Story
This is Charlie Chaplin! He is around eight and a half years old. He only has two teeth but he doesn't let that bother him. Charlie has had a rough life. Even with everything he's been through he still is the sweetest cat. He always wants your attention and love. He enjoys sleeping on his cat tree and watching birds including his cockatiel friends. He often wants to sit on your lap or right next to you. He loves kids and has never been aggressive towards any person. He's litter box trained and has never had an accident. He loves meeting new people and has never been shy. He has had overall positive interactions with cats in the past, but since going on a diet has been taking out his frustrations (and hunger) on the smaller cat in the home.

Story
Hello, I'm Rupert (or as my foster mom likes to call me, Precious Rupies)! I'm a very snuggly guy, and am happiest when I'm in the company of my friends. I'll usually follow my humans around, happily rubbing against their legs until they pick me up. I absolutely love to be held, and often wrap my arms around your neck in a hug. I purr and purr and purr when you're near, and even enjoy belly rubs (which, as you may know, is not common for a cat). I'm honestly just so happy to be alive-- when I came to CMHS, I was at death's door. I was so cold and thin, my eyes were crusted shut, my nose was congested, and I had ulcers all over my tongue. But the veterinary team and my foster mom worked so hard to get me on the road to recovery! After lots of meds, tube feeding, and plenty of love, I'm doing much better. I'm currently eating an all wet food pate diet, and am on a special oral medication (Senvelgo) to help balance my blood sugar. Now that I'm feeling better, I'm very playful! I love to chase after interactive wand toys, bat around my mouse that squeaks when I hit it, and wrap around big plush kicker toys. I might even like another cat to wrestle with in my new home. _____________________________________________________________________ This cat came to the shelter in very poor condition with a severe upper respiratory infection (suspected to be calicivirus). He required a feeding tube to eat and extensive medical care and time in foster to improve. He likely has some ocular adhesion in his left eye from his chronic viral infection, so this eye may never appear normal. As of 4/1/24, he has improved significantly and is now eating on his own and gaining weight, although mild ocular and nasal discharge remained. He may require continued medical management with the adopter's veterinarian following adoption if upper respiratory signs remain or recur. Rupert was also diagnosed with diabetes and is currently being managed on Senvelgo. Follow-up care with the adopters veterinarian should be sought soon following adoption.

Story
Hi, I'm Athena! I'm a gentle older gal with a sweet disposition, looking for a place to call home alongside my brother, Kato. The two of us have been together since the start, and I just can't imagine life without him. We have both been very gentle and affectionate with young children in the past, but we've never been around other cats or dogs. I am fairly laid-back, but am hoping for my new family to help encourage me to exercise through interactive playtime. ____________________________________ Kato and Athena are both very obese and will need a gradual weight loss plan in consultation with adopter's veterinarian. They also have skin conditions that will need further diagnostics and treatment with adopter's veterinarian. If there are underlying food or environmental allergies causing their skin conditions, this may require ongoing management including medications and/or a special diet.

Hi, I'm Kato! I'm a gentle older guy with a sweet disposition, looking for a place to call home alongside my sister, Athena. The two of us have been together since the start, and I just can't imagine life without her. We have both been very gentle and affectionate with young children in the past, but we've never been around other cats or dogs. I have a playful side and enjoy interactive toys such as laser pointers and wand toys, and also enjoy carrying around larger stuffed toys. I'm hoping my new family will encourage me to stay active to help me shed some weight. _____________________________ Kato and Athena are both very obese and will need a gradual weight loss plan in consultation with adopter's veterinarian. Story
Sizzle is such as sweetheart. She loves chin and head scratch and will bump her head into your hand when she is asking for them. She loves to play with toys and explore her environment but also loves her quiet time. She does still get scared of loud noises and people walking by, but she has gotten much better and does not always run off to ride. While she does love being scratched on her face, she can get overstimulated very easily. She does very well in occupying herself with her toys, looking out the window, or finding a comfy place to take a nap. If you are looking for a sweet and loving companion, come meet Sizzle!
