Story
Morgan is a sweet 4-year-old pup who truly just wants to be by your side. Whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure, she’s happiest simply being wherever you are.
She’s a joy to take out and about - Morgan walks nicely on a leash and rides calmly in the car, making her an easy companion for errands or road trips. At home, she’s been learning her routine and has started to let her people know when she needs to go out, showing great progress with her house manners.
Morgan has a gentle, easygoing personality. She gets along well with cats and seems like she would do just fine with other dogs, too. She’s comfortable in her crate but also enjoys lounging nearby - especially in the den, where she’ll quietly settle into her bed while her foster mom works.
One of Morgan’s most endearing traits is her calm nature. She’s not a barker (at least, she hasn’t been so far), and she brings a peaceful presence to any home. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will happily stick by your side, Morgan could be the perfect match.

Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative.
Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above.
Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview.
Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment.
Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets.
