Story
Jack is a very handsome and charming 14-1/2-year-old boy who has quickly become a volunteer favorite. He was surrendered to HART since his previous owner could not offer the care he needed. Jack started out at HART very confused and defensive. After being here after about a week or two, he really started to trust the new people in his life. He has an independent and courageous spirit that will surely win you over. He enjoys being petted, brushed and held and will start purring almost immediately. He loves being spoiled the most.Or medical team found that he has some joint issues in his legs and he is on a medication now to help him with any pain he might be experiencing. To help him continue and monitor this treatment and care we require that his new home have an established vet before adopting him. He's also eating a diet to help him with kidney care. Before adopting him, you'll meet with a member of our Shy Angels program to discuss his needs and your needs for a successful adoption. We think you'll fall in love with this wonderful kitty like we have. Please come meet him in Room 5 at the shelter.Go to our website, www.hartofme.org, to submit your online application today!***FKA = Formerly Known As

Story
Alvin is a charming, long-haired, brown tabby who will be pleased to meet you! He is 7 years old and came to HART in the Spring of 2023 when his guardians unfortunately could no longer provide care for him. Although he is selective about which other cats he is willing to hang out with, he is doing well living with his feline roommates at the shelter. With a slow and gradual introduction, we believe he could live in a home with other friendly cats and even a laid-back, cat-savvy dog.Alvin has a history of bladder stones and previously had surgery to remove them. In order to maintain his urinary health, he requires a wet-only diet, and we strongly recommend that he eat prescription urinary health formula wet food (We will send him home with a sample.). Alvin recently had a flare-up of chin acne that has healed up nicely. Since he can be nervous and reactive in stressful situations, our Medical Team has placed Alvin on medication to help him cope with the stress of living in a shelter environment. He would do best in a calm, low-key household without young children. His adoptive family will need to be committed to providing him with the necessary dietary care and regular veterinary check-ups to monitor his condition in order to ensure his health long-term. We will require that his adopter has an established relationship with a veterinarian. Our Adoption Team will review Alvin's specific needs with you prior to his adoption.Alvin may require a little extra care, but this loving boy is so worth it, and he will reward you with a lifetime of love and cuddles. Submit an application and come in to meet Alvin in Room 4.Go to our website, www.hartofme.org, to submit your online application today!***FKA = Formerly Known As

Story
Arlo (black/white male) and his brother Gordon (white/gray male) were abandoned when their family moved and left them behind, outside to fend for themselves. While Arlo has bounced back from the trauma rather quickly, Gordon is still having a bit of tough time. Arlo is outgoing while Gordon is super shy. Arlo will adjust quickly to a new home but Gordon will need someone with ample time and patience to allow him to adjust on his terms. Once you gain his trust you will NOT be disappointed as he is just the sweetest guy! These boys are about 2 years old and good with other cats and older/respectful kids. They have not met a dog. They are neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and treated for fleas/ticks/worms. They are available to an indoor only home with no declawing. If you are willing to open your home and heart to these gents please email FoFF foster coordinator, Cindy, at cmm283@yahoo.com.

Story
Baby is very vocal and loves to beg for pats and affection. She moves around great on her three legs and loves rolling around on plushy blankets. She can be independent as well but also very playful. We are unsure of how she feels about sharing space with other animals at this time. Baby Girl is on a special diet food for skin and stomach sensitivities. Baby Girl can go home as a Foster-to-Adopt while she continues medical treatment which a staff member would be happy to discuss with an adopter further! Come and meet this energetic snugglebug.
