Peppermint is a one-year-old female Dogo Argentino mix who came to us as a stray with her mom, and she has been impressing everyone ever since. She is one of those dogs who just feels easy to be around. Peppermint is well mannered, attentive, and people focused. She already knows how to sit and is responsive to guidance. When asked to head back to her kennel, she calmly followed along off leash and loaded into her crate without hesitation, showing us how cooperative and trusting she is. She has a steady, thoughtful demeanor for a young dog and seems eager to learn and please. Peppermint would thrive with continued structure, basic training, and a family who enjoys working with their dog and building a bond. She has a great foundation and the kind of temperament that makes everyday routines smooth. Peppermint is ready to leave her stray days behind and find a home where she can feel secure and loved. If you are looking for a young dog who is already off to a great start and ready to grow with you, Peppermint could be the one. Spearmint is an adult female Dogo Argentino mix who came to us as a stray alongside Peppermint, who we believe is her daughter. While Peppermint is just starting her journey, Spearmint has the calm, soulful presence of a dog who has clearly loved and been loved before. Spearmint is gentle, dog friendly, and deeply people oriented. She listens well, is eager to please, and seems to take comfort in staying close to those she trusts. Her favorite thing in the world is simply being near her people and soaking up affection. If snuggling were an Olympic sport, Spearmint would take the gold. The shelter environment has been especially hard on her. She dislikes the noise and chaos and does her best to shut down and cope, but once she is outside of the kennel, her soft, affectionate personality shines through. In quiet spaces, she relaxes quickly and shows just how easy and loving she truly is. Spearmint would thrive in a calm, stable home with a family who values companionship and routine. She will do best with continued structure and gentle guidance, and she would love a home where she can finally exhale, feel safe, and be someone’s constant shadow. She does well with other dogs and would be happy to share her home with a canine friend. Spearmint is ready to leave her stray days behind and trade the stress of the shelter for comfort, consistency, and love.
