HOLIDAY FOSTER NEEDED!  PAPAYA AND PICKELS What a ray of sunshine these two wonderful boys will add to your family holiday celebration!  In October they were homeless 4 month old kittens sharing life with the residents of a homeless camp.  They are now enjoying life and learning what it is like to live in a home.  Miss Amanda has been such a wonderful influence on them.  Papaya is your typical orange tabby.  He is super friendly and loves everyone.  If there is a hand out he is coming for a scratch or to be petted.  Mr. Pickels is a bit more cautious.  He is a sit on the sidelines kitty who takes everything in before he decides to participate.  Both these handsome boys need a foster home for the holidays.  They can return to Miss Amanda on 12/27 if not adopted.  We just need a loving family to give them a warm place to celebate the holiday.  Critter Cavalry will provide any supplies needed.  To help these boys please contact Vivienne at 615-943-7311 or vivienneajames@gmail.com.January 13, 2026, 1:03 pm

Story
Persimmon is approximately 1-year-old of April 2023 whose shiny coal-black coat really stands out in a crowd!  He is a sweet-tempered and sensitive type who was scared of his new surroundings at first but within the span of 2-3 weeks, he was all over the house and coming around his foster mom for attention and scratches by his tail.  Lately, he has with the cold weather he has become quite the snuggle bug wanting to lay on his person's lap with his favorite foster sister almost every time she sits down.  He hasn’t been around dogs very much but I believe with a proper introduction of a friendly dog and lots of patience, it should not be a problem.  In addition, he gets along well with other cats both young and adults.  He would certainly enjoy a similar-aged or friendly adult cat to tussle with as he enjoys spirited playtime with his foster siblings, but he also plays independently quite well.  He comes to you litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations so contact Rock City Rescue to adopt this dashing young man!August 20, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
If you didn’t see her shaved belly or spay tattoo, you’d never guess this little lady was a mama kitty!  It seems all that Gabby knows is how to play.  Gabby is about 7–8 months old and was rescued along with another pregnant kitty—likely her sister. The two had their litters here at their foster home, just days apart and raised their kittens together.  As the babies grew, Gabby spent as much time playing with them as she did caring for them—and she still hasn’t stopped!  You can often find her racing up and down the hallway with her kittens or pouncing on a wand toy (she’s always first to go after the feathers!).  Gabby is happy, friendly, and full of energy.  She greets everyone who enters her room, eager for attention and, of course, playtime.  She’s curious about everything—closed doors are her least favorite thing!  You’ll often see her little paws and nose poking under the door as she meows, “I want to play with you!”  Now that Gabby’s kittens are ready to be adopted, it’s her time, too, to find her forever home. Maybe it will be a place where she doesn’t have to share that feather wand—could that be your home? With her soft, medium-thick white fur and those adorable black patches, Gabby is impossible to resist.  She’s a fun, feisty kitten with a big heart who’s ready to fill her forever home with joy and laughter.  Feathers and all!  November 17, 2025, 8:36 pm

Story
From her foster mom...her story : Born around the end of October 2023, this lovely lady has been with me for almost a year.  She was rescued from a field and lived briefly in a resident hotel room with an older lady that saved her from the woods but simply could not support her.  She was initially very scared to be in my home, in the foster kitty room, but she quickly bonded with another CCR foster cat,Grey's Angel , that is close to her age.  And they are still buddies!  It mystifies me why they are both still here?  Just look at Cookie’s beautiful black and white markings!  You almost want to take a bite out of her!  She certainly makes me crave my favorite cookies….Oreos!  I started calling her Cookie, good Cookie, and it stuck.  She is such a good Cookie.  She has never been sick.  She has never been aggressive.  She has never been a demanding type of cat.  She just sits back and chills.  She watches me when I enter the foster room, patiently waiting for her turn for some loving.  She immediately jumps up to the top shelf of the tower, to enable me to scratch her head.  She rolls over to let me scratch her belly.  She just wants and needs just a little attention.  You barely hear a peep out of Cookie.  She is happy watching the birds in the Crepe Myrtle trees, dreaming about one day catching them.  Cookie and Grey's Angel have what I call “an old married couple’s” relationship!  They are happy and grooming each other one moment, and walking in opposite directions the next!  Then they will suddenly chase each other up the wall tower, to the top wall-shelf!  That wall-shelf has become her favorite perch.  Cookie just sits back and chills.  It seems that her only stress for the day is picking where to nap!  Relax and chill.  Cookie will be a great cat for someone that wants a quiet companion.  Do you have an older parent that could use a “subtle” companion?  Or is that you?  A cat that does not get too rowdy?  A cat that does not scream for food?  A cat that needs little attention?  Lazy?  Perhaps.  Relaxed?  Low maintenance?  Definitely.  Cookie has seldom been without another cat.  She has always been with and tolerated many other fosters in the kitty room.  But I question just how special she would become if she was the only cat in the house?  She might become your shadow!  Your best buddy!  Your Good Cookie!  I know there is a perfect forever home out there for this kitty.  Is she the Cookie for you?  Please write to critter cavalry.Rescue, at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  Please tell us where you live, city and state.  Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 18, 2026, 3:45 pm
