Story
“Woods is the friendliest cat you will meet. He is an excellent door greeter and will come say hello to any visitors to your home. He enjoys playing and likes to roll over onto his back for tummy belly rubs.Woods has had a previous urinary blockage so he does require a prescription urinary food to keep him healthy and prevent that from happening again. In his younger years, he cohabitated well with other kitties but has recently struggled in a multi-cat environment so would be best suited in a single-cat home.” Sex: MaleBreed: Domestic ShorthairColour/Pattern: BlackBirthday: December 2019Likes: Playing, belly rubsDislikes: Other cats, being aloneAn ideal home would have: People who could give him attentionGood with cats: NoGood with dogs: UnknownGood with children: YesWould this kitty enjoy a companion?: Not other cats, but perhaps a dog

Story
Fortune is a chatty tabby whose slightly downturned eyes make her look just a little bit concerned all the time. Her life was turned upside down when she came to SCAT with her much younger friend Fate and the two are still quite bonded with one another, so would need to be adopted together at this time. Fortune is first to greet the Centre feeders, and chats with you as you get her dinner ready. She has recently decided she wants to be up on the desk where the action is and loves belly rubs (though sometimes she wants to trap your hands for kicks and soft bites you can easily pull away). Fortune can be picked up for short periods of time while you are petting her and would make a lovely companion to someone who wanted a friendly/cuddly cat. Her estimated date of birth is Dec 22, 2010

Toys with bells and wand toys are her favourites.Good with cats?: NoGood with dogs?: YesGood with children?: NoWould this kitty enjoy an animal companion?: UnsureTemperament: Mix of needy and independentIdeal type of household?: High activityHow long will it take kitty to settle into a new environment?: ImmediatelyFoster cat`s bio for their adoption profile: TikTok is not available for adoption yet. She arrived in SCAT`s care with a significant eye injury/infection that developed into uveitis. She is currently being followed closely by her vet to try and avoid the removal of her eye. TikTok is a spicy girl with lots of attitude which helped her survive on the streets from a very young age. Her foster is working with her to be more accepting of human contact and affection. She is making good progress and allows a few pets but does not want to be picked up or cuddled yet. She does like to lay right beside you touching you and is often found curled up sleeping with the dogs in her foster home. She loves playing chase and hide and seek with the dogs. This is a high energy girl that likes to be busy and lots of toys are a must to prevent her from getting into trouble. She plays extremely well independently dragging wand toys around the house and chasing balls with bells inside them. She may benefit from a cat wheel to help her burn off all the energy she has.Any special needs or traits the adopter should know about? (we may add this to the bio):

Prickly Pear came in at the same time, but was so shutdown and terrified that posting her just wasn`t appropriate. Well how things have changed since October and now it`s time to start searching for her forever family!Although she is still shy and reserved, each day is bringing surprises! Miss Pear now actively seeks pets from me, even before breakfast is served!! The resident cats do make her nervous, but then wouldn`t you get uncomfortable when someone stares at you until you finish eating??? I know that she would enjoy a friend or two, but it will take time for her to adjust to any home setting. Patience is going to be the way to this girl`s heart, could that be you?Miss Pear is nervous of men, but each day gets better. Trust is hard for this one, how we wish we could know her full story. Miss Pear is really so sweet and just needs the right family to find her. Time will be needed for her to become comfortable, and a quiet home would probably be the ideal place. If you`ve read this far, maybe this sweet girl is the one for you???Any special needs or traits the adopter should know about? (we may add this to the bio): Nervous/shy with men

Story
Houdini is a striking gray and white cat whose intelligence, compassion, and cautious nature have made him a quiet legend among those who know him. With a coat as soft as mist and eyes that seem to hold ancient wisdom, Houdini lives up to his name—not in grand escapes, but in the subtle way he slips in and out of hearts and rooms, always present yet somehow just out of reach.Houdini is looking for a quiet Human who respects his space. He is trepidatious around new people —not fearful, but reserved. Around other cats, kittens and dogs, Houdini is the one who makes peace, finds connections and plays to his heart`s content.Adopting Houdini would mean learning his language of silence, earning his trust day by day, and accepting that some hearts take their time to open. But when they do, it’s rare and real.
