Story
Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/UNgh6IvlV8U?si=i-Q9xYtOpNeCRWga Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes XL crate fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Adoption Fee reflects the need for an XL crate at travel. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.

Story
*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Bambi is a sweet 1 year old mix who loves to go on walks and is hoping for a family that will give him lots of belly rubs.  Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##2071710##

Story
Meet Daisy Ann Marie 🌼 7 months old, and approximately 97% cuddles, 3% pure silliness. Daisy is a tiny little love nugget with long legs, soft wrinkles, and the cutest smile you’ve ever seen on a puppy. She’s a stunning black-and-reddish girl (maybe Doberman/Shepherd, maybe just ✨perfect✨) with a magical little sliver of blue in one eye that makes everyone stop mid-sentence and go, “WAIT… her EYE 😍.” Her face has all these adorable squishy wrinkles, and when she smiles? Game over. See her Puppy love firsthand in her video! https://youtu.be/b9QKiUvUCzQ?si=l9psXAo9c-xoqbnF This girl does not just like affection, she fully commits to it. Daisy will walk right up to you and melt her whole body into yours like she’s trying to become one with your soul. She gives the gentlest baby kisses, snuggles like a professional, and believes personal space is a myth. If you sit down, congratulations, you now have a Daisy. Daisy is still a baby and can be a little unsure at first, mostly because she’s very attached to her people. Once she realizes you’re safe, though, her goofy side comes out fast. Expect wiggles, happy hops, clumsy puppy play bows, and that classic “I don’t know what I’m doing but I’m having fun” energy. With other dogs, Daisy is a certified sweet potato. She’s very submissive, friendly, and wants everyone to be her friend. She tries to play with just about anyone and does best with other playful-but-gentle dogs who invite her into the fun without overwhelming her. She doesn’t need another dog, but having a doggy bestie would make her heart very happy and help her confidence grow. And yes! Daisy lives with cats! She thinks they’re fascinating little creatures and greets them with full-body wiggles. She does best with cats who don’t mess with her too much (no curtain-jumping jump scares, please), and if a cat is chill, Daisy is chill right back. On leash, Daisy is an absolute dream. She doesn’t pull at all, making her a perfect walking buddy for anyone who appreciates a calm stroll. She even does this adorable little flip move when she’s on the leash — it’s impossible not to smile! Daisy rides wonderfully in the car (front seat or back!) and is crate trained, sleeping through the night like a champ. She might whine a bit if she has FOMO, but that’s just because she loves being close to her people and friends. She’s also in the process of potty training and learning fast thanks to her eager-to-please attitude. Inside the home, Daisy is surprisingly calm once she settles. She’s kennel trained, potty trained, and loves cozy naps after playtime. She may attempt a little snack theft if a food bowl is left unattended (puppy logic), but honestly, can you blame her? Daisy would do great in an apartment or a house, as long as she gets her daily walks, chances to zoom around, and time to be a puppy. She loves to run, play, sniff, then immediately come inside and collapse into a cuddle puddle. If you’re looking for a goofy, snuggly, gentle puppy who will stick to you like Velcro, steal your heart, and possibly your spot on the couch, Daisy Ann Marie is ready to wiggle her way into your life 🌼 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? She prefers action movies to romantic comedies. Jumping into a pond or climbing a mountain is more entertaining than shopping. Our city girl was found as a stray near the airport. Fostered in the country and enjoying the freedoms of rural living. She’s been exposed to horses, chickens. She appears to be a Doberman mix with a docked tail and course coat. About 5 years old and 50 lbs. Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, on prevention. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. She did not have a microchip and after weeks of social media postings, we do not suspect anyone is looking for her - a Doberman loving family got her to rescue. She tested positive for hookworms and heartworms; treated now testing negative. Her body has clearly had puppies before and she has scars on her head, front teeth worn down (common finding for dogs chewing chains or rocks) Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/9YmOfCchEWc?feature=shared

Story
Chico Diablo - is a stunning black and tan Doberman with cropped ears and a docked tail. He is lean, muscular and athletic - enjoys playing with balls and being outside. He will bark at noises, alarms/sirens and people outside of his property. He is affectionate with his foster family and clingy, pushes for attention and affection. Crate trained and sleeps in a crate overnight. Chico is leash trained and knows basic commands. Chico responds to verbal commands. This sweet and spicy Doberman is a family pet and will thrive in the right home. He wants affection, is house trained, crate trained, leash trained and enjoys a fenced in yard to exercise. A home with another dog (medium to large, female) would be comforting to Chico but not necessary. Video(s) https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1BPbijPQYh/ https://youtube.com/shorts/oOiOR44tgjM?si=plepzXeU9X5Uk1A8 Chico came to rescue with some baggage; he was grieving a lost home and confused at the shelter. Shelter staff noted he was 'nippy' and would avoid being petted. Chico uses his teeth without puncturing skin to ask for space when his collar was grabbed. Rescue agreed to give him time to decompress in a home, in his own space (crate) and with slow intros (every dog needs this!). Chico was walked out of the shelter, leaned on his foster and responded to verbal commands. We noted he would snap when his collar was pulled - a sign to us in our experience that abusive handling or improper use of a prong collar was applied on him. We moved him to secure fitted tactical collar and started working with him on touching his neck, pulling gently on the collar and reaching for the collar. Chico is trusting of people but would need confident owners to create boundaries for his safety (no board and training, muzzle during vet visits for strangers to poke him, mindful of who is around). Due to Chico's reactivity to being pull/grabbed by the collar - we do not recommend a home with small children. Chico is being self-protective and not aggressive in his reaction, but we do not want a child harmed or afraid of him. Chico is sensitive to yelling and not a dominate personality. Chico is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm treated and on prevention. Now at a healthy weight, shiny coat and food motivated. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email with Questions or for Adoption Application - Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org Adoption Application LINK: https://forms.gle/33ciYyXPTL18FfnV6 --------------------------------------------------- See more Photos, Videos and Updates on Social Media Facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX Instagram @CaffeinatedCanineRescue --------------------------------------------------- Chico was surrendered with another Doberman to a shelter after his family died. We quickly learned that the two male Dobermans did not like each other and were separated (both tagged and brought to rescue). Chico was fearful at first, barks and protects himself by backing up and growling. He was given time to decompress, trust and see the routine (crated in a bedroom for quiet, led by a leash to the backyard). Chico was paired up to a young male shepherd, confident female dogs for playtime. He will "fence fight" (run up to a barrier to growl/bark/push) another male - without barrier, he will back down and not engage but continue to growl and bark. Due to this repeated reaction to other larger male dogs, we do not recommend dog parks or a home with another male. He is submissive/gentle and playful with female dogs. Due to stress, Chico was underweight when he came to rescue. Not tested with cats or small animals.

Story
Dominic started the summer couch surfing or patio lounging - no microchip, no collar and not recognized by local families. He is guessed to be 4 years old and loves everyone! He gets along with other dogs, other big males and small dogs too. He is crate trained, now neutered, heartworm treated and on prevention. Dominic is black and tan, docked tail and floppy natural Doberman ears. He last weighted in at 68 lbs and enjoys running the yard at this foster home. He is around children and has never met a stranger, quiet and not a good guard or alert dog - Dominic is here for the PARTY, like a college kid, not currently seeking a job just hoping to get along by his good looks and muscles. ...He will chase a cat, obsess over the cat's whereabouts so a home without one might be best. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes transport options to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email to Apply! He was immediately friendly to everyone he encountered. He and Dustin lounged around on pool patios and waited for someone to find them a foster home.
