Story
Meet Ivy!Ivy is a timid, quiet, mellow girl who enjoys the simple things in life; gentle attention, people watching, and curling up in cozy beds. Ivy was brought back to KVHS due to no fault of her own; she has previously lived with other kitties and done ok with them. Ivy is also on a prescription C/D diet, this helps prevent crystals from forming in her urine which could lead to blockages. This is a vet prescribed diet! Due to her fearful behaviors, Ivy would love a home with children over the age of 12.Interested in meeting Ivy? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Story
Meet Penny!Do you like independent? Spirited? A bit of a kick to her personality? Penny is your girl! She has not shown her real personality here at KVHS. She can be best described as a sour patch kids; sometimes she's sweet, sometimes she's sour. In her previous home, she was described as "Playful, affectionate, friendly, and shy." We have not seen her shy side, though! Penny has previously lived with a female cat, and her previous owner recommends she can live with other cats! We are recommending that she go to a dog-free home. Penny has also been an inside only kitty! Due to some of her behaviors we have seen here, she's looking for a home with older children (Ages 10+) that will respect her boundaries!Interested in meeting Penny? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Meet Luci! This girl loves to burrow under blankets, watch the world go by, and is pretty content on hanging by herself. Here at the shelter, she's been a little shut down. She enjoys gentle attention and soft talk! Luci's ideal home would be one free of young children and dogs; they make her nervous! As for other cats, she has previously lived with them and done ok!Interested in meeting this sweet girl? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Story
Meet Max!This sweet, older, happy guy LOVES to be with people. Max may be 10, but he doesn't act like an old man. He's active, chatty, and laid back. Max's ideal home would be one that will keep him INSIDE. Why? Because this guy has FeLV, which is feline leukemia virus. This is a disease passed from cat to cat, no other animals (Or humans) can get it. Sadly, it does shorten the lifespan 2-3 years when they contract it. We do not know when Max obtained this. Cat's with FeLV should have a good relationship with their vet, don't need any special medications, no special diets (Although a high-quality diet is always recommended), and to remain indoors only. Max has previously lived with other cats and did well; that said, he can ONLY go to a home if the other cats are also FeLV+!Interested in meeting this distinguished gentleman? Swing on down to KVHS to meet him!

Story
Meet Mickey Mouse!Mickey here is a simple guy; he can be a bit shy at first and takes a second to warm up to new people. He is currently on a diet because his chunky butt loves food! Why a diet, you ask? He has a hard time reaching to groom himself and has had matting on his back! It's since been shaved, but he needs to lose a few pounds so he can groom himself! Mickey Mouse has also previously lived with another kitty and we think he'd do good with them! We do not know how he does with dogs, though!Interested in meeting Mickey? Story
Chloe is a sweet but very timid kitty who is looking for a calm and quiet home. She needs a patient and loving family who can give her all the time she needs to really settle in to the new environment. She will likely hide for the first few weeks in her new home but we are sure that once she warms up that she'll be very affectionate. Although we don't know much about her previous history we believe that she would do best in a home with older children who can give her space when she needs it. We are unsure of how she would do with other animals. If you are interested in Chloe and think that she would be a wonderful addition to your family please come in and ask about her!

Story
This rare and elusive creature is a Land Shark. This one seems to be a slightly older female. This Land Shark would thrive in a home with catnip toys, cat towers and enrichment to keep her busy and happy. She will need sunny windows to sit in as she requires sun and entertainment to thrive. A home without other animals or children is her preferred habitat. She requires a balanced diet of healthy food and despite being a Land Shark, will need fresh water daily. As a common Land Shark behavior, she loves to roll around and show her family her belly to show her trust and love for you and beg for attention at her convenience. If you are interested in adopting Land Shark, please stop by to see her!

Story
This handsome stud is Oriole and he loves to play! Oriole is a cat who would thrive with lots of enrichment and exercise as he is happiest when he has things to do! He can become overstimulated at times and would love a family who will give him space when he wants alone time and a cat tree or perches would be great for him to enjoy some personal space! He likes to take his time to decompress but can be very sweet on his terms and has a funny personality once he is all settled in. A home with older children would be best because of this. He would prefer a home as the only pet so he can be King of his new castle! Oriole will need to meet with his potential adopters many times to gain trust with them before being able to go home!Come in to meet more about this playful, wonderful kitty!

Story
I am 15 years old and searching for a relaxing home to retire to as I have been stressed listening to all the dogs and cats around me in the shelter. I am VERY talkative and know how to project my voice so I can make sure you heard me! I am a spunky, independent cat who knows what I want and am sure to let you know. It can take me some time to really warm up to people and do best with people who are willing to understand how I communicate and let me explore things at my own pace. I LOVE wet food and go crazy for catnip! Unfortunately, my previous owner got me declawed. Like many cats, it really affected my positive attitude and I tend to be a bit on the feisty side because of it. Due to my strong personality I will need to be the only animal in the home. And even though they are cute I won't get along well with kids. A mature home where I can roam free and do my own thing would be ideal. I may have an interesting first impression but I deserve a loving home with the right family. Please meet me if you think you want to take me home!

Story
Chicken Pot Pie, is a darling companion deeply bonded to his feline friend, Mashed Potatoes. Despite his inherent shyness, the presence of Mashed Potatoes brings out a sense of comfort and reassurance in Chicken Pot Pie's world. He tends to be reserved, finding solace in the company of other cats rather than human interactions. Although initially hesitant around people, Chicken Pot Pie may slowly start to feel more at ease after observing other cats in the home positively interacting with humans, although this process will take time and patience. In his quest for a tranquil indoor-only home, Chicken Pot Pie seeks a quiet environment with no children. He may do okay in a home with calm dogs who respect his space. With a patient and understanding family, Chicken Pot Pie, alongside his friend Mashed Potatoes, will thrive and gradually open up, making a heartwarming addition to a loving and quiet household.

Story
CowCat is a charming and endearing white and black feline who has a playful charm. He has endearing qualities and is looking for a home that understands his quirky behavior and can understand when he's looking for personal space. He would thrive in a family that understands his likes and dislikes so older children would be best. He has lived with other cats before but can be unsure about new feline companions sometimes. He may do ok with another cat in the home after slow, proper introductions. His social and goofy personality will shine through once he's comfortable in his new home. Come by and meet him if you are interested!
