Please complete our online Adoption Application (https://www.saveourstraysinc.com/adopt/adoption-application/). An application is required to move forward with any adoption. NO PHONE CALLS, PLEASE! All Save Our Strays Inc cats have been sterilized, given one distemper vaccine, a rabies vaccine, microchip, and have been tested for FeLV if under 6 months of age and for both FeLV/FIV if older. A contract must be completed prior to any adoption after approval of the adopter by one of our adoption volunteers. There is a screening process so merely wanting to adopt doesn't make someone eligible to adopt. Adoptions are approved at the discretion of the screeners. Please note cats come in and out of foster homes so seeing a cat on this site does not guarantee it will be available when you contact us. Also we do not adopt on a first come first serve basis. The present adoption fee is $125.00 (please note this amount may change without notification). Renters will be asked to provide proof that pets are allowed. Placements are made based on the needs of each cat. ##1982133##

Story
Meet adorable and precocious Joleen who was rescued in Tennessee from the freezing cold and brought down to warm Florida by a good Samaritan! Joleen is a rare orange female fluffy medium to long-haired kitty who is very affectionate, outgoing that loves to be pet, and go to town on a ribbon or feather wand! She would do great in a home with another young cat to burn energy out with. She was born on approximately 11/01/2024 and will be ready for adoption very soon but can be pre-adopted now with a potential for foster to adopt. Joleen displays unique kitten characteristics that are similar to a beautiful breed of cat known as a Maine Coon. If you love the exotic look and personality of the Maine Coon cat breed but are mindful to adopt and not shop and want to save a life instead of contributing to the over population of cats and kittens, then Joleen is the kitty for you! Her adoption donation is $250 and you can set up an appointment to visit her in St Pete Florida by submitting an adoption application at CJPAWS.ORG/ADOPT Please follow us on Facebook where you can message questions via messenger. 100% of adoption fees directly support CJPaws, a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue headquartered in St. Petersburg, FL where we are dedicated towards improving animal welfare in our community. Our mission is to provide compassionate care to homeless cats especially those who are pregnant or injured; by rehabilitating them and ensuring they find loving forever homes while promoting responsible pet ownership. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, and we are 100% run on donations. We do not receive any grants from the government or from any private organizations. We are able to keep operating and saving animals because of donations from people like you. If you would like to help us continue to save animals, you can donate, foster, and adopt! ** To apply, please go to our website, www.cjpaws.org and visit the Adoptions page. Or copy and paste into your browser: http://www.cjpaws.org/adopt/ *** It can take up to 24 hours to respond to your application and an additional 1-2 business days to have your application approved. Not all applications will be approved. Applications that are incomplete will not be approved. Please include all veterinary information, as we will be contacting your veterinarian. Our non-refundable adoption fee covers spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, monthly flea medication while in our rescue, any medications while in our rescue, an FeLV/FIV test, and the unconditional love of your new family member. Our rescue does not continue to pay for flea medication, vaccinations, deworming, or any other medications after the animal is adopted. All costs and fees accrued after adoption are the responsibility of the new family.

Story
This is one of our black cat twins, Mavis! A year and a half young, Mavis loves to be pet and gently scratched, she and her sister are very talented vocalists 😉, sweethearts, love to be brushed, enjoy watching cat tv, and LOVE to cuddle with their mama and brothers. The only difference between her and her sister Marceline, is that Mavis has like 3 or 4 singular white hairs on her chest 😆 if it weren’t for that, they’d be completely identical! Mavis loves her siblings and mama and while we’d be ecstatic if anyone was willing to adopt more than two of them, we know it’s not the most realistic option. So if we could recommend adopting one of Mavis’ siblings with her we’d say Marceline!! We’re looking for a completely indoor home for Mavis. She is not an indoor/outdoor cat! She and her siblings have only been raised indoors in our garage. Not to say she is afraid of the outdoors, but she is not a roamer. A screened in patio for playtime and sunbathing would be a great perk!
