Story
Lux is a very special black female kitten looking for her forever home. Despite facing challenges early in life, Lux's resilient spirit shines brightly. She has scarring in both her eyes from severe infections when she was younger, but she can still see some things and is not in any discomfort. Lux navigates her foster home with ease and can see the movement of toys across the room. Additionally, Lux has hyperextension of both wrists, resulting in a visible deformity. Although splints were used to improve this condition, it was not completely resolved. However, Lux remains active and can do all the normal kitten things without pain, walking on the backs of her front paws like a little gorilla. She's a bundle of joy and energy, ready to bring love and happiness to her new family. Kittens like Lux are playing machines and snuggle buddies! Yep, the best of both worlds. I know her cute face is irresistible, but remember that she will take up lots of your time and attention while she grows. Exploring your home is what she does best...are you up for the challenge and the fun? Kittens do best in pairs and that means you get twice as much trouble, twice as much fun, and twice as much love! What's more fun than one kitten - two, of course! To encourage adoptions of kittens in pairs, if adopted with a kitten buddy, the adoption fee for both kittens will be $500.00. If you are interested in meeting adorable Lux, email amasten@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 45, and we will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Roger is what some might call a "slow to warm" cat. If you're an experienced cat owner looking for a challenge and a rewarding companion, Roger might just be the perfect match for you. He takes his time to trust and feel comfortable in new surroundings. However, once he settles in, he begins to reveal his playful and curious nature. Roger prefers the company of other kitties, finding solace and companionship in their presence. Roger's ideal home is with adults who understand the ins and outs of cat behavior and are patient and compassionate. He thrives in an environment where there are other cats to interact with, but he also needs a space where he can have his independence respected. For this reason, Roger is best suited for a home without children. Roger does have his quirks and understanding his boundaries and providing positive reinforcement can help him work through these behaviors. If you're considering welcoming Roger into your home, there are a few things you can do to help him feel more comfortable and secure: Patience and Understanding: Give Roger the time he needs to adjust to his new environment. Be patient with his progress and respect his boundaries. Positive Reinforcement: Use treats and praise to reward Roger for good behavior. This will help him associate positive experiences with human interaction. Provide Enrichment: Keep Roger stimulated and engaged with interactive toys and activities. This will help positively channel his energy and prevent boredom. For the right person or family, Roger can be a loyal companion. If you're willing to invest the time and effort into building a trusting relationship with Roger, you'll be rewarded with a playful and loving feline friend for years to come. Roger is an All-Star cat! My adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption! His adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and he will go home with a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Roger, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello, lovely humans! My name is Meredith, I'm a soft, gentle soul with a heart full of affection just waiting to share it with the finest people who cross my path. While I may be a bit shy at first, it doesn't take long for me to come out of my shell and show my true colors. Once I warm up to you, get ready for some serious cuddle sessions and endless purrs that rival the sound of a well-oiled engine. I'm not just all about snuggles, though - I have a playful side too! I absolutely adore a good game of laser tag, especially when paired with a dash of catnip to really get the party started. But don't worry, I know when it's time to settle down, and there's nothing I love more than lounging in a warm lap, content and relaxed. If you're thinking about bringing me into your home (and trust me, you won't regret it), just remember to take things slow at first. Introduce me to my new kingdom at my pace, starting off in a cozy, comfortable room where I can feel safe and secure. With a little patience and understanding, you'll soon see why my foster family says I'm worth the wait. While I may be most comfortable the company of women and gentle children, I'm willing to give anyone a chance as long as they treat me with kindness and respect. And when it comes to food, well, let's just say I'm a bit of a gourmet. Fancy Feast, both wet and dry, is fit for a queen like me, and nothing makes me happier than a delicious meal. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Story
