Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Looking for a barn cat? Photos in this listing are simply generic photos. Since our barn kitty "inventory" changes, we only use generic photos but are able to send you specific photos of cats available when you put in a barn cat application with your interest and what you are looking for. SCHS has male and female cats who are in need of forever homes in barns! Short haired, medium haired, long haired, a variety of colors and patterns, and ages . . . .these cats are more comfortable living outdoors and would prefer country livin' over roughing it indoors and would love to lounge on a bale of hay, roost in your barn, peruse stalls and ensure your farm has no rodent problems while bringing it charm and meows! Each of these cats has already been spayed/neutered, is current on all shots, Feluk/FIV tested, treated for fleas with Revolution and de-wormed. We have feral cats, but also some that are not feral but still better suited for an outdoor home. These are  cats which are maybe shy with people or skittish, do not get along with other pets in close proximity, or simply cats which don't like to be held or petted much but enjoy looking out the window or tackling furry mice at their foster home instead! Email today to get more info on our selection of kitties that are suitable for country living on the farm and we will be happy to assist!  To support our foster and adoption program, a donation of $25 is requested for a barn kitty adoption.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 17, 2024, 9:26 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello! My name is Julie and I am a shadow cat and love to rub on your legs for attention. I also have this cute trick of standing on my hind legs to make sure you rub my head and ears with your hand. I like to love nip and hold you to me sweetly with my paws too! I just want all your affection and will make someone a sweet companion. I love Salmon food, ball toys to chase, and taking naps on blankets. I am only 1 year old and have all the playful kitten energy anyone could ask for. I am a Feline Leukemia positive kitty, so I'm only supposed to hang out with other feline leukemia kitties like me or ones that are vaccinated for Feline Leukemia. Feline Leukemia does also mean that I will most likely have a shorter life span than most cats, but I will be your best friend for all of it! If you would like to meet me or need more information on feline leukemia cats, please contact the Scott County Humane Society to schedule a meeting. Estimated DOB:   02/28/2023 Her adoption fee is waived and we will cover any vet expenses related to feline leukemia for life.   Adoption fee: waived but donations always appreciated.    We would love to hear from you! Story
Jolyne is fully blind in one eye and partially blind in the other. She's about 3.5 years old. I adopted Jolyne a little over 2 years ago, hoping that she would bond with my other cat, and that they could provide each other with company and companionship when I needed to leave home. At the time, I didn't know that she had severe anxiety issues and that she doesn't get along with other cats. I don't know what her history was like before I adopted her, but I suspect that she's had some traumatic experiences. I'm confident that she'll definitely do better in an environment without any other pets, and with an owner that can give her the attention and care that she deserves. When she feels safe in a controlled environment, she's very playful and curious.

Story
Mr. Crowley quite literally appeared out of nowhere, as he ran around the corner of our house and through our front door. He didn’t seem like a stray at first, as he is super calm around our big dog and loves being held. We did everything we could to check for owners, including a chip (he is not chipped) and have been holding onto him in our home for a while, separated from our other pets waiting for someone to come forward but to no avail. It has been over a month, and our other cat that has been with us for years is really stressed out with Crowley in the house and we can no longer keep him, because I am worried about my cats health. I would love to find a great home for him, one that he deserves and can roam freely in the house.

Story
Everyone meet Edgar! We got him because our old roommate abandoned him with us and we have been taking care of him ever since. We have to rehome him due to no fault of his own what so ever our cat just does not want another male in his house which I understand. Edgar is very very funny he loves to be with you and meow at you for pets and love! He loves to be in the bathroom it is his favorite room in the house he will just sit and look in the mirror or sit at ur feet while you get ready. He knows no stranger and loves all attention! He would do best in a home with another cat who is playful and wants a friend! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions i want him to go to a great home 🥰
