Meet Austin! Austin is a handsome 2-year-old, 60-pound Dutch Shepherd who came to us after arriving at ACCT as a stray. This sweet boy is ready for a fresh start with a family to call his own. Austin is the definition of a gentle soul. During his evaluation, he was much more interested in being close to his people than posing for pictures- we actually had a hard time getting photos because he kept curling up beside us for snuggles. If you're looking for a Velcro dog who loves affection, Austin is your guy. He's a pleasure to walk on leash, with nice manners and no pulling. He takes treats gently and is eager to spend time with his people. Rather than chasing toys, Austin enjoyed exploring the yard at his own pace, taking in all the interesting smells and calmly greeting another dog through the fence. After his little adventure around the yard, Austin's favorite place was right next to his person, soaking up pets and attention. He's affectionate, easygoing, and has a quiet, loving nature that makes him incredibly easy to fall for. Austin is ready to leave shelter life behind and find a home where he can enjoy long walks, cozy cuddles, and all the love he's been waiting for. Preston arrived at ACCT Philly with a severe traumatic injury to his hind leg and was quickly transferred to our rescue for specialized care. Unfortunately, the damage was too extensive, and his leg had to be amputated. The amazing part? Preston didn't let that slow him down for even a second. This resilient young dog runs, plays, explores, and enjoys life with the same enthusiasm as any four-legged dog. Happy, energetic, and always ready for an adventure, Preston approaches every day with an infectious spirit that reminds everyone around him to celebrate the little things. Like many young shepherds, Preston is still working on his manners. He can get excited and pull on leash or hop up to ask for hugs, but he's smart, eager to learn, and responds well to guidance. With continued training and structure, this boy has all the potential to be an exceptional companion. Kylo is a loving and energetic dog. My wife and I have had him his whole life. He’s 5 years old. He’s trained with basic obedience, leash training, and recall. Kylo is a BIG herding dog. He herds everyone and anything. The issue my wife and I have had with him is he herds our 13 month old son. He is non aggressive however we were unable to break him from his herding habits and due to our current living situation we are unable to completely have them separated. It breaks our heart to have him rehomed because he’s is such a loving dog and good with people and most other dogs. We are devastated however we want to do what is best for him and feel like we’ve really let him down.

Willow - Sweet & Mellow - potty trained, spayed, vaccinated and good with everyone! A delight!! Meet this beautiful girl who is finally getting the second chance she deserves! At approximately 3–4 years old and 50 pounds, this sweet girl has a story that will break your heart, but her future is looking so bright! She was found abandoned in the Dorado area of Puerto Rico, heartbreakingly skinny and desperate for someone to love her. When rescuers arrived, she couldn't wait to be saved. It was almost as if she knew her life was finally about to change. Since being rescued, she has gained much-needed weight, grown in confidence, and blossomed into the most wonderful dog! She is incredibly gentle, intelligent, calm, and SO loving! She gets along beautifully with other dogs and does wonderfully with everyone she meets. She has such a sweet, peaceful personality and truly just wants to love and be loved. While she's come such a long way, we know her past wasn't always kind to her. She's a sensitive soul who deserves a home filled with patience, encouragement, and gentle voices. We would love to find her a peaceful, loving family where she'll never have to worry about being yelled at or treated harshly again. She's not a difficult dog or one who needs a lot of work. In fact, she's quite the opposite! She's a wonderful, easygoing companion who just deserves people who will treat her with the same kindness she gives so freely. She will be fully vetted before adoption and is ready to find the family who will love her forever. After a life that started with abandonment and uncertainty, all we want for this beautiful girl is a lifetime of soft beds, gentle hands, kind words, and unconditional love. Willow is currently in PR and is available for FaceTime meet and greets! She will be sent to a home in the continental US (adoption fee covers transport) whenever a foster opens or she finds her forever home.
