Story
A Wonderful cat family!I'M THE MOM: I’m Bella and a beautiful female with sable coloring with longer fur.  I’m not a big cat, my fur actually makes me look bigger, but I have the “biggest” purr of them all. I love brushing and petting and I’ll follow you around for more loving.  I like to play chase with my kittens and zooming around the round is really lots of fun.  I’m looking for a home that would be “forever” that I can lay next to you and purr or we can play with the toys.  I’m just happy to be safe and be indoors with you. RESCUE STORY: I started out with my family, but they moved and left me behind. I was all alone outside except when “the boys” came around…. and you know what that means!  The very nice neighbor was 90 years old and she took me in and took good care of me, but she passed away 3 days after my kittens were born and then her son fed me. The house was going to be sold and me and my gorgeous kittens had to move. Me and my family were rescued by Community Animal Network and we are all safe in a foster home! HERE ARE MY KITTENS   I'M THE KITTEN JAVA and my black fur is really soft like a bunny and shiny, too. I am more reserved than my siblings that are really outgoing and hogged all the attention and so I started out very shy.  But now, I’ve come out of my shell and I follow right behind my sister to say “Hi”!  I love to play with all the toys – running and practicing my “prey skills’ from one side of the room to the other.  I really enjoy running and sliding on the wood flooring.  When I’m not playing by myself or with Dolly, I’m cuddling with my Mom Bella or my sister Dolly.  I like to be held and cuddled.  I’m sure when you meet me, you will never want to put me down. I'M THE KITTEN DOLLY: I’m Dolly and honestly, I am everyone’s favorite and they tell me that they love me. I’m a big hit on the Zoom calls and everyone loves my black and white pattern and black mustache and is talking about me! But I’m not just a great looking Kitten.  I have a lot of personality.  I’m always the first to run up and say “Hi” and I like to explore, have my belly rubbed and play with my sister who is another fun-loving kitten! She and I lay on top of the cat tree and hang over the edge and snooze.  I love to play with my sister Java who is another fun-loving kitten. But I also chase my tail when I get tired of playing with my toys. I’m just right for a really fastidious person because I like to have a clean box. I’ll be your best friend always and if you rub my tummy I will adore you!    August 14, 2023, 12:02 am

Story
POPCORN IS AVAILABLE AS A PERMANENT FOSTER - ALL COSTS PAID BY AALOC Popcorn, a beautiful, female, long-haired cat, was surrendered several years ago by a female truck driver of some notoriety: her previous owner purchased a painting at a garage sale for $5.00 and it is thought to be an original Jackson Pollock. Even with her interesting history, unfortunately Popcorn has never been adopted and now she has lymphoma. She desperately needs a quiet home and someone special to love her. Popcorn is a bit shy but she is very gentle. She used to have very long fur and a big fluffy tail. If you think of the color of a Dreamsicle - a creamy, dreamy orange - you almost envision the color of Popcorn's coat. Popcorn recently started over grooming causing her to vomit so her luxurious coat has been shaved and she now looks like a little lion. Keeping her fur short is important for her health so she will need regular grooming. Popcorn will also need maintenance medication and regular vet visits to keep her in her best shape. As a permanent foster you would be responsible for loving and caring for Popcorn, taking her to her vet appointments and making sure she receives her medications and is comfortable. AALOC would pay for all of Popcorn's vet visits, grooming, food and medications. We also need a medical sponsor to help pay for Popcorn's veterinarian care. To donate to Popcorn's medical expenses and medication, please visit www.AALOC.org/donate, or for additional information regarding becoming Popcorn's medical sponsor email us at AALOC@AALOC.org. Please submit an application to foster Popcorn. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Popcorn and get to know her a bit. For more information on fostering visit our website at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org, or by phone at (714) 893-4393.

