Story
Meet Rose. She was born in June of 2021. Rosie was adopted from LIFE House as a kitten but was returned to LIFE House 2 years later when the couple who adopted her divorced. Rosie was an only cat and is a bit overwhelmed now that she is living in a room with 10 other cats. Rosie prefers attention from people. She is a bit timid at first, but once she gets used to you, she becomes a love bug and an attention hog! She would very much like to be back in a home situation. Story
8/30/22 Today I marked Cola as bonded with Kami. They have been Guests at Life House since they were kittens. October 25, 2019 is their intake date. Kami, pictured with one of her favorite volunteers, is the one that did not always play well with others, however Cola seems to get along fine according to the stories I have heard. They will be a little shy when you meet them as they have had private guest quarters for most of their stay. If you are looking for a pair of cats to add to your home, please consider these two! We believe they will warm up to anyone with a little time, however, if you are not sure, please consider fostering them for a while. They will change your mind. Cola was born in April of 2019. She and her sister Kammi, were rescued by a good Samaritan. She gets along with other cats in her room. She can be a bit shy at first, but loves being petted and loves to play with string on stick toys. Cola would do best with someone who has prior cat experience. Cola and Kammi seem to be rather bonded with Cola being the more dominant of the two. Story
This little girl is Debby. She was born in 2019. She came to us from Meade County where she was brought in as a stray. She had some hard times, and takes a bit of time to trust and warm up, but she has definitely been a pet at some point. She is a quiet, reserved girl. She is not aggressive towards other cats, but stays to herself. She prefers the attention of humans. She would very much like a forever home with someone who will be patient with her and build her confidence. Story
This is Marlie. She was born in 2018. She likes attention from people, but does not care much for other cats. She has a bit of "cattitude", but she will do ANYTHING for Temptation treats!! She would do best with someone who has prior cat experience and is willing to accept Marlie as she is: mostly affectionate, but with the ability to be a little contrary sometimes (like most of us)! She was born in April 2019. She and her sister, Cola, came to Lifehouse when they were rescued by a good Samaritan. Both cats experienced some trauma as kittens and were very scared for the first few weeks after coming to Lifehouse. Kammi has made great strides but is still shy. She and Cola are used to being together, although each would probably do fine without the other in the right home. Kammi LOVES being petted. Once you earn her trust, you have a friend for life. Kammi would probably do best in a quieter household and with someone who has prior cat experience. Not good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Summer is a bit like a sour patch kid, she's a little bit of a brat but then she'll flop over next to you and meow and any annoyance you had will melt away. She's very playful and will not take no for an answer when it comes to her snuggles. Summer is also quite shy, and its most likely going to take at least a week for her to warm up to you. See, Summer was born feral and trapped at 6 weeks old with her siblings, and she still has a bit of that fear of people left that we just cant seem to get rid of. Like most cats she is not a fan of cat carriers, car rides, or dogs. She does however love food, and any transgressions will be forgiven after a few treats. Summer is cat friendly and we highly suggest adopting her with another kitten/cat, she does not like to be alone and absolutely needs a buddy.

Story
Cheddar is a orange male around 3-5 years old from what we can tell. In May 2022, he was abandoned in a hotel room. The hotel staff tried many times to contact the people who left him to no avail. We immediately took him in. This sweet boy is extremely playful and lovey, his favorite activity is bird watching and will often spend hours looking out the window of his foster home watching all the birds. He requires a lot of play and mental stimulation, without it he does tend to nip. As they say, a bored kitty is a naughty kitty. Cheddar does not get along with other cats or dogs, despite multiple attempts to introduce him to other cats. He currently resides in his fosters home office, we would love to be able to give him a home with more room to run around and play as he does need a lot of activity. Cheddar is just a big sweetheart (and he is BIG) and all we could ever want for him is a stable forever home where he can watch birds and play. Due to his tendency to nip when bored, we do not recommend he go to a home with small children. He will require daily play time, his personal favorite toy so far is a fuzzy worm on a string, and lots of things to keep him occupied (tunnels, cat trees, toys, windows to look out of.) When he is ready to settle down, he loves to lay in your lap for hours and take a nice long nap.

Story
COTTON has an angel looking out for her! She was a stray that was hiding her babies in a flowerpot on a neighbors porch earlier this winter before the extreme cold! We got a call from the neighbor who dabbles in helping stray animals and we agreed to take the family! Cotton has turned out to be a lovely cat! She's probably around 1 year of age and has turned out to be quite the friendly girl! She's a medium size cat, weighing in at around 11 pounds currently. Her nose is pinkish red and her coloring is gray and white. She is very sweet and affectionate and loves a good neck scratch. She is litter box trained and is fully vetted, including spay and microchip, and ready to find a loving family! She is fine with dogs and seems to get along with other cats as well. If you think you might be a good fit for this sweet momma cat, please email us at blueridgerescue@aol.com for an application or with questions!
