Story
Ledyba (named after the Pokémon; often shorted to 'Ledy') is my 9YO’s favorite of the puppies because she’s a fantastic cuddler and would curl up with him while he reads all day. She can be very timid to start, but once she’s settled in she’s right there with you, ready to curl up while you work or rest. She’s great on a leash, but sometimes new sounds can trigger a freeze response. Patience has been key in helping her move forward, and her confidence grows every day. She often “checks-in” on a walk, happy to be going on an adventure with you, and my younger kids can handle her without issue. Ledy can be a bit goofy. She doesn’t jump on people, but her zoomies do include loping around like a baby moose. Even so, she’s very aware of her body and I’ve had zero issue with her running into anyone or knocking anyone over. She asks so politely to climb into my lap and has the softest paws when she does it. Ledy’s perfect home would be one that gives her time to figure out new situations. You can apply directly for Ledy by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-833 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves? Story
Meet Toffee (brindle) and Heath (white), a bonded pair of one-and-a-half-year-old Catahoula mix brothers with an unshakable connection. These two grew up side by side and have been inseparable ever since. Toffee is hearing-impaired and looks to Heath as his guide and emotional support, while Heath takes that role to heart, always looking out for his brother. Both boys are friendly and affectionate, though they can be a bit timid in new situations. Once they warm up, their personalities shine—Heath is the energetic social butterfly, always ready for playtime or a walk, and Toffee brings a gentle, calming presence with his sweet, soulful eyes. They love running and playing together, whether it’s chasing each other around the yard or stretching out in the grass for a good nap. Their bond makes them the perfect team—Heath gives Toffee confidence, and Toffee keeps Heath grounded. They’re looking for a home that will embrace their unique connection and give them both the love, patience, and space to thrive. With Toffee and Heath, you’re not just adopting dogs—you’re gaining a loyal duo that will fill your life with double the love and twice the tail wags. Story
Available in TX, NE and the PNW! Meet Rover – Your Next Adventure Buddy! Rover is a handsome 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur with a heart as big as his love for adventure. Picked up as a stray at just 6 months old, Rover has come a long way and is ready for a forever home that understands him and lets him shine. He has a natural affinity toward women and can be cautious with men at first; it took his foster dad a couple of weeks to earn his trust. Because of this, Rover needs a patient, understanding adopter who will allow him the time and space to feel secure and build confidence. He truly thrives in a calm, steady environment where he knows what to expect and can relax. Once comfortable, Rover’s personality blossoms. He loves belly rubs, happily rolls over for attention, and is generous with sweet kisses. He absolutely loves other dogs and would do wonderfully as an only dog soaking up all the attention or with a playful buddy who enjoys romping and wrestling. Fetch is one of his favorite games, and he’s even used to running alongside someone riding a bike. Rover loves water—lakes, pools, or splash time on a hot day—and would make an excellent hiking or outdoor companion. He has lived peacefully with cats and chickens, rides beautifully in the car, is leash trained, and fully potty trained. Because he can scale a 6-foot fence, supervised outdoor time or a secure yard is required. If you’re looking for a loyal, athletic, affectionate companion, Rover may be your perfect match. He is being fostered in a home in Seguin, Texas. In state adoptions are $250. He can be transported out of state for an additional $300. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Meet Flip! Flip has been through more than most — arriving with a fractured hip and enduring not one, but two FHO surgeries to get back on his feet. But you’d never know it. His sweet demeanor and loving personality have never wavered through it all, which tells you everything about who this boy is. At 60 lbs, Flip is on the smaller side for an Anatolian Shepherd mix, but he carries all the best traits of the breed. He takes his watchdog duties seriously, will alert you to visitors, and loves patrolling the property alongside his Great Pyrenees companion. He’s calm and confident around livestock, chickens, and cats, making him a natural fit for a home with animals. With other dogs, Flip is playful and social once he’s had a chance to size things up — he just likes to know everyone comes in peace. Once he does, he’s all in. But more than anything, Flip is a people dog. He wants to be where you are — piled onto a dog bed two sizes too small, riding shotgun on errands, or joining in on whatever adventure you’ve got planned. He thrives when he’s included and loved as part of the family. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who has already proven he can weather hard times with grace, Flip might just be your guy. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link.
