Story
Miss Lucky is a spayed female long-haired black cat, born in January 2017. Miss Lucky was rescued as a kitten and lived for seven happy years with her rescuer, but then her rescuer had to leave for a nursing home and never came back. Miss Lucky lived in that house for two more years. She was fed, her litter was changed, but she hid and she did not have any human interaction! When the house was sold, the time came when Miss Lucky had to leave the home she had always known. She is lonely and confused but she is a beautiful cat who longs for affection. Miss Lucky is very gentle and loving. She has started enjoying the attention of people once again. She needs a foster or adoptive home where she will finally begin to believe she is no longer alone!  Indoor cat only! The adoption fee is $25. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/cat-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.  May 19, 2026, 10:49 am

Story
Sahara - Female DOB 4/18/2025 Domestic Short Hair - Brown and White Tabby Sahara is a gorgeous long-haired brown and white tabby who will make it very clear, very quickly, that she is your girl — and she expects you to be her person right back. She is playful and loves a good wand toy session, but she is equally happy to switch gears and curl up with you for a cuddle. In her foster home, she had a habit of following her foster mom from room to room, just waiting for the moment she would bend down to give her some attention — and making absolutely sure she was always in the loop on whatever was happening. Once she has had time to settle in, she will find her way onto your bed, and at that point you may just have to accept that sleeping arrangements have officially changed. Sahara was in foster with another cat, but she wasn't fond of being around other cats. Currently at the rescue she has a tendency to hiss and cuff at other cats, so she would likely be happiest as your one and only kitty — as long as you are someone who is home more often than not and has plenty of attention to give. She has not been around dogs, so that would be an unknown worth approaching slowly. Older children who know how to respect a cat's space would be the right fit for her. She just needs the right home to pour all of her love into, and she will make it very much her own. Please apply via our easy online application at https://furrr.org/cat-adoption-process/All kitten(s) and cat(s) at FuRRR Feline Rescue are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations for their age, combo tested for FIV/FeLV, microchipped and have a Health Certificate from a licensed NH veterinarian.  Our application is available to be completed online at  https://furrr.org/cat-adoption-process/  Applying DOES NOT guarantee approval.  We hold meet and greets with approved applications only.  (Kittens are available for adoption in pairs only unless they are going home to another kitten or young cat under 3) Our policy is strictly NO DECLAWING and INDOOR ONLY.
