Story
Ghost has been abandoned and neglected many times in his 9 years of life. I don’t think he has ever experienced true unconditional love. This sweet, gentle, playful boy is so unsure as to why. He is house trained, well mannered, great with kids, dog friendly, and very loyal. He is looking for his forever home. All he needs is a comfortable and safe environment. He enjoys playing with toys and being outside. He is a senior dog so his adopter will need to be sure they can take care of his needs as he continues to age. He is a healthy boy with some arthritis. He does like to play and run but for a short amount of time before he gets tired. He sleeps throughout the entire night and does extremely well being left alone. Ghost is mostly deaf but there has been no issues with him understanding things. He is an incredible dog who is looking for unconditional love!

Story
* Easy to leash and harness!* Pulled and grabbed at leash when first exiting kennel, but redirected easily with toys; easy to walk and no leash grabbing once she burned off some energy - checked in frequently (see video)!* Treat motivated and takes treats gently; will sit for treats!* Let us take toys and treats away from her without issue!* She tolerated her bath without trying to escape; let us place her in tub without issue!* She was not stingy with her kisses (see video)!* Playful; nice energy level (see videos)!* Easy in and out of car - jumped right up and out, no problem!* Great car manners!* Went into the crate easily - lured by treats; quiet during her rest time, kept herself busy with a chew toy; rested comfortably in her crate even when we left the door open!* Nonreactive to our resident dog barking at her; on the rail trail she reacted to some dogs we passed but not others (see video); when she did react (barking and some pulling), her body language was positive - tail wagging, no growling, no lunging - and we were able to easily redirect her with praise and treats!* Nonreactive to bikes, scooters, strollers, trains that passed her during our walk. * Friendly and soaked up the attention she received from other humans; people she met couldn’t believe she was 10 yrs old!* She was very interested in resident shelter cat and our resident cat - pulled towards them - so may do best in a no cat home or a very slow introduction.* May be potty trained (a “holder”) - went outdoors.

Story
We have a special boy to introduce to the families and couples out there wanting a truly special older pup that is totally trained and waiting to love you to pieces. True Blue Toby is a 10 month old Boxer mix puppy that was found as a stray and not in the best shape.  In fact he looked terrible and we felt so bad for this boy to have suffered for so many months.  Once he came to our care we got to work on clearing up hair loss and getting him healthy from those pesky intestinal worms and putting good weight on him.  Gosh Toby is the best boy with a wonderful personality that embraces everyone with love and the anticipation to become steadfast friends.  Shy at first, this boy has blossomed and is Mr. Outgoing in every way.  He just wants to hang out with his humans and love them with full gratitude for making him such a healthy boy.  Housebroken, crate trained and wonderful with other dogs and cats, he is the truly total package if you are looking for a medium sized dog.  He is going to be a 50 pound adult and what a handsome Boxer mix boy he is turning in to.   Email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue :   ccrnewengland@gmail.com   We know will be glad you considered this boy as your very own. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Breed: Boxer / American Bulldog? maybe? Size: Large; currently 70+ lbs Estimated Birthday: 3/2/2020 House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes, and kennels on command! Kid-Friendly: Needs a home with kids over 12 years This sweet girl came to the rescue in need of bowel obstruction surgery after she thought a sock was a yummy snack. She made it through surgery and has been recovering nicely! Bella Vida is quite shy and a bit hesitant to open up to new people, so she is looking for a patient family that will give her time and let her know she is safe. Bella Vida is selective with her dog friends and may do better with male dogs. She is looking for a house with no small children and would thrive with an active family with older kids. Bella Vida loves to go on daily walks and will play fetch for hours! She will always follow up these play sessions with a cuddle session on the couch. She loves deconstructing stuffed toys and sometimes her bedding. We would recommend caution in allowing Bella Vida unsupervised access to toys due to her recent sock-eating debacle. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Bella Vida is $358 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
Well hello MINNIE! Quick Facts: Breed: Boxer X Age: 7-8 years old (as of 2/2024) Weight: Around 50# House/Crate Trained: Yes & Yes! This sweet soul was an owner surrender to a shelter, severely underweight at a mere 30#. As a result, Minnie was diagnosed with EPI - exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, and will need to eat dog food for sensitive stomachs, sprinkled with an enzyme powder that allows her body to absorb and digest the food she's eating. She LOVES to run and play with the other dogs in her foster home. She has the world's best zoomies & will wrestle until her heart's content, BUT Minnie quickly falls victim to rainy days and nights, turning into a couch potato at the first sign of precipitation or at sundown, whichever comes first. She will curl up on the couch next to her favorite person and chew on a bone/toy while binging your favorite shows. She is so incredibly loving and so so happy. This girl enjoys long walks or car rides that lead to the park or snacks. But one thing Minnie does NOT enjoy is the thought of sharing her snacks or food (Same, Minnie, same). While Minnie learns that food & snacks are now an unlimited resource, she will need to be fed separately & given treats separately from other animals. She can be a little protective of her bones when she's trying to relax, but has a tendency to only boss around the submissive ones in the house, leaving her head honcho foster brother out of the warnings. Minnie walks well on a leash, but pulls when she gets excited & will need continued training. She is house trained & crate trained, relaxing in there while her foster mom is out of the house. She has not been cat or kid tested. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Minnie is $256 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!