Story
Bay, a lovely female cat, was brought to AALOC by a woman who found her in her front yard. The cat was not able to use her left side at all and could not get up. We took her in and to the vet/neurologist where she had a CT scan.  It showed trauma to her neck, which fortunately with extensive rest heals. We are happy to say that she is now able to walk. Bay is very shy and needs a quiet home. She does warm up after a bit and loves to be brushed. We hope someone will see this and give her a home where she will be safe, well fed and loved. Please submit an application to adopt Bay at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Bay and get to know her a bit. Donation of $100 for cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. Story
A long-time donor of AALOC reached out to ask if we could help her. Her neighbor is a maintenance worker who had previously rescued a kitten. Unfortunately his company was relocating this kind man to Los Angeles the next day and he couldn’t take his cat Sierra with him. He was in tears, concerned about the well-being of Sierra and her future. Because our humane center was already full, the donor even offered to pay for Sierra’s boarding so we took this beautiful cat under our care. Sierra is female, long-haired, black and white tuxedo cat. She is super sweet and enjoys human attention and interaction. One thing to consider: although Sierra’s long fur truly enhances her striking appearance, it will require regular grooming to keep Sierra’s fur in tip-top shape and free from snarls. Please apply to adopt Sierra at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Sierra and get to know her a bit. Story
Kamilah MRQ: W5-22-2 DOB: 2/18/22 Domestic Long Hair-Tuxedo Kamilah is a beautiful long hair tuxedo with a beautiful fluffy tail. She’s a big girl and she has a big friendly heart. Kamilah and her siblings were left in an old garage by their momma cat. Fortunately, they were found by a good Samaritan and were brought to our rescue. After being in a wonderful foster home and receiving much love and care, Kamilah and her siblings are now friendly and loving kitties. Kamilah loves playing with ping pong balls (her favorite toy) but she also loves wands and toy mice. She gets along well with other kitties. Kamilah would do well in a calm home with parents that will allow her to adjust to her new home. She would also do well as an only pet in the home. Kamilah is spayed and current on vaccinations. She is microchipped, dewormed and has been treated for fleas. She is being fostered in Riverside. Contact beckyroa76@gmail.com for more information.

Story
Beautiful TICA cat show award winner!Royce is a big cat that is reminiscent of the breed Maine Coon. He is a very beautiful boy and has a sweet personality. He likes to be held and carried and near the one he loves. He has lived in multi-cat households and is a dominant male. A cat savvy pet-parent would be needed to introduyce him into another multi-cat family.  Since he is so very affectionate it would be nice for him to have a home without other cats so he could get all the attention. Royce was adopted from our organization when he was a kitten by a couple that showed Maine Coon cats. Sadly, the woman developed a severe respiratory disorder and had to give up all her show cats and Royce. That is why Royce has been shown at TICA cat shows and won two awards. He is available to be met in the caregivers home.       August 14, 2023, 12:02 am

Story
Tallulah Gin aka Lula has enchanting vibrant green eyes and most people say she is really gorgeous!  She is 6 years old with very unusual markings being she looks like she is a black long hair and yet has grey with slight calico markings. She is very furry and would become matted without being in a home that will groom here. She sometimes needs a sanitary clip on her behind. Lula is playful with interactive toys like the feather wand and she likes plastic lizard toys or wadded up paper balls. She likes comfy sofas and chairs and is a pretty lounge lizard. She has lived in the same home since she was a kitten and the couple is giving Tallulah Gin up because they have new grandbabies that visit and Lula will react by biting or scratching them.    Like many cats Lula has petting aggression which is often misunderstood. Petting aggression is easily manageable by just not petting the cat in areas it doesn’t like or not petting in the same place over and over, or not petting when they are not in the mood. Simply put, petting aggression can be managed by learning what areas the cat likes petting and avoiding areas it doesn't and if a cat strikes when being petted 5 times just stop petting at 4 times before the cat gets disturbed. Many cats when first rescued may exhibit signs of petting aggression and will swipe when you pet them because they have not been petted in such a long while and the stimulus is too much for them. When a home is found that they will be happy in and they learn to trust their caregiver and they feel safe the extreme behavior simply isn’t as apparent. We use a back scratcher to pet all new rescue cats to get them used to us and petting. Overstimulation is often the cause of petting aggression and a cat that hasn't been petted for a while can just feel too many feelings and that overwhelm them. A back scratcher is a good tool to build trust and bond with any cat. It allows the cat to experience pleasure and for the pet-parent to learn what feels good to the cat.  Lula currently lives in her ordinal home and we would love a foster parent to be able to help her live without the stress of the grandkids.  If Tallulah Gin is of interest tell me about yourself and others in the home as well as other pets. She will be happy in a home without children. Community Animal Network, a non-profit organization founded by DiAnna Pfaff-Martin in 1996.
