Story
Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/UNgh6IvlV8U?si=i-Q9xYtOpNeCRWga Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes XL crate fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Adoption Fee reflects the need for an XL crate at travel. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.

Story
Elsa is Miss Independent and sassy with other dogs. Confident to push her brother, Elf out of the food bowl - she was the 'mighty mouse' of her group. She follows dogs around and is curious about what's happening, willing to go off and explore alone. She sleeps on a pillow and likes to chew on hard ropes and bones. Elsa rolls over for belly rubs and when held, will use her charm to lick your nose. Elsa will need more one-on-one to bond with people and seek out holding, petting. She trusts and knows her foster family. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email with Questions or for Adoption Application - Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org Adoption Application LINK: https://forms.gle/33ciYyXPTL18FfnV6 HER-STORY: From 8 weeks to 12 weeks; Elsa was in a foster home being Quarantined (no outside, no other dogs) to address persistent intestinal worms, upper respiratory infection and low body weight. Elsa did well eating and after rounds of medication, gained weight and started to thrive. She and her littermates then started meeting new [vaccinated] adult dogs to play with. House training is slow due to the initial quarantine (play pen in a designated room of a foster home); the puppies lived outside covered in fleas without shelter when ACO found them. Adopters should have supervised outside time to reinforce potty training without the puppy feeling abandoned. DUE TO AGE and medical care (Quarantine, repeat parvo testing, Medicine) the puppy adoption fee applies to this pet. Elsa is guessed to be 14 weeks old. -She is Spayed and on prevention. She is a black with tan markings, Elsa has black marks on the top side of her paws. Her tail has been docked and appears to be a ‘home’ job. Rescue does not do DNA / genetic testing. CCR will not crop ears. --------------------------------------------------- See more Photos, Videos and Updates on Social Media Facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX Instagram @CaffeinatedCanineRescue --------------------------------------------------- Animal Control conducted a cruelty investigation on a property and found multiple sets of Doberman litters, various ages. CCR took care of all 8 Dobermans removed from the home. Elf and Elsa were the youngest (both blacks, about 8 weeks when brought to rescue). These puppies were clearly not handled as babies. They ran from people, hid under furniture. Doberman puppies can and will socialize to people, being held and bond even if ignored as babies. They are held by our fosters - fed by hand and given medication orally, held for nail trims. They did not growl or resist being held, just not as needy as typical dobie puppies who want to be carried like babies. Fostering Saved These Puppies Lives. The Shelter could not provide the medical care the babies required. INTAKE VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/voZpYVmWhYI?si=oJ9sK7WtxnneonWF

Story
Elf freezes and tries not to move when attention is put on him, we know he plays with toys and helps make a mess in the water dish, but he's not been caught in action yet. Elf is a shy baby. He enjoys napping on pillows or dog beds, playing with any toy that squeaks or has a crunchy sound. Elf follows the other dogs and explores as far as his siblings go. He looks for and perks up when he sees dogs. He is being socialized with various dogs in his foster home. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Adopters should have supervised outside time to reinforce potty training without the puppy feeling abandoned. Elf had an extensive exam with X Rays on 12-15-25 which revealed no abnormalities. He had been constipated and as the RUNT of the group, his foster was concerned. Elf does have HUGE paws and as he has grown, he appears a bit bow-legged. DUE TO AGE and medical care (Quarantine, repeat parvo testing, X-Rays, Medicine) the puppy adoption fee applies to this pet. Elf is guessed to be 14 weeks old. Neuter includes corrective surgery of umbilical hernia. We have not done DNA testing. CCR will not crop ears. Story
*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Bambi is a sweet 1 year old mix who loves to go on walks and is hoping for a family that will give him lots of belly rubs.  Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##2071710##

Story
Ms. Dixie Hart is the sweetest dog! She has taken in the dogs around her to give comfort, confidence and guidance. She was found with other dogs in Kerr County roaming an area just before a devastating flood. She trusts people and learned her routines, crating and coming to commands. Dixie was clearly a mama dog who has had a rough life - her ears are uneven and cut off (an attempt at cropped ears) and she has a docked tail. Her coat is course and appears to be a result of poor breeding. She is majority Doberman in her appearance (59 lbs and a bit stocky). Guessed to be 5-6 years old. She is house trained and stays Quietly on a dog bed enjoying the comforts of being a house dog now. She deserves a family to give kisses and keep her heart company. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes transport options to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email to Apply!
