Story
For more information, please contact foster mom Yvonne at 256-520-8008.     Meet PJ... DOB 5/1/2012, female, spayed, all vetting is current, FIV+...   This beautiful girl is in love with people!! She enjoys all the attention she can charm from you and will be a fantastic companion! She does, however, truly dislike other cats. PJ also happens to be FIV+. PJ will do best in a Forever Home where she can be an only, spoiled, cherished lady - not because of her FIV+ status, but because she is unhappy around other cats. She recently lost her home when her owner was tragically killed in a car accident. Rather than let she and a few others be euthanized per the shelter's plan, our fosters stepped in. This sweet girl deserves a chance at a new happy future!   Please call her foster mom above, with your interest in meeting PJ.          July 26, 2024, 11:57 am

Story
If you want to meet some very worthy sweethearts, please call their foster moms:  Michelle 256-520-2517 or Brittany 256-975-0768.   Meet BETSY... DOB est 7/6/2018, black/white, female, spayed... BETSY is a young girl with beautiful markings!! She was trapped as a stray with her brother GRANT (solid black), when they were just a few months old this past Fall. BETSY is a total sweetheart, initially a little shy, but she'll blossom wonderfully when she finds her very own Forever Family!! Wanting only to be loved - please consider if this beauty was meant to join your happy Home... Perhaps her confident, handsome brother as well... Call a number above, if you're interested in meeting BETSY!!  July 26, 2024, 11:57 am

Story
For more information, please contact foster Richard at 256-527-5328 or Yvonne at 256-520-8008.   Meet COSTA... DOB est 7/1/2017, male, neutered...   This colorful, laid-back boy is friendly & loves attention from his humans! He likes being petted & even brushed. COSTA had a good life as an indoor cat until his owners got divorced, and neither could keep him. He was sent to a shelter that was overcrowded, but luckily was pulled by one of our rescue's fosters! He gets along well with other cats & will make a wonderful companion for some lucky Family! He will need a loving, patient adopter as this sweet boy is initially quite timid and reserved.   We know he will blossom with time, though, and he definitely knows how to soak up all the love he is given!  If you're interested in arranging to meet him, call a number listed above!!      July 26, 2024, 11:57 am

Story
If you have any questions about these girls, please call Michelle (256-520-2517) or Brittany (256-975-0768).   Katia’s estimated date of birth: 2/19/2016 Kristi’s estimated date of birth: 2/20/2011 Mother Kristi (dilute tortie) and her daughter Katia (black) came to us on February 19th (Katia) and 20th (Kristi), 2018. They were part of a large colony of outside cats who were being fed by a family. The number of cats kept growing, and the people who were feeding them asked for help. Forgotten Felines trapped all the cats in the colony, and since Katia and Kristi were both clearly pregnant, they both moved into a foster home.  Since the Winter Olympics were taking place, I named Kristi after figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi and Katia after figure skater Ekaterina Gordeeva.   Katia soon gave birth to 4 kittens, a couple weeks later, Kristi gave birth to 6 kittens!   They have been co-mothering both litters and are wonderful in caring for the kittens and for each other.  This mother-daughter pair clearly adore each other and lean on each other.  They're not sure, however, how they feel about people.   Katia, especially, would rather not have people around too much.   We originally had wanted this pair to be Adopted Together - they seemed to need each other.  However, with time it appears that they actually do better when separated - KRISTI, especially.   She has blossomed with one-on-one time with a human - and now enjoys laps & nonstop pets.  They would be fine in a home where the humans don't expect too much too soon, and are willing to be patient.   This link will take you to a video of the pair:   https://www.facebook.com/LoveAndHisses/videos/1721843727862639/   You may also browse the Love & Hisses Facebook page itself, for even more photos.    July 26, 2024, 11:57 am
