Who doesn’t love a sweet black cat with 4 white prissy paws and a white mustache. Tootsie is a sweet girl who I think would do best in a quiet home. Story
Freddie is one of the four kittens (Prissy, Sissy, and Tootsie) whose pregnant mother was abandoned by a neighbor. Mom started coming to my barn, I’m not sure if she had them there or brought them there to be closer to food after they were born. I just happened to see them and catch them. They were so small I couldn’t turn them loose. They have grown up in a protective environment and don’t know how to take care of themselves outside. So I am making a plea to find them inside homes. They are friendly kittens; Freddie has been a little slower to trust but he is coming around. Like his sisters, he would do well in a quieter home. Freddie is up to date vaccines, and he will be microchipped before being adopted. He is FELV & FIV negative and neutered. For more information please call Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to http;//www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application.

Mr. Webb is a beautiful, sleek, black male cat, about 12 months old. He is playful and athletic, and would love someone to play with. He enjoys attention and will sit on your lap or relax beside you, purring while you pet him. He also enjoys watching wildlife from the couch. Mr. Webb has had all vetting including vaccines, testing for FIV and FeLV, flea and tick treatment, and has been microchipped and neutered. Story
Hooduck (nickname Ducky) is a petite black cat who is a little timid, but once she gets to know you, is a real purr machine! She definitely likes to hide out until she gets to know you, but with some time will come around and be a real sweetheart like she is with her foster mom. We think a quiet home with no kids would suit her best. She is currently being fostered with Rohan but she seems to be a little intimidated by his size and outgoing personality. We really think she would prefer her own space and family. This darling little girl is already spayed, up to date on her shots, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and is microchipped and treated for fleas and ticks. She's a special little thing and we'd love her to have her own special family! For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to https://www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application.

Story
Abbie is a sleek little short-haired tabby, but you can see the family resemblance between her and her sister Maggie. Abbie is the more outgoing of the two kitties and takes really good care of her sister Maggie. They love each other dearly, and would love to be adopted together. They make a beautiful pair, and have been a great comfort to each other during the recent passing of their owner. They are young enough to still be playful, but are calm and well-behaved. They had such a fantastic home with a cat mom who loved them dearly and who they loved back unconditionally. They are in a very nice foster home, but I’m sure that they are still very confused by the sudden change in their happy lives. These girls are beautiful and easy to deal with, so if you have it in your heart to give them both a second chance at happiness, they will give back much more in love and companionship than they will require. They have both been microchipped, fully vetted, spayed, and treated for fleas, ticks, worms, etc. Please apply for them at Bedford Humane Society. They will give you so much joy in return. For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to https://www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website..Mr Kitty and Lil Momma are siblings that have spent their lives together since birth so they will need to stay together. Mr Kitty is a buff ginger and Lil Momma is deep orange. They lived with a foster family as kittens that had two other cats and a dog. That was in 2018 so it's been some time since they have been tested to see how they do around other cats but would recommend no dogs. Clearly they adore each other :)  Mr Kitty is extremely lovable. The worst thing he does is walk away after getting lots of pets. He loves to be petted and get belly rubs. Lil Momma is a sweetheart when she warms up but she definitely would need time to acclimate to a new home. She isn’t a lap cat but does enjoy getting brushed and it works out well since her brother enjoys all the attention anyway! Mr. Kitty is usually in the forefront and his sister will follow suit over time.   Neither have ever bitten or scratched anyone but they would need time to adjust to the change of a new environment.  The last several years, they have enjoyed life at the office visiting with clients who come in and getting attention from the workers.  They will flourish in a quiet setting with older children or no children. They have always been inside cats since they were rescued so would need an indoor only home Both kitties are up to date on all vetting and have been combo tested for feline aids and leukemia and are negative. In full discourse - these kitties are NOT a fan of getting in a carrier so the owner / foster has *always* utilized a mobile vet who will come to their home to vaccinate. Any future owner should be aware this is not likely to change - so they’ll need to be prepared to utilize a similar option for routine vet care.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. April 25, 2024, 10:01 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We have healthy feral and semi-feral cats in need of new outdoor homes! These cats make ideal residents for farms, horse stables, barns, and other suitable locations with outdoor shelter options. And they help with rodent control! The cats will all be spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, and ear-tipped. The cats will require a period of adjustment to acclimate to their new outdoor homes, and we will gladly provide guidance and assistance with the relocation process. Barn cat adopters are required to fill out the same application as our regular cat adopters, however, we are much more flexible and less stringent with the application review process. Barn cat applications are sent to our TNR Program Manager following an initial review. We offer barn cats for no adoption fee, but we request a donation. This is because so many of these cats are unable to be tamed and therefore cannot be adopted as indoor pets. By placing them in a setting where they are safe and fed, you are giving them the best home possible for their circumstances; you are literally saving their lives. Many of these cats are in danger, unwanted, uncared for, are displaced or no longer have anyone to take care of them. They need a safe haven.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? She is not happy indoors and will try to escape, but she loves blankets and toys....just watch that she doesn't eat them! She does not seem to be fond of other pets or children, so we are looking for an outdoor home with no young children, though we suspect that much of her attitude is due to being indoors when she would prefer to be outside. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jolene has been through a lot, but she is the sweetest girl! She was rescued by a good Samaritan after she had been hit by a car; her injuries necessitated the amputation of her tail, but she has healed well and is ready to find her forever home. The only remaining issues from the accident are that she needs her diet and stools monitored to make sure her stools are soft and easy to pass; her pelvis was narrowed from the physical trauma, and it is very difficult (likely impossible) for her to pass large, hard stools. She seems to do best with cheaper, less digestible food (NOT grain free), both canned and dry, and a daily regimen of Miralax and Lactulose. Jolene's adoption fee is $75.
