Story
Mariska (pronounced muh-rish-kuh), named after the Mariska Hargitay, is a very special member of our family. We adopted her from our local shelter 2 years ago when she was 7 weeks old. She brought joy back into our home at a time we most needed a friend. She does have her challenges. She can be anxious, hyper vigilant, vocal, and jealous at times. But more so, she is beautiful, loving, loyal, smart, protective and playful with a strong personality. We wish so badly we could keep her forever like we intended but we recently had a baby and unfortunately, Mariska does not do well with small children.She loves to run, hike, swim, do tricks, fetch, and play with other dogs so she’d do best in an environment where she gets to be active daily. She loves a good chew or toy when hanging out at home. We cherish Mariska and really just want her in a home that can show her as much love as we do.

He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle.