Introducing Ginger, the delightful explorer with a heart of gold! At just 1 year old, Ginger is still finding her footing in the world but has already blossomed into a charming companion. Her foster parent shares some insights into her unique personality: When Ginger first arrived at her foster home, she sought refuge under the bed, understandably cautious in her new environment. However, as the days passed, she grew more confident and quickly discovered her love for affectionate pets and gentle chin scratches. Her endearing habit of rolling around and making "air-biscuits" adds an extra touch of sweetness to her already adorable demeanor. While she hasn't quite warmed up to sitting on laps yet, she enjoys lounging nearby, soaking in the comforting presence of her humans. A born explorer, Ginger eagerly embraces the opportunity to roam and investigate her surroundings. She eagerly makes use of her foster cat space and is always keen to venture further, expressing an interest in exploring more of the house. Ginger's playful side shines through as she eagerly engages with every toy offered to her, showing a zest for life and curiosity about the world around her. In the realm of culinary delights, Ginger is not one to be overly picky. She happily indulges in both canned and dry food, showing a particular fondness for pat textures, especially when paired with the delectable flavor of turkey. Wellness brand food has won her favor, with Ginger hardly noticing the addition of gabapentin powder in her favorite meals. With impeccable litter box manners, Ginger proves herself to be a tidy and well-behaved housemate. Despite her initial shyness, Ginger isn't afraid to voice her desires, expressing herself with a melodic meow when seeking attention or in response to the sounds of her feline companions. She exhibits a gentle curiosity towards other cats, reaching out with her paw under the door to make connections. While she may still be a bit skittish around loud noises and sudden movements, her gentle nature shines through, making her an ideal companion for a quieter home environment. With her sweet demeanor and affectionate disposition, Ginger would thrive in a home where she can receive patient and gentle care from adults or older children. Given time and understanding, she's sure to blossom into a beloved member of the family, ready to embark on new adventures with her forever family by her side. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Any adoption inquiries should be directed to the owner at Ellie2979@yahoo.com or (630) 391-3963. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. Luke is so friendly, and quirky. I found him at 2 years old as a stray. No telling what he got into before that but I was told he might've fallen off a cargo truck from Georgia. He wasn't fixed and had worms. He was warming up one day under my ex-boyfriend's truck and then he became mine. FF 3 years. Luke is a charming, large, and fully healthy 5 year old and 1 month male cat. When inside, his favorite thing to so is sprawl out while he and his human watch tv. He is the best co-pilot.!! He also likes to daydream by the window, listening for critters or birds. When outside, he likes sprawling out on the cool ground, walking in gardens, and picking at plants. He has gotten loose 2 or 3 times, where I found him within the same day in the neighbors gardens, and once he just walked back to the front door where his food and water were. I brush him routinely with Burts Bees waterless shampoo. He is a very sheddy orange cat. The vet says American shorthair but I don't know where the "short hair" classification comes from because I could go on brushing him and removing hair from him for days. He acts like he doesn't like to be brushed but he does. He loves being a pretty boy. As long as you keep him clean he shouldn't provoke any allergy problems. His favorite toys and cat beds are anything colorful that is truly unique, just like him. He like crunchy treats and that is usually how I care for his dental health. I have also used minty gel which he really enjoys. He likes Shiba catfood, and meow mix dry food. If you mix it together for him that's just the best. Praying Luke and I find a forever home give him the stimulation, safe environment, and needs to be met that he deserves. Currently, my household has adopted a pitbull who is untrained and uncrated. And Luke is left for long periods of time, often days, in the master bedroom, where the dog barks and pushes/knocks at the door. I'm also 5 months pregnant and just want to find the right home and situation for him before the baby comes and there is even less I can do.... Please consider adopting this cutie!! It would mean the world to me!

Story
Meet Zoe, a gentle and shy kitty with a heart full of love to give. Zoe may seem reserved at first, but with a little patience and understanding, she will blossom into a sweet and affectionate companion. Her initial shyness is just her way of getting to know her new surroundings and the people in them. Once Zoe feels comfortable and secure, her true personality shines through. She adores gentle scratches and will eagerly seek out your attention when she feels at ease. Her sweet, loving nature makes her a wonderful companion for those who take the time to earn her trust. Zoe values her own space and enjoys quiet moments where she can relax and feel safe. A calm and understanding environment is ideal for her, where she can have her own cozy spot to retreat to whenever she needs. Zoe would thrive in a quieter home with patient and loving owners who can offer her the time she needs to adjust. Families or individuals who appreciate the unique bond that comes from earning a shy cat's trust will find a loyal and loving friend in Zoe.
