WE HOLD ADOPTIONS ON SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS FROM 10-4 PM at our Adoption Center. Our adoption center is located next to CAL Ranch at 232 North Jones (I-95) Suite 170. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY, just walk right in.
Hi, I’m Smokey! I was born sometime around the end of December 2024, which means I’m still just a pup—I very much still have puppy tendencies but I’ve already learned so much about being a good boy.
I’m a Doberman mix (yep, my coat is as beautiful as it looks), and I’m gonna be a big guy when I grow up. I LOVE playing with other dogs, squeaky toys, sunbathing, and watching the birds do their thing in the yard. I’m housebroken (thank you, dog door!), love car rides, and when I’m ready for bed each night, I crawl into my spot and call it a day. As long as I have a snuggly and cozy bed, I sleep through the night and prefer my own space over sharing with the humans in their bed. In the mornings though? I’m all about cuddles in the bed.
When I was younger, I had something called puppy strangles—sounds rough, right? But don’t worry! I’ve been given the all-clear by my vet, and my fur is filling in beautifully (I still have a few bald spots around my muzzle but they should fill in soon). It doesn’t bother me one bit, and it won’t slow me down.
I’m working on my leash skills, and I’m eager to learn—especially if you have treats. I’m a fast learner and know a few basic commands. I’d love a forever home with a playful, patient dog sibling to keep me company and show me the ropes. If there are kids, I’d do best with older, mature, dog-savvy ones who understand I’m still learning.

A Path 4 Paws holds adoption events at our Adoptions Center, located at 232 N. Jones Blvd, Suite 170 right next to CAL Ranch (North Jones/ I-95). Please bring your dog(s) for a meet and greet (if applicable) Please bring your entire family so everyone can meet.
If you are interested in Smokey, please contact dogrescuelv@hotmail.com to confirm the dog you are interested in, will be attending that particular event. We have limited space at the store, therefore we can not take every dog out to the event.
This pet comes with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org . You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours, Monday-Friday.
This pet is spayed/neutered, has current vaccinations and includes a microchip, deworming and 2 free vet visits, including a Healthy Start Certificate with the VCA Hospitals with a $250 health credit (restrictions apply). Adoption fee applies.
