Story
Lucky was brought to the shelter from a hoarding situation. There were around 13 cats in the home. Lucky will need a patient and understanding adopter as she adapts to her new environment. Her foster mom continues to work with her on being able to pet her-she is very skittish of people. But she shows improvement daily. She is around one year old and weighs 5-6 pounds. She is litter box trained. Lucky has so much kitten energy! She loves toys and meal time! She loves playing with her sister Ficus Audrey (also available for adoption) and the other cats in her foster home. We will require that her new home have another well -adjusted cat in the home, so she has an example to follow and a playmate!

Story
Hello, I'm Rupert (or as my foster mom likes to call me, Precious Rupies)! I'm a very snuggly guy, and am happiest when I'm in the company of my friends. I'll usually follow my humans around, happily rubbing against their legs until they pick me up. I absolutely love to be held, and often wrap my arms around your neck in a hug. I purr and purr and purr when you're near, and even enjoy belly rubs (which, as you may know, is not common for a cat). I'm honestly just so happy to be alive-- when I came to CMHS, I was at death's door. I was so cold and thin, my eyes were crusted shut, my nose was congested, and I had ulcers all over my tongue. But the veterinary team and my foster mom worked so hard to get me on the road to recovery! After lots of meds, tube feeding, and plenty of love, I'm doing much better. I'm currently eating an all wet food pate diet, and am on a special oral medication (Senvelgo) to help balance my blood sugar. Now that I'm feeling better, I'm very playful! I love to chase after interactive wand toys, bat around my mouse that squeaks when I hit it, and wrap around big plush kicker toys. I might even like another cat to wrestle with in my new home. _____________________________________________________________________ This cat came to the shelter is very poor condition with a severe upper respiratory infection (suspected to be calicivirus). He required a feeding tube to eat and extensive medical care and time in foster to improve. He likely has some ocular adhesion in his left eye from his chronic viral infection, so this eye may never appear normal. As of 4/1/24, he has improved significantly and is now eating on his own and gaining weight, although mild ocular and nasal discharge remained. He may require continued medical management with the adopter's veterinarian following adoption if upper respiratory signs remain or recur. Rupert was also diagnosed with diabetes and is currently being managed on Senvelgo. Follow-up care with the adopters veterinarian should be sought soon following adoption.

Story
Hi, I'm Ravioli! I've been a little stressed since arriving at CMHS, so I haven't been able to show off my true personality. I've never really been a big fan of other cats, and dogs have proven to be quite scary- so needless to say, the shelter is not my favorite place. In my previous home I was always friendly with people, and liked to hang out close by and get a few pets here and there. Once we're good friends, I'll even come when you call for me! I'm hoping to find a home where I'll get lots of interactive playtime (I like to hunt and pounce on wand style toys), and have a nice spot to birdwatch. My foster says "Ravioli is such a cuddle bug! She took a few days to warm up, but loves attention. She seems comfortable with being pet anywhere, but especially likes scratches behind the ears. She likes to sleep near my feet at night and occasionally move closer to my head for pets and snuggles. She kneads her paws when she is happy, even when she walks, so it looks like she is constantly tap dancing. She has also been quite playful with string toys and crinkly balls."

Little Debbie came to the shelter with her 5 kittens! She loved them so much but now that they are all adopted, she'd love to find a forever home! Little Debbie is a sweet as can be and loves head butting and rubbing up against your legs. She can be a little shy in a new environment, but with time and patience, she's sure to be a great companion!

Story
Midnight loves attention and would let you scratch it rub his forehead all day and you wouldnt stop you. I will add little bit of info for the question asking if he is good with kids. It's not that he hisses or swats. He would just end up running and hiding from a a random kid he is still used to. Sometimes he is cool with other people. It just depends on the situation. Midnight is such a loveable cat that would love a caring comforting home.
