Story
Junior was initially slated to be a barn cat but after being with us for a bit we realized that he had potential and would prefer the indoor life! Junior is approximately 2 years old and is still a little rough around the edges. He loves cheek scratches and treats. He will swat if he wants more love and will give a warning bite if you dare touch his belly. He loves to curl up next to us at night and watch birds during the day. Junior would prefer to be the only cat in the home. He has been ok with our old husky but older kids only (12+) due to his need for ongoing manner refinement. Junior is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and treated for fleas/ticks/worms. He is available to an indoor only home with no declawing. If interested in giving this hunk his forever home please email FoFF foster coordinator, Cindy, at cmm283@yahoo.com.

Story
After 1.5 years at the Ranch battling ear/sinus infections and ultimately undergoing surgery to definitively correct their issues……Tony and Meadow (littermates) have a clean bill of health and are now available for adoption together. Tony (black male) and Meadow (brown tabby female) will be 2 years old this coming March and are the absolute sweetest cats! They are on the small side and have old souls. They love to snuggle, are the first ones at the dinner table and never miss nightly bedtime snacks. They love to play with toys, especially the spring toys, which Tony will carry to the top of the stairs, drop, then chase it down the stairs. Tony and Meadow are good with other cats, dogs and kids. They are neutered/spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and treated for fleas/ticks/worms. They are available to an indoor only home with no declawing. Story
Gingersnap came to us with a very common and heartbreaking sad situation as a stray that landed in a kill shelter in Tennessee.   This beautiful girl was so terrified and despite that the shelter staff knew she  had a sweet spirit about her.   The shelter could have adopted her out because she is FIV positive.  Her way out alive was if she was to leave  with a reputable rescue that knew how to place cats like her.  She is very healthy and we have learned so much about cats living long and wonderful lives even with the FIV diagnosis.  She does not care for other cats and that is fine she cannot be around cats unless they are also FIV positive.   I'm sure she could adjust with another cat but she tends to just run away from them and she hisses and growls at dogs.  She would be a wonderful cat for a quiet home with a retired couple or empty nesters who have had all the young children fly the nest.  We do suggest a quiet home with no dogs  she loves to sleep in her little Kitty bed and enjoys a simple existence where she can receive human love and attention.   If you are interested in this sweet girl please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   May 3, 2024, 9:46 pm

Story
Charger and Challenger are two sweet brothers who came to us without socialization. They were small scared little kittens that were rescued from outside with no mother in sight.  Over the many months that we have had them, they have started to show their distinct personalities, with Charger being very affectionate “on his terms”  and Challenger enjoying his treats and food quite a lot. Charger is the more social of the boys and manages well with other dogs and cats. Challenger prefers a much quieter environment and both boys would see great success in a home without young children/noise/chaos, which is where they are being fostered now.  This foster mom says these boys are not lap cats yet, but she believes in a quieter environment Charger could become more outgoing. Both are food and resource driven but they haven't shown interest in plants or countertops. Off and on we've seen some territorial peeing but I think that would stop if there were less animals in their environment overall.  We have a new element coming to the current foster home…an elderly mother, and we feel this will not better their environment but it will complicate it.   If you are willing to help Critter Cavalry Rescue to foster them in an understanding cat home where they can blossom without so many young people distracting them, then we would love your help!   Or if you want to adopt these boys and help them continue their growth and journey to more normalcy, then please let us know!   Contact us at viviennejames@comcast.net if you are interested. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 3, 2024, 9:46 pm

Story
Persimmon is approximately 1-year-old of April 2023 whose shiny coal-black coat really stands out in a crowd!  He is a sweet-tempered and sensitive type who was scared of his new surroundings at first but within the span of 2-3 weeks, he was all over the house and coming around his foster mom for attention and scratches by his tail.  Lately, he has with the cold weather he has become quite the snuggle bug wanting to lay on his person's lap with his favorite foster sister almost every time she sits down.  He hasn’t been around dogs very much but I believe with a proper introduction of a friendly dog and lots of patience, it should not be a problem.  In addition, he gets along well with other cats both young and adults.  He would certainly enjoy a similar-aged or friendly adult cat to tussle with as he enjoys spirited playtime with his foster siblings, but he also plays independently quite well.  He comes to you litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations so contact Rock City Rescue to adopt this dashing young man!April 19, 2024, 12:11 pm

Story
Bruno is a handsome and approximately 1-year-old (as of April 2023) cat that we all certainly need to talk about!   Not only does he have stunning eyes, a shiny coal-black coat with striking tabby markings underneath.  His body type is very slim and exotic akin to a Siamese.  He is a sweet-tempered soul with a playful personality and loves mealtimes, treats, playing hard, and sleeping on soft blankets or the cat tree.  He is a gentle soul who plays well with other kittens and gets along with adult cats in that he does not tend to pester them.  This boy plays independently quite well, but I think he would certainly enjoy a younger or active adult cat to tussle with if not a cat/kitten around his age. He can be a little shy with strangers and mostly gives his affection to people he trusts.  I believe he will blossom in an environment that will be patient with him.  He comes to you litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations so contact Rock City Rescue to adopt this unique boy.April 19, 2024, 12:11 pm

Story
Luisa is an approximately 1-year-old (as of April 2023) cat who was rescued with her three litter mates snugly tucked in behind a flower box in an unsuspecting family's backyard.  She is short and stout with stunning tabby markings and some gorgeous big eyes!  She hasn’t been around dogs thus far in her life but I don’t think it would be an issue for her.  Not one not to pester a cat that doesn’t want to be bothered, but she adores her adult foster brother and is never far out of his shadow. She likes to be part of the action laying near her people and sleeping on the bed with them most nights but prefers pets on her terms.   I'm sure she would great companion for a lonely singular cat or a person who doesn’t try to push her too much with cuddling.  She comes to you litter box trained, spayed, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations so contact Rock City Rescue to adopt this gorgeous girl. Story
Hi I’m Sam, an approximately 3-year-old adult cat, looking for my purrfect home. After raising my own five kittens, also available for adoption, I’m ready for a home where I can relax and soak up attention of my own. I would love to be the only cat as I do have a more dominant personality. I’ll come to your home litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations. If I sound like the purrfect addition to your home, email rockcityrescue@gmail.com with your name and phone number.April 19, 2024, 12:11 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Thorfinn, a ten-month-old male kitten (as of April 2023, but 5 mos when my pics were taken). I’m an equally snuggly and playful kitty, looking for my forever home. I love being active - whether that’s playtime with my foster kitty siblings (like my twin Sasappis) or my toys. I love toys of all kinds and can’t wait to show off my chasing and pouncing skills. After a hard day of play, there’s nothing I want more than to cuddle up with my people on the couch or in bed. I do well around other cats and dogs and am very people-oriented and social, making friends instantly. I’ll come to your home litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations. If I sound like the purrfect addition to your home, email rockcityrescue@gmail.com with your name and phone number.April 19, 2024, 12:11 pm

Story
Meet Hettie, a 10-monthold female kitty (as of April 2023). She’s a strong, independent and beautiful girl. Her daily routine includes playing hard with her foster siblings and favorite toys. They have so much fun playing chase and pounce! Hettie must have a home with other kitties to keep herself entertained. I’ll come to your home litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations.
