Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- A social guy who likes attention; can be reserved here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once he's in a home environment and has had time to decompress - Likes walks and does best with a harness- Was potty trained in his previous home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Was also kennel trained in his previous home and would go into his kennel when told "kennel" - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him right now; would benefit from a calm, mature home that can help him settle in and relax - Did well around small dogs in his previous home and liked to play with them; can be socially awkward with some new dogs though (dog intro required) - We don't know his history with cats All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 52 Age: 9yrs 0mths 3wks

I'm gonna make you an wo-offer you can't refuse. That's Pacino's favorite phrase. The adoption deal is simple: a roof over his head, a cold dish of water, daily meals and treats, plus an abundance of love. What? It's a good deal! Pacino, now over a year old, has become a true Dogfather. He is well-behaved, happy-go lucky, is very handsome, and has a wonderful, playful nature; he fits seamlessly into any family. His lineage boasts a long line of Dog-Father's, tough dogs out in the world whose business is their own. But, they are loyal, loving and strong characters to have around you.. He's a potty-trained and crate-trained gentleman, but he still has a penchant for chewing. He adores treats and toys, but can go through them quickly. Proper and slow introductions to other dogs are essential. Pacino would thrive best with older kids. Join the legacy and give Pacino the family he deserves. After all, a dog like him is an offer you can't refuse. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Best described as a goofy potato - she likes to lie on the couch, but with her head hanging off it - The perfect level of cuddle-bug; enjoys lying with her head or paw on you, but she doesn't need to live inside your skin - A certified pillow stealer! Once she gets up on the bed she quickly snuggles up on your pillows and makes herself comfortable, but her foster family said if you pat the end of the bed she'll eventually give in and move - If she's sleeping she's snoring, but it's so cute and funny that you can't even be annoyed - she's just a baby - Enjoys Nylabones and ripping up plush toys - Hops right in the car and typically just sits and stares out the window - Smart gal who knows sit, shake, and lay down- Likes peanut butter, whipped cream and really any treats - Favorite pastimes are snoring on the couch and sighing at you while you put your shoes on to take her outside because you're taking too long - When first going outside, she pulls while finding the perfect spot, but she typically eases up once she has had that first potty break- Her foster family said she did pretty good with housetraining in their home and only had one accident; they said when she randomly gets up and looks at you, that's her cue that she needs to go outside - Previous family said she has done well with kids - Can be pretty uncomfortable and vocal around other dogs; needs to be the only dog in her home to set her up for success - A little too interested in chasing cats, so she needs a home without them - Overall, a really good girl who may be great for a first-time dog owner or someone older who's looking for a couch companion (she has a lot of experience in that area!) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Friendly, cuddly girl with a big heart who loves meeting new people and getting love from everyone; she's as happy to lounge around and soak up affection as she is playing with toys - and she LOVES booty scratches- Likes tennis balls and playing fetch, and also likes stuffed toys, bones, and food enrichment such as Kongs, lick mats and snuffle mats- Curious with lots of happy energy and is up for any adventure - would be a great walking or hiking buddy and has loved going on long walks or even jogs with volunteers; does pretty well on a leash and even better on a harness- LOVES the car and is always ready to go for a ride - she hops right in! - Knows sit and down and has a good start on shake - Likes curling up in her dog bed for naps - Spent time in a foster home and did pretty well with potty training; may need some help from her new family to get all the way there - Not a fan of kennels or other enclosed spaces, but did well free-roaming in her foster home when her family was out - Showed discomfort with young children being around her things and not respecting boundaries in a previous home; has done well with respectful older children and will do best in a more mature home (ideally ages 10 and up)- Has been very uncomfortable around other dogs and tends to avoid them; needs to be the only dog in her new home - Tends to want to chase cats, so she'll do best in a home without them - Has been diagnosed with medial patellar luxation in one knee; also may have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program.
