Add some ‘purr’ to your life, with cutie boy, Burr! This sweet chubby cheek boy is as snuggly as they come. He loves to curl up with you, purr his little heart out, and be your bedtime buddy. At night especially, he’s the best cuddle partner around. He’s also super talkative and will happily “chat” with you throughout the day. And when it comes to other cats—he’s all about making friends!Burr is known to be a little dramatic if you try to leave the room without giving him the love and attention he feels he deserves. If he’s talking to you, he expects to be acknowledged—he knows his worth!Like all of us, he’s had a few struggles. He has had some bowel issues in the past, though his new medicine has made a world of difference. He’s also FIV positive, which sounds scary but really just means he needs a loving, low-stress home and good care (and he has lots of years of love to give!). He’s not the biggest fan of dogs, though with time and patience he can adjust—but with cats, he’s all in!At the end of the day, this boy is pure sweetness wrapped up in a furry little package. He just needs the right home to see past “the ugly” and embrace all the good and love he has to give. We believe Burr to be around 2 years old, and currently weighs around 10 lbs (but still needs to put on a few more pounds). You may apply to adopt Burr at www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. Burr is vaccinated, FELV tested negative, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $50. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.

My mom and my husband found Luffy (like Mondey D. Luffy from One Piece) at the property they manage when he was about 5 or 6 weeks old. We brought him home in the hopes that he would be a nice addition to our small family. He can be very sweet when he wants to be, but he plays too rough around our 3 year old. I think he is just a little too wild for a home with young children. He would probably do very well in a home where someone has plenty of time to spend with him and give him the attention he deserves. He does like to go outside occasionally, but he is primarily an inside cat. He is now about 8 or 9 months old, and he has been neutered and all of his shots are up to date.

But it’s his loving personality that truly steals hearts—he’s playful, gentle, and so eager to share his affection with people who will give him the love he deserves. After all he’s been through, Donette deserves a family who will cherish him forever, and we hope that special home comes quickly. He would make a wonderful addition to almost any household, ready to show off his playful side while snuggling close to his humans. Donette was rescued as part of one of the most severe neglect cases our Humane Society team has ever encountered. Thirty-three animals were removed from a Dayton residence in devastating conditions: no running water, trash and waste piled high, and many animals confined to cages coated in their own filth. The surviving animals were immediately brought to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, where they began receiving lifesaving care, clean spaces, fresh food, and the comfort they had been denied for so long. Despite the tragedy of his past and the absence of his former owner, Donette’s spirit remains incredibly sweet and loving. He’s ready to leave the past behind and enjoy the warmth, care, and joy of a forever home. With patience, love, and a few toys to play with, Donette will flourish, showering his new family with affection and playful antics every single day.
