Meet Austin! Austin is a handsome 2-year-old, 60-pound Dutch Shepherd who came to us after arriving at ACCT as a stray. This sweet boy is ready for a fresh start with a family to call his own. Austin is the definition of a gentle soul. During his evaluation, he was much more interested in being close to his people than posing for pictures- we actually had a hard time getting photos because he kept curling up beside us for snuggles. If you're looking for a Velcro dog who loves affection, Austin is your guy. He's a pleasure to walk on leash, with nice manners and no pulling. He takes treats gently and is eager to spend time with his people. Rather than chasing toys, Austin enjoyed exploring the yard at his own pace, taking in all the interesting smells and calmly greeting another dog through the fence. After his little adventure around the yard, Austin's favorite place was right next to his person, soaking up pets and attention. He's affectionate, easygoing, and has a quiet, loving nature that makes him incredibly easy to fall for. Austin is ready to leave shelter life behind and find a home where he can enjoy long walks, cozy cuddles, and all the love he's been waiting for. Meet Preston! At just 1 year old and 55 pounds, Preston is a handsome Dutch Shepherd with a zest for life that is impossible not to admire. Preston arrived at ACCT Philly with a severe traumatic injury to his hind leg and was quickly transferred to our rescue for specialized care. Unfortunately, the damage was too extensive, and his leg had to be amputated. The amazing part? Preston didn't let that slow him down for even a second. This resilient young dog runs, plays, explores, and enjoys life with the same enthusiasm as any four-legged dog. Happy, energetic, and always ready for an adventure, Preston approaches every day with an infectious spirit that reminds everyone around him to celebrate the little things. Like many young shepherds, Preston is still working on his manners. He can get excited and pull on leash or hop up to ask for hugs, but he's smart, eager to learn, and responds well to guidance. With continued training and structure, this boy has all the potential to be an exceptional companion. Story
Kylo is a loving and energetic dog. My wife and I have had him his whole life. He’s 5 years old. He’s trained with basic obedience, leash training, and recall. Kylo is a BIG herding dog. He herds everyone and anything. The issue my wife and I have had with him is he herds our 13 month old son. He is non aggressive however we were unable to break him from his herding habits and due to our current living situation we are unable to completely have them separated. It breaks our heart to have him rehomed because he’s is such a loving dog and good with people and most other dogs. We are devastated however we want to do what is best for him and feel like we’ve really let him down.

Story
We got Zuko a year ago when he was just two months old. I care for my three young grandsons (after the passing of my daughter/their mother) and thought it would be a good gift. My 85 year old mother lives with us and she has asthma and COPD so is actually allergic to him. He sheds alot and the boys don’t keep up with brushing him. He’s a sweet dog and listens when it’s quiet. When it’s noisy and lots of other people around he gets excited and doesn’t listen as much. Overall we are sad to have to give him away. We would love for him to find a loving home. He goes out every 4 hours (4 times a day) and eats twice a day with two snacks (usually apples, sweet potatoes or a dog biscuit).
