Story
Lily is a 5-year-old, we've had since she was 5 mo. She a 60-pound bundle of personality, brains, and affection, but she is not a beginner dog. Lily needs an experienced owner who understands body language, worked working breeds, and is ready to give her the structure and activities. Our own health issues motivates the re-homeing. - - Needs: No small or unpredictable children; Best as the only pet, but could do well with a confident pack; Someone patient and consistent with training. - - Personality & Favorites: A classic snuggly pittie who loves curling up with her humans; Food-motivated and quick to solve puzzles; Loves sunbathing, long walks, short sprints, digging holes, and hunting critters in bushes. - - Training & Care: Crate-trained; Has worked with multiple trainers and behaviorist; Reactive to activity just outside the home; Allergy-sensitive: currently on Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein and takes Apoquel; Known food triggers: chicken, beef, does better with fish/salmon

Story
Lola is a gorgeous 2 and a half year old Dogo Argentino/Pit Bull mix who was rescued from Riverside Animal Shelter’s euthanasia list. Lola is so stunning. She is a very loyal dog who bonds quickly to her handler. She is a totally ready to be your “ride or die” Best Friend Forever. She is selective with dogs and matches best with puppies or with extra chill adult male dogs. She is athletic and very smart! Her favorite toys are ropes and balls. This girl loves to play tug and fetch! She is a fast runner, and would love a household that is active. She enjoys walks/jogs/runs…you name it! Lola is very good with listening and with her commands. She stays close by you and doesn’t try to escape or run off. We love Lola! We would not recommend her with kids, small dogs, or adult female dogs that may try to challenges her. She would be the perfect fit for a single female who works from home. Someone who wants the look of a guard dog, paired with the heart of an angel! Lola will go to the ends of the earth for her owner!

Story
How this pet arrived: Meeko was brought in by their previous owner 12/17/2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meeko is a sweet doggie who is looking for a loving and patient home that can give him the space and time he needs to feel safe and comfortable. He can be fearful when meeting new people or encountering new situations, but with gentle handling and a calm environment, Meeko has the potential to build confidence at his own pace. Meeko would do best with an adopter who understands shy dogs and is willing to let him warm up naturally, without pressure. Once trust is established, he is sure to show his softer, more loving side. A quiet home and a consistent routine will help Meeko continue to grow and thrive. At SDHS:Meeko has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Meeko is now ready for his new home! Our *SUPER*NOVA is aBeautiful, classic Doggo girl, over a year old, healthy, friendly, spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, lots of basic training under her belt, adoptions only AVAILABLE IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA! Nova arrives with a complete trousseau, including bedding, doggy-wear, toys, bowls, treat bags, and much, much more. We have invested a great deal into this valuable beauty. As you see in the photos, Nova is LOVING and GREAT with well-behaved teenagers, too! While deafness can be a recessive trait for Dogo Argentino: We GUARANTEE that this VERY GOOD GIRL is absolutely not deaf at all. In fact, she can hear a food wrapper anywhere on your property, lol! Food driven and highly trainable. Our rescue will only consider families experienced with Doggo Argentinos/similar breeds. Please do your research before contacting us. While we have no papers on Nova, she certainly APPEARS to conform to the traditional standards of excellence- we have observed many of the traditional genetic, behavioral traits and characteristics of Doggos in this beauty! In fact, ALL THE COYOTES in the neighborhood HAVE MAGICALLY DISAPPEARED because of the personal charisma of Nova's Protection Breed status! ARE YOU the IDEAL home for this highly valuable girl? * You have a very large, (preferably acre or more) fenced yard, * Family member home most of the days, * You’re experienced, committed to continue her positive reinforcement training, * You understand highly intelligent canines, * You understand the needs of working dogs, * You understand this girl is a human-bonded, indoor Family Member, not merely ALSO an outdoor guardian breed. Nova is specifically bonded to humans, not to other dogs or animals. To be considered as the best possible family for Nova, please respond BOTH with a ***cell number*** and provide a specific**** time window*** that our Volunteer Adoption Counselor can call when you are available to answer the phone. We value both your time and ours! Any other information you would like to provide up front will make a huge difference. We look forward to introducing you to your new Charming Girl. Thank you, potential SUPER Nova Family Members!

Story
How this pet arrived: Felipe was brought in by a Field Service Officer on November 5, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Felipe! Felipe wandered in one day with the softest eyes and the calmest presence... and absolutely zero awareness of just how big he is. According to him, he's a compact lap dog who should absolutely be allowed to drape his whole body across yours at any moment. He recently had his right back leg amputated on 11/12/25, and he's adjusting to the tripod life with steady determination. He'll be taking it slow while he rebuilds strength, and he'll be rocking his E-collar until his staples come out around 12/1. He's not a fan of the fashion statement, but he's handling it with admirable patience. He has had some straining when he pees - something that started before surgery. His tests and x-rays didn't show a cause, though the post-op inflammation may have made it more noticeable. If it keeps up, a quick vet visit is recommended. Felipe is a sweet gentle giant with a heart that feels too big for his body. He leans in close, nudges your hand softly, and somehow manages to squeeze his whole giant self into your lap like it's the most natural thing in the world. And once he's healed? That goofy, playful, bounce-around spirit is ready to burst out - the one that makes you laugh and shake your head and think, how is this huge marshmallow so sweet? Are you ready to help him bounce back and celebrate every wiggly, giant goofball moment ahead? Come meet him and fall head over paws! Primary Color: White Weight: 89.4 Age: 4yrs 1mths 2wks
