Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Prefers to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter; will likely open up more once he's in a home environment and has had time to decompress - Enjoys attention and will come over and ask for some love - Really smart guy who loves treats and can catch them in his mouth; already knows sit, shake and more - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him, and he'd benefit from a more mature home that will enjoy his size and energy and allow him to settle in at his own pace - Sometimes isn't sure how to act around other dogs and can be socially awkward, but may do OK with a low-key dog friend (dog intro recommended) - We don't know his history with cats - May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 73 Age: 8yrs 2mths 4wks

Story
- So full of love and loves giving his people hugs and kisses - May need some extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home- Does well on a leash; a polite gentleman on walks - Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required)- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs.
