Story
Precious, petite, purring perfection! That's Charlotte, a 4.5 pound 10-ish year old calico with beautiful, silky soft fur just right for gentle pets and ear rubs! Her little forehead is the best spot for kisses and her expressive eyes are a unique blend of amber and peridot. Her very favorite thing...once she's done walking around her space for inspection...is a soft, cozy blanket for napping. She loves her couch time and will happily allow you to share her space. She may even honor you with snuggles! If you don't see her on a blanket, the bathtub is her place of choice. She is very fond of water, and a dripping sink is the best entertainment. Charlotte is as easy to care for as she is to love. She is an independent girl who knows all of her indoor cat etiquette and conducts herself accordingly. In her foster home, she is continuing to come into her own and is beginning to seek out pets and crawl on her foster mom to nap or hang out as she gets more comfortable. She isn't bothered by typical house activity but does like her independence respected. She enjoys attention, but will let you know when she's had enough. Story
Meet Fancy! This sassy little lady was born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, also known as "Wobbly Kitten Syndrome." Cerebellar Hypoplasia is the failure of the cerebellum, which controls coordinated movement, to develop properly, and causes affected animals to "wobble" and occasionally tip over and fall when they move. Despite having some extra pep in her step, Fancy is in no pain and lives a wonderful life of playing, cuddling, and chasing her feline foster siblings. While animals with cerebellar hypoplasia can still live long, happy lives, they do need some extra care and support from their human companions, which vary on a case-by-case basis depending on the individual animal's needs and severity. For Fancy, this looks like some extra cleaning when she doesn't make it to the litterbox on time, helping her keep her sanitary area tidy, and helping manage her environment to maximize her safety. While she is largely litterbox trained in the sense of making a conscious effort to use the litterbox, Fancy frequently has accidents when she can't find the box and/or does not make it on time, and she needs a litterbox with a low entry and high walls to help her balance while doing her business. Additionally, Fancy has some food sensitivities, but is doing very well on Royal Canin's Gastrointestinal Diet food, and we recommend she stays on this as her primary food. She benefits from a raised food and water dish to help her keep her balance while eating. Fancy’s ideal home would have another playful feline companion and minimal stairs to help keep her safe. The Brave team is happy to be a resource and support while Fancy and her forever family get to know each other and adjust to life together. Story
Pugsley is a handsome 2-ish-year-old black cat who prefers to take things slow at first. New environments can be a bit overwhelming for this shy guy, but once he feels comfortable, his playfulness shines through. Pugsley is a master string-toy hunter, and will happily bat and chase it around the room for hours on end. He enjoys having his back scratched, and would love the chance to show you his “elevator butt”.  He would love a home with a feline friend to keep him company and help him blossom into the confident and playful cat he can be. Pugsley’s favorite treats are Greenies and he has perfect litter box manners. Story
Jet is a complete snuggle bug. He loves to play, but loves even more to be lounging in your arms or lap. He has a solid motor for purring and does not let it go to waste. He enjoys greeting new people in his foster home and is always up for a new adventure with his sister Midnight. He enjoys passing the time by wrestling with his sister, racing her up and down the cat tower, and sitting nicely for treats from his foster family. Jet is being fostered with cats, dogs, and children and does fine with all. He has excellent litter box manners and is an absolute joy to have around. Story
Momma Mozza was found pregnant and roaming the streets. Despite the challenges she has faced, she has retained her gentle spirit and trusting nature. Her kittens have been adopted and now she is ready to leave her past behind and embark on a new chapter filled with love, security, and happiness. We believe that our Momma Mozza would thrive in a calm and nurturing environment where she can receive the attention and affection she deserves (click here to watch what a sweet little momma she was: https://youtu.be/IEoToE1_lhI). A patient and understanding family who can provide her with the time and space she needs to adjust would be ideal. While she may initially prefer a quieter household, we have no doubt that she will become an integral part of the family once she feels safe and loved. In her foster home, she has blossomed into a loving and affectionate companion. Her maternal instincts shine through as she showers her human friends with gentle nuzzles and soft purrs, making every moment spent with her simply the best. Story
No eyes? No problem! Pros of owning a blind cat: No jumping on counters. No chasing feet. No eye infections. Cons of owning a blind cat: He can’t see. That’s all! After suffering from terrible eye infections as a kitten, Odin had a very necessary double eye enucleation and is now completely blind. However, you don’t need to be sad or feel sorry for him because he does not let that slow him down in the slightest! Odin is one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats you will ever meet. He wants absolutely nothing more than constant attention and love. He is a precious chatty boy, who makes the cutest chirps and purrs when talked to or petted. Even though he can’t see, he eagerly climbs in your lap and settles in! Odin navigates through the world incredibly well, and because of his whiskers and other acute senses, he rarely actually bumps into anything or has a hard time making his way through new spaces. It also helps that Odin is an incredibly confident and easy-going boy who is not phased by much, and takes new things in stride. He does need to be introduced to new surroundings slowly and not have any obstacles between him and his food, water, and litter box. He would do best in a smaller home with only one or two floors and an open layout. Odin also requires some patience and grace with using his claws. Since he isn’t able to see where he is going, he uses his paws to feel where he wants to get up to and mostly claws his way up rather than doing a full traditional cat leap. He does not otherwise scratch inappropriately, and in fact absolutely loves tall scratching posts, but using his claws is critical to his mobility, and he’ll need a home that will allow him to do that. Odin craves the affection and attention of other cats, and would definitely do best with a kitty companion or two. Any cats he might share a home with do need to be extra easy going and friendly though, as Odin can be a little awkward and is not able to read another cat’s body language to communicate or avoid conflict. He has not been bothered by living with dogs in his foster home, but any dogs in his forever home would need to be completely neutral and very friendly to cats, as he is not able to flee or defend himself as a sighted cat might be. The only other special considerations Odin will require is a water fountain to help him find his food and water, and tons of toys that make noise for him to play with! He is extremely playful and loves to hunt and chase and romp like any kitten good would. Consistency is the name of the game for Odin, and as long as he has the time and grace to slowly adjust, he is just like any other cat! Odin is a, unique one in a million cat, and will instantly be the center of his forever family’s whole world. Please help us find Odin’s one in a million home! Odin is a Domestic Shorthair who is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated. Adoption fee is $125 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
