Story
Hi, I'm Chloe, and I am so glad you are taking a look at me. I'm a sweet who can be a bit reserved, at first. I'm a cat who loves to sleep, eat, and snoop! I can be a bit nervous when new people come into my personal space, so I would love my future adopter to go slow with me. I love keeping my 4 paws on the ground. I would love a quiet home where I can be the only cat. My foster mom says: Her personality is still emerging. She was shy and aloof at first, but after almost two weeks, Chloe is now seeking affection. She loves cuddle time and scratches, even getting gently brushed for a short time. However, she gets startled if there is a noise or sudden movement and will run off. Chloe doesn't care for canned food much. She does love to chase a string and play with toys. I've made friends with every staff member and volunteer who's met me! Would you like to be my friend too? Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Hi, I'm Spumoni. I am so glad you are taking a look at me. I am currently in a foster home, running around with my foster feline brothers. I love a good feathered wand toy and will play for hours if you let me. I prefer the company of my feline foster brothers over my foster (human) parents. I love exploring and need to investigate any new item in my foster home! I always need to be in the same room as my humans, laying on their bed or on the couch next to them, I just prefer for them not to pet me, but I love when my feline foster brothers wrestle or cuddle with me! With time and understanding, I know I can be the best second or third cat for someone! Please reach out to mfry@ahconnects.org or call (847)697-2880x40 my foster mom would love to talk about me to you! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hey there, I'm Dax, the epitome of boundless energy and mischief wrapped up in a furry little package! Life's an endless playground for me, and I'm here to seize every moment with gusto. Sure, I come with a little quirk-a mild heart murmur-but let me tell you, it doesn't dampen my spirits one bit. I'll grow up just fine, with a little extra TLC and some check-ups along the way. But for now, I'm too busy chasing dreams and toys to worry about what's down the road. When I'm not zooming around the house like a furry tornado, you'll likely find me engaging in epic wrestling matches with my feline comrades. I thrive on that rough-and-tumble play, and I'm always on the lookout for pals who can keep up with my level of enthusiasm. I have seen dogs at the shelter and I'm very curious about them! I may not mind having a canine roommate that is well-trained, cat-friendly, and has patience for a young and goofy kitty such as myself. But beneath all the silliness and shenanigans, there's a heart of gold yearning for love and affection. Whether I'm pouncing on feather toys or curling up for a cuddle session, I'm all about spreading joy and laughter wherever I go. So, if you're in the market for a playful companion who's equal parts goofy and lovable, look no further than yours truly, Dax the kitten sensation! Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email northaurora@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 80, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Takis is not your average feline - he's a big kitty with an even bigger personality! Weighing in at a sturdy 13 pounds, Takis is a striking presence in any room. Takis is a social butterfly who gets along famously with both cats and dogs, proving that harmony among different species is indeed possible. Takis is looking for a special kind of home. He thrives in an environment where his humans are a bit older, mature, and have prior experience with cats. Given his handling sensitivities, Takis kindly requests an adult-only home where he can feel safe and respected. Though he's not one for cuddles or being picked up, he's more than happy to share his space and playtime with his humans. Despite his size, Takis has retained his kitten-like enthusiasm for life. He's always up for a game of chase or a round of pouncing on his favorite toys. Takis is incredibly responsive and listens well to cues, making him a joy to interact with. While he may not seek out cuddles, he shows his affection in other ways, such as playing with toys. If you're looking for a loyal companion who brings endless entertainment and charm to your home, Takis is the purr-fect match for you! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. No Bowel or Bladder Control Trooper is an incredibly happy girl who shines so bright she simply lights up the room. She is very affectionate with an amazing purr that speaks louder than words about how much she appreciates a good round of play and cuddles. Even with the significant trauma she experienced at such a tender age she has continued to be a truly magical creature.   Always bouncing around and chattering non-stop about her day. She r uns and plays   like any other kitten and has no knowledge that she is any different. Trooper arrived to us at just 6 weeks old with a horrific tail injury. It took many months for the swelling to subside and the wound to heal.  Although her pain must have been significant, she never seemed to have a bad day. She tolerated regular warm baths and daily healing medicine like a true champ. Unfortunately, even with loads of TLC and multiple vet consults, the tail injury likely resulted in nerve damage and Trooper has not regained control of her bowel or bladder.   Trooper will require a very special adopter. Her person will need to understand that she will require regular baths and periodic grooming to keep her clean. This may well be a life-time commitment and as such should be thoughtfully considered when deciding to apply for her.  HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. While we aim to be as accurate as possible, each animal is individual and their behaviors and personalities can change in different surroundings.  HWMAR holds no guarantees to personality, behavior or breed. *Please review our adoption process & complete an application on our website - www.hoofwoofmeow.org/adoption  **We are a 100% volunteer rescue.  All of our cats are in Foster Homes  **Submission of an application does not guarantee adoption of any specific animal as they may have applications pending or might not be the right match for you.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 27, 2024, 10:35 pm

Story
Are you ready to open your heart to an extra special feline friend? Look no further than Max, a 3.5-year-old male cat with a heart of gold and a unique condition: moderate cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) is a neurological condition where the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for coordination and balance, is underdeveloped. This underdevelopment can lead to symptoms such as tremors, uncoordinated movements, and difficulty with balance and spatial awareness. Cats with moderate cerebellar hypoplasia can still lead happy and fulfilling lives, especially in homes where they receive understanding and supportive care. Despite his condition, Max is a complete love bug who adores snuggling up right beside you and purring contentedly. While he may not be the rough-and-tumble type, he's definitely up for some gentle playtime, especially if it involves receiving pets and cuddles. His CH may somewhat limit him, but he's far from letting it hold him back. He's a pro at using the litter box and has no trouble enjoying his meals. Plus, he's quite adept at getting around, although he does need to avoid stairs and any over-enthusiastic dogs who might try to chase him. This observant and gentle soul is fantastic with kids and would likely do well with other calm animals who understand his needs. Max is truly the master of the love flop, ready to give you all the affection his big heart holds. Reach out to us today to learn more about welcoming Max into your loving home! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives.
