Mary is part of the Sanderson Sisters. They are adorable kittens who are a little bit shy right now, but we're hoping to socialize them so they can find their forever homes. They respond well to Churu treats and are really showing progress.  3/1/23 Update: Mary is still shy but with time & patience, we are confident that she will blossom in her forever home. Story
Noel and her sister Holly were rescued from a shelter in West Virginia in December 2022. They were shy at first and have made a lot of progress. These two sisters are bonded and would love to find a home together. They may need a little patience and time to feel comfortable in a new environment. If you are looking for a sweet long-haired cat, you will love these two girls! Story
Meet Peaches! Believe it or not, this long-haired beauty was brought to ICHS as a stray. Peaches was not a big fan of the shelter life when she first came in, but who can blame her? Going from having all of the outdoors to being in a cage is a huge change! However, Peaches has gotten a lot better at adjusting to change as she has experienced a lot since coming into the shelter. After she finally got more adjusted to being here at ICHS, our shelter staff noticed some things were off with Peaches. She was excessively eating and drinking and was urinating more than normal. After being taken to the vet, it was discovered that Peaches is diabetic and her blood glucose level was high. Peaches immediately started receiving insulin injections and switched to diabetic-friendly cat food (we are using Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets Diabetic Management). Since starting this journey, Peaches' blood glucose level has dropped significantly and continues to get better! Because of her condition, Peaches will need to go to a home with someone who will be able to fully manage and keep up with her disease. This will include giving her, her insulin shot every 12 hours, taking her for frequent vet visits, providing her with diabetic management food, etc. So, we would prefer an adopter who has experience with diabetic cats or other diseases that require similar maintenance for Peaches. All of this care is worth it with a cat like Peaches! Since Peaches has been starting to feel better, we have really gotten to see her true personality. Peaches is a lot more cuddly than we ever knew! She loves receiving ALL the pets, being held, and even cuddling up for a nap with our shelter staff. She sure would love to snuggle up in your bed with you! No matter where you go or what you're doing, Peaches is sure to be laying nearby keeping you company. When she isn't being a love bug, Peaches enjoys exploring and gazing out the window. She seems to think that the cars driving past is actually a game for her. Overall, Peaches is a joy to be around. She is filled with personality and is a very loyal friend who loves to snuggle. While Peaches knows that her condition makes it harder to get adopted, she never loses hope that she will find her very own fur-ever family. If you know that you would be able to manage Peaches' diabetes and are ready to make a new best friend, consider putting in an adoption application for Peaches today! Story
Meet Anastasia! Anastasia was brought to ICHS as a stray along with her sister Francesca. Francesca and Anastasia are looking for a house where they can be treated like the royalty that they are. These gorgeous girls know how perfect they are! Francesca is a little timider than Anastasia and may hiss when quickly approached. However, this beauty is all bark and no bite and it doesn't take long for her to warm up and let you pet and hold her. Anastasia is a little more social and outgoing and has learned that she loves receiving pets from the shelter staff. She will roll around all cute to make sure she gets the attention she needs. If you are looking for two cute cats, consider putting in an adoption application for this bonded pair today! Everyone is sure to be jealous that you got to adopt these models.
