He's never bitten anyone, but that's largely due to us being careful and lessening his triggers. He's not aggressive, he just takes time to warm up and he needs socialization. He needs an understanding owner that does not have young children.
