You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Zora – The Magical Queen of Your Heart   Zora is a four-year-old black-and-white tuxedo beauty with medium-to-long fur and a gaze that’s equal parts wise and wild. Rescued from the streets alongside her two kittens, Zora has undergone a breathtaking transformation—from sickly and emaciated to strong, vibrant, and glowing with health. Today, she’s not just surviving—she’s thriving.   One of the most loving little spitfires you’ll ever meet, Zora adores affection, cozy pets, and sharing moments of true connection. That said, she’s a cat who knows her boundaries and isn’t afraid to tell you when she’s had her fill of fuss. She’s playful, spirited, and has a hearty appetite for both food and fun.   Zora carries herself like a queen, with a mystical presence that feels more wizard than feline. She would do best in a home without other animals, where she can rule her domain in peace and receive the one-on-one attention she craves. Ideal adopters will be those who speak cat—folks who respect her autonomy, delight in her quirks, and are ready to love a magical little soul who will absolutely claim their heart.   Ready to be enchanted? Zora is waiting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  Prior to adoption, all cats have the following services: Spay or Neuter 3 in 1 Vaccination De-wormed Treated for fleas Tested for FIV/FELV Micro-Chipped $175 for 1 or $300 for a pair  Upon adoption you will receive coupons from Petsmart for various items to help get you started with your new cat.  All adoptions require an application, contract and adoption fee.    Link to our online adoption application. http://www.thecatcove.com/adoption-application.html Meet and Greets and Adoptions will take place at one of our Long Beach Petsmart adoption centers by appointment only while we are Social Distancing. Story
PRINCE is 1 of 3 cats in a beautiful, bonded cat family in search of their fur-ever home. They were living outside and we believe they were dumped by people moving - a cat mom, cat dad, and a 1 year old boy who we believe is their gorgeous offspring! They are now fixed/vaxxed and well-behaved, sweet cats. They are strongly bonded and relish in each others' company so we are hoping for a fur-ever home that will keep this family of 3 together! These 3 cats are so easy that they feel like 1. They even sleep in one big cuddle puddle! PRINCE (orange/white male, 1 y/o) has a graceful and regal demeanor and is oh so gentle! His fluff is just as soft as it looks. He is an absolute sweetheart and very affectionate! He copies Blossom's every move and looks to her for guidance and security, rarely leaving her side. He craves human affection and love, is a total cuddle bug, loves to play, and is such a good boy! Please check out the listings for BLOSSOM & GARFIELD, along with their Youtube video!

Tigger is a sweet cat that absolutely loves attention from people. He loves to be pet everywhere and is a chill couch potato buddy. He's cautious around other male adult cats- we believe he's been in a fight with another cat before. Take him home if you want a cuddle buddy.

Story
Smudge was rescued during TNR after a woman was abusing him pretty badly. We knew he had a sweet soul and put him straight into foster. SMudge is very shy at first given what he has been through, but we are hoping there is a family out there who will give him the patience and love he deserves. His foster mom loves him so much and wrote some info on him below. He will take the pets and even pur if enough is given to him. He loves it He prefers to cuddle with the other cats He gets along well with other cats He likes chilling on the catio, and sometimes he even sings a cat song there He is okay with dogs He is not okay being picked up Even though his fur is fluffy and soft and it'll tempt anyone to want to pick him up for a hug. He will not tolerate this much attention though, Normally he's just a quite cat, that chills on window ledges and catios , or even the cat tree, He's not a picky eater so you can feed him anything cat food :)

Story
Bear was found sleeping on the tire of someone’s truck one day. He woke up and immediately started meowing and begging for head scratchies, then jumped into the woman’s car when she got in to leave! He clearly did not want to be an outside cat and immediately made himself right at home in her living room. All he wants is all the belly rubs, to play wrestle with toys and tasty snacks. He is such a handsome, sweet lover boy and is ready for a place to call home!

