Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Jolene, lovingly referred to as Jo, was owned and loved deeply by her owner, but they unfortunately could no longer care for her, so she is in need of a new, loving home! She is an adventurous, active girl with a curious mind. She is a girl who can be with other cats, but she does not interact with them. She is usually the outcast in their lounging together. She sits by herself on a shelf or bed and gazes at her surroundings. She was owned prior to coming to Catsnap and it seems to be she misses solitary time with her owner so we would think she would do well as the only cat.   She needs a laid-back, quiet home and enjoys her treats. If she was a human, describing her would be easy: assertive, confident, bold, decisive and even authoritative. She would do well running a Fortune 500 company.     Jo is not particularly sweet but the times when she gives you love mean it is from her heart and you feel such a great tribute from her. Jo is immaculate in her personal care and neat in her foster room. She is very intelligent and cannot be tricked by a toy or a treat. She can ignore situations that she feels beneath her.     She needs a person who is content with Jo being herself. She likes people talking with her and if she feels it is an intelligent conversation, she will take part too. Sometimes she sleeps her foster's brother's bed, sometimes not. She likes watching him on the computer and listens to music with him. She is an original girl.   Thank you for your interest in a CATsNAP cat or kitten!   If you would like to meet a cat, please complete the online application located on our website catsnap.org.    We do not have a walk-in facility; most of our cats are in foster homes.  For this reason, we require an approved application on file before we set up a meet and greet. &#226&#128&#139 Completing an online application does not obligate you to adopt! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Beth - She would do best in a home that is calm and not a lot of commotion. She feels most comfortable and safe when she has a strong male cat friend around. So if you have one, she might enjoy spending time with him. Beth has began coming out of her shell and shows her best self in the morning before the chaos of the day begins. Our morning volunteers have stated that she greets them in the morning and will follow them around. She gets nervous when a lot of activity is happening at our building and will tend to avoid the activity by sitting up high watching the action from afar. Beth is READY for a home! She says she has been at Catsnap for much too long. She absolutely loves wand toys and will chirp away through the door if she sees us playing with a different cat. She likes to be the queen of the clan, but does get along with other cats. She will do best in a home with someone who is willing to spend some time playing with the wand to keep her entertained.   She is a watcher! She will perch on high and make sure all is well and then explore. She is extremely intelligent and knows how to avoids confrontations and drama with other cats. First sign of trouble up she goes on her perch.   Along with being entertained Beth needs to trust and bond with her owner. She has been with Catsnap since a baby and her resting witch face and her watchful attitude and daunting stare has put many adopters off.   Our Catsnap staff nursed Barbie and Beth through distemper and they were the only siblings that made it. We love them, because they are survivors. Distemper treatment was tough on them with all the shots done, but they are alive because they are tough kitties. While 12 other kittens didn’t make it, they did. Grace and their determination!  She is a cat that marches to her own drummer! Bold at times and runs at times! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Playful, Talkative, and Independent Ivan is our philosopher and our poet at the building with his mind containing the secrets of his species from eons long past. He is highly intelligent and loves to share his thoughts with anyone interested. O ur volunteers love to listen to him and while listening to all he has to say, they get to love on him! Besides Ivan's lovable talkative features, he also loves to play. He can play a little rough with the younger felines, but not in a malicious way. He just likes to have the upper hand.  Please note that Ivan is FIV +.  Feline immunodeficiency virus  (FIV) . The primary mode of transmission for FIV is through bite wounds  from an infected cat. Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing  water bowls or mutual grooming, does not appear to be an efficient route  of spreading the virus. As a result, cats in households with stable  social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of  acquiring FIV infections.  FIV-infected cats exist worldwide, but the  prevalence of infection varies greatly. In North America, approximately  2.5-5% percent of healthy cats are infected with FIV. Rates are  significantly higher (15 percent or more) in cats that are sick or at  high risk of infection. Because FIV is transmitted through deep bite  wounds, un-neutered male cats with outdoor access, especially those who  are likely to fight with other cats, are at the greatest risk for FIV  infection. However, it is important to realize that while it is  impossible to predict the survival of a given cat infected with FIV,  cats infected with FIV can live very normal, healthy lives for many  years if managed appropriately. Dogs and humans cannot catch it and it,  to repeat, is shared by deep bite wounds.
