Story
Meatball is a friendly, playful guy who is about a year and half old. He is Fiv+, but he`s not aggressive, so he is safe to mix with other cats. He is currently in a temporary home with two older cats who are not into playing, much to Meatball`s dismay. If you have a playful kitty who needs a playmate, consider Meatball! He also gets along with small children. He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He has had flea prevention and dewormer. The adult cat adoption fee is $50. If you are interested in meeting this adorable guy, please complete the cat adoption form and we will set up a time for you to meet him.Application: https://safehomerescue.org/how-to-adopt/cat-adoption-form/

Story
This cat is participating in our Camp Purr working cat program, which is designed for feral or semi-feral cats that would be happiest living outside as working cats. Adopters must provide shelter and food/water to these cats year-round and need to be willing to work with our Camp Purr team to ensure these cats are acclimated appropriately and humanely to their new environment. Because these cats are familiar with the other cats they are living with currently, we require that all Camp Purr cats be adopted with at least one other Camp Purr cat. The adoption fee for each cat in this program is just $25, and all cats have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. HOW TO ADOPT: These cats are available by appointment only to ensure our team has adequate time to assist you. To get started, please answer a few questions here and a Camp Purr Counselor will email you soon. Primary Color: Brown Tiger Age: 0yrs 8mths 0wks

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org ---- Very sweet and shy kitty- A gentle, sweet cat who is very motivated by food - that is the way to her heart- Enjoys playing with string toys- Will thrive as the only cat in her new home- Children are not a good fit for her, so she is looking for a more mature home- Will thrive as the only cat in her new home, but if you do have another cat, it will need be a cat who will be a laid-back companion for her, and not in her face- Looking for a home with patient family members who will give her time to open up and let her take things at her own pace. She does best when she starts out in her own room and is slowly introduced to the rest of the house and other pets over a few weeks- Has a lot of love to give and will be a wonderful companion for a quiet person or two who will allow her to settle in at her own slow pace. Please plan on giving her plenty of time in her new home. She is worth the wait! - Will be a terrific friend for a calm, patient person who loves the quiet life just like she does- Was very fearful when she arrived at the shelter, but she has been coming out of her shell and is a total sweetheart with the people she feels comfortable with- This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience, and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life! All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Tortoiseshell Weight: 6.65 Age: 2yrs 10mths 3wks

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Arrived at the ARL undersocialized and has made great progress in a foster home; looking for a patient family who will give him time to settle in and help him continue to gain confidence- Likes to play with soft ball toys and scratching posts, rest in high places and look out windows - Takes some time to warm up but is loving once he does and enjoys pets, although he'd prefer if you steer clear of his belly - Likes wet food and dry snacks as treats - Not super comfortable with being picked up right now, so his new family may need to work with him gradually on that - Still easily startled, so a calm predictable home may be best for him - Has been fine with small dogs in his foster home - Likes to play with other cats in his foster home All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Brown Tiger Secondary Color: White Age: 1yrs 1mths 0wks
