Add some ‘purr’ to your life, with cutie boy, Burr! This sweet chubby cheek boy is as snuggly as they come. He loves to curl up with you, purr his little heart out, and be your bedtime buddy. At night especially, he’s the best cuddle partner around. He’s also super talkative and will happily “chat” with you throughout the day. And when it comes to other cats—he’s all about making friends!Burr is known to be a little dramatic if you try to leave the room without giving him the love and attention he feels he deserves. If he’s talking to you, he expects to be acknowledged—he knows his worth!Like all of us, he’s had a few struggles. He has had some bowel issues in the past, though his new medicine has made a world of difference. He’s also FIV positive, which sounds scary but really just means he needs a loving, low-stress home and good care (and he has lots of years of love to give!). He’s not the biggest fan of dogs, though with time and patience he can adjust—but with cats, he’s all in!At the end of the day, this boy is pure sweetness wrapped up in a furry little package. He just needs the right home to see past “the ugly” and embrace all the good and love he has to give. We believe Burr to be around 2 years old, and currently weighs around 10 lbs (but still needs to put on a few more pounds). You may apply to adopt Burr at www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. Burr is vaccinated, FELV tested negative, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $50. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.

My mom and my husband found Luffy (like Mondey D. Luffy from One Piece) at the property they manage when he was about 5 or 6 weeks old. We brought him home in the hopes that he would be a nice addition to our small family. He can be very sweet when he wants to be, but he plays too rough around our 3 year old. I think he is just a little too wild for a home with young children. He would probably do very well in a home where someone has plenty of time to spend with him and give him the attention he deserves. He does like to go outside occasionally, but he is primarily an inside cat. He is now about 8 or 9 months old, and he has been neutered and all of his shots are up to date.

Even after everything he’s been through, he remains incredibly affectionate—just a few gentle pets and he’s purring away, showing just how much he loves attention. He seems to enjoy being held and snuggled, and his calm, gentle nature makes it clear he’s ready to form a strong, trusting bond with the right person. Though his fur still shows signs of the severe neglect he endured, with time, care, and plenty of love, he will fill out and shine as the majestic long-haired cat he is meant to be. Nutty Buddy’s story is one of resilience and hope. He was rescued from one of the most severe neglect cases our team has seen, where 33 animals were found living in unimaginable conditions in a Dayton neighborhood. The home was overflowing with trash, animal waste, and decay, and many animals were confined to tiny cages layered in filth. Once he arrived at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, our medical and care teams immediately began lifesaving treatment, and Nutty Buddy began experiencing safety, comfort, and love for the very first time in a long while. Despite his past, Nutty Buddy is still a sweetheart who deserves a forever home where he will be cherished. With patience, affection, and a cozy place to call his own, this gentle boy is ready to show just how loving and loyal a companion he can be. He’s looking for a family who will treasure him and give him the life he’s always deserved.
