Morticia is a beautiful 3-year old female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on May 20, 2023 along with her 3-month old kitten (Wednesday) and two one-year old male kitties (Gomez and Pugsley). Morticia has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. This lovely mother kitty is understandably frightened being in a small cage when she enjoyed the freedom of her very own home for several years. Morticia and her kitten Wednesday are sharing a cage so that they may provide comfort/security for each other. Momma and baby dearly love each other. Morticia was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on May 24, 2023. she weighed 6 lbs that day. Morticia was spayed on May 30, 2023 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 6.04 lbs that day. Since Morticia has been spayed, she is ready to find a loving home either through adoption or rescue. Cinnamon Twist is a beautiful 3-year old female kitty who was found on Second Street in Marietta Ohio on October 29, 2023 after she had been hit by an automobile. Fortunately for this sweet cat, a compassionate Good Samaritan acted quickly and brought her to HSOV and the safety of our shelter. Cinnamon Twist has an unusual combination of colors/patterns. She has a pretty face with gray/beige/white markings which are characteristic of a dilute calico kitty. She has a brown/bronze coat and a long ringed tail which is more characteristic of a Torbie/Tabby kitty. Our kind HSOV Kennel Techs gave Cinnamon preliminary first-aid care that afternoon/evening, and she was taken to one of wonderful local veterinarians the following day. X-rays showed that Cinnamon had suffered a fractured pelvis and had a broken femoral bone. She is back in our shelter where she will be resting comfortably with pain medications for the next two weeks. Hopefully she will be able to undergo surgery at a later date. We are posting this beautiful girl's pictures on Petfinder and Adoptapet as well as our HSOV Facebook pages in hopes that she has a loving family who is looking for her and will know she is safely in our shelter.

Imani is a sweet 4-year old female kitty who was surrendered to HSOV on October 31, 2023 because her owner had relocated/moved because of his employment and was unable to keep Imani. Imani has a black short smooth coat, a small patch of white on her chest, a long tail, and a beautiful face with large golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long whiskers. This little lady has a calm, quiet personality and was quite content to relax and 'look pretty' for the camera when these photos were taken on November 12, 2023. Imani is up-to-date on vaccinations and has already been spayed. She weighed 7.2 lbs on November 8, 2023. Imani has been front-paw declawed, so she would be required to be an exclusive indoor-only kitty. UPDATE: Imani was combo tested on November 22, 2023 and is negative for feline leukemia and FIV. Sassy is a cute 6-month old female kitten who was surrendered by her family on December 30, 2023 because they were no longer able to give her the care that she needed and deserved. Sassy was accompanied by her companion (Bitty) who had also shared her home. Sassy has a white short smooth coat with brown tabby markings, a long ringed tail, and an adorable face with emerald green eyes, a wide brown stripe on her nose/forehead, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. This little playgirl has a fun-loving disposition and an affectionate, outgoing personality. Sassy is always ready for fun-and-games (and looks for an opportunity to leap from her cage and engage our kennel techs in a merry game of hide-and-go-seek. Her family told us that Sassy is good with children as well as other animals (but didn't specify whether that included both cats and dogs or other small animals). Sassy has been kept indoors and is litterbox trained. Sassy was given vaccinations, Pyrantel wormer, and flea treatment on January 2, 2024. She weighed 6 lbs that day. Sassy was experiencing some skin issues when she entered our shelter (which may be allergy related), so our kennel techs are keeping a close eye on her .. And she will be examined by one of our wonderful local veterinarians if needed. Sassy will be spayed in the near future and will be ready to find a fabulous home either through adoption or rescue.
