Story
Tabitha came to the shelter through animal control in a feral trap after being found in a Good Samaritan’s yard. It was clear she needed immediate veterinary care, and upon arrival she was rushed in for emergency treatment to assess a serious injury. After a few days of stabilization, Tabitha underwent surgery where her tail sadly had to be amputated. From there, she headed into foster care to rest, heal, and be shown some much-deserved love. After a few weeks, this tough girl made a full recovery, and her true personality began to shine. Now healed, Tabitha is a very sweet, affectionate, and delightfully vocal kitty who loves attention and isn’t shy about asking for it. She enjoys being near her people and soaking up all the love she missed out on earlier in life. Like many cats, she can become overstimulated at times and may give gentle warning bites, so she’ll do best with adopters who understand feline body language and can respect her boundaries. The shelter environment can be stressful for Tabitha and does make her a bit nervous, so her full personality may not show right away. With time, patience, and a calm home, she blossoms into the loving companion she’s meant to be.While we’re unsure how she does with other cats or dogs (she’s spent her recovery time healing solo), any introductions to new pets should be slow, patient, and closely monitored to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.Like any newly adopted pet (especially a cat like Tabitha who has had a difficult life outdoors) she will need time, patience, and understanding to fully settle in and open her heart. Because of her tail amputation, she will need to be a strictly indoor cat for her long-term health and wellbeing. If you’re looking for a loving companion with a gentle soul, a chatty personality, and an inspiring comeback story, Tabitha just might be your perfect match