Story
With her luxurious black and white fur and brilliant green eyes, Oakland is as beautiful as she is resilient! She was rescued in Oakland, CA at just 7 weeks old. She was born with deformities to all four legs: her front legs were able to be corrected as a kitten, leaving the back two that now point in unique directions, but that doesn’t slow her down for a second! With proper medical care and a ton of love and time to grow, she has become a funny, strong, and independent girl. She does take a moment to get used to new faces–although she doesn’t love to be held and carried around, she does love attention from people and other cats! For Oakland to have a full life at home with you, she needs you to continue her monthly Solensia injections and weekly Adequan injections for her arthritis in her back legs, and she needs cat trees in order to climb, but she is otherwise completely independent! Oakland would be happy as an only cat, or with a companion: She grew up with the other adoptable HOBC cats, and would love to bring one of her lifelong friends home with her! Cats with special needs like Oakland’s require at least some extra time, attention, and financial consideration than the average cat, and we want to ensure that you and Oakland will be an excellent match! Please fill out an application and email it to us at houseofbrokencookies@gmail.com. From there, we will contact you for a phone interview, and arrange a meet-and-greet. Thank you for considering this beautiful girl! Prior to adoption, all cats have the following services: *Spay or Neuter *3 in 1 Vaccination *De-wormed *Treated for fleas *Tested for FIV/FELV *Micro-Chipped

Story
Hi, I’m Angelique.  My 3 littermates and I were rescued from the street in Seal Beach when we were about 2 months old.  We were all very scared as we hadn’t been around people before. At first, we were considered feral, but we were sent to a foster home and calmed down quite a bit.  My foster home had other kittens, big cats, and dogs. I loved the big cats and was fine with the kittens but the dogs scared me. I don't welcome pets or being picked up. I am a shy girl and get scared easily so I need a quiet forever home with another cat or kitten and a family who has lots of patience and will give me plenty of time to adjust to a new environment. Story
Hi, I’m Annie. I was rescued from the Seal Beach Jetty along with my friend Mercedes way back in 2015.  We both went to a foster home for a couple of months and slowly learned to trust humans. Then we came back to  SBACC and after a while, we were both adopted by a volunteer.  Sadly, Mercedes crossed over the Rainbow Bridge a while ago and I lost my home because my adopter couldn't interact with me.  I am very shy and don't allow petting or handling. I'm comfortable here and wouldn’t mind living out my senior years where I'm loved and cared for by a wonderful team of volunteers and staff.  Maybe if the right person came along, I could adjust to a new home, but after all this time at SBACC, it feels like home.November 5, 2024, 10:53 am

Story
Hi, I’m Margaret Mary.  I was rescued from someone’s porch along with my five five-day-old kittens.  I came to SBACC and then went to a foster home but was so protective of my kittens that I wouldn’t let my foster Mom near them or me. So we all came back to SBACC and I nursed and raised my kittens in a special back room at the shelter.  Once the kittens were eating on their own they went to a foster home and I stayed at the shelter to get ready for my forever home.  I’m a very friendly girl and the people who originally found me said I would sit on their laps and eat from their hands.  I’m now ready to do that with my forever family.  One more thing I should tell you.  I’m FIV+.  It’s not that big a deal.  Despite what many people think, cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives and it’s not contagious and can’t be transmitted from cat to cat by sharing food, water, or litter boxes.  I sure hope I don’t have to wait too long for my forever home. Story
Hi, I’m Sophie. I originally came to SBACC as a two-month-old kitten who was in terrible shape and very scared. I spent about a month in a foster home and was adopted about a month after returning to SBACC. I remained very shy, but the couple who adopted me was OK with that.  I guess they just didn’t expect me to stay shy forever, and after more than a year, they decided to bring me back to SBACC.  I’m still shy and spend a lot of time in my cubby, but I enjoy pets, and I have the softest fur imaginable.  I do emerge from my cubby when it’s quiet, and I know I need a quiet home with someone who will have the time and patience to draw me out of my shell.
