Story
FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED Kyoto is a 1yr old, 60lb Dutch Shepherd mix. He is in desperate need of a dog savvy foster or adopter to help him learn manners and how to be a calmer guy. Kyoto has a lot of energy and would benefit from another playful dog and some mental stimulation. He is not the brightest when it comes to social cues from other dogs and just wants to play, play, play even when they other dog has had enough. He is good in his crate. Typical of a lot of shepherds he is slow to warm up and would love to find his furever person/people to devote all his love and loyalty to. Kyoto should not go to a home with small children since he will accidentally knock them down and while he is fine with small dogs we do not know how he is with cats. Kyoto is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines and preventatives with an adoption fee of $400. If you can give this guy a a place to crash until his furever family finds him or you hope to be that furever family please fill out an application below: https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-foster-application https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-applicationJuly 26, 2024, 12:42 pm

Story
Maggie is a 7 or 8 year old dutch shepherd. She was our neighbors dog that was forced to get rid of her because of relationship issues between the parents. I am now fostering Maggie until we can find her a new good fit home. Maggie needs a loving family or individual that has no other dogs and is willing work with her. She has been neglected at home by being left for hours upon hours at a time.

Story
Kali is a very very interesting name... I was named after a Hindu goddess, like Mother Nature?? WOW, I need to cash in on this amazing name, right?? Nah, I hope that my name, which is kind of cute- GETS ME A HOME!! I mean, have you seen me? I am a brindly, gray/fawn GODDESS of love and soft fur :) I was tied to the fence at the rescue, with my friend Zeus Boy (he has been adopted already) one early Sunday morning. We were immediately taken in by the rescue, it was a very sad letter left with us on the fence.... we were very loved but our family had to move in with a parent and the parent's dogs were fighting us and hurting us :( So they did the best they could to find us a safe place to find great homes..... now I am the ONLY ONE LEFT to find that AMAZING HOME@!! I am a beautiful shepherd girl, my soft fur is so brindly and colorful you will gaze at me for hours :D I am a young gal, had heartworms and was already treated for it, so I am just ready to be YOURS :) ADOPT ME, must love and know Shepherds- I am a wonderful example of the breed. You will have the BEST friend for life!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Please contact Jim at 410-441-0866 (jim@fur-everpaws.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Elkton, MD. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 410-920-3166 (text or call) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 July 26, 2024, 5:07 pm

Story
ABOUT RUSTY Looking for a loyal, lovable Shepherd? Meet Rusty! This handsome boy is a 5-year-old Shepherd mix that LOVES people! Rusty came to HAP when he was found as a stray. We attempted to contact his owners, but unfortunately, they did not come for him. Despite being in a new place, Rusty quickly made friends with our staff and volunteers. In typical shepherd nature, he is very talented at holding a conversation and letting you know what's on his mind. He'll do anything for a game a fetch, and yes, he brings the ball back every time! He's a very smart boy and motivated to learn more tricks. Rusty is leash-trained, house-trained, and knows basic commands. If you're looking for a big boy, with an even bigger heart, then come meet Rusty! While he's only been with us for a short time, he has been out in our Doggy Day Out program nearly a dozen volunteers already! Here's what our volunteers have to say about him: "We had a wonderful day with Rusty yesterday. We took him to visit my parents and he really warms up to people quickly. He has such a pleasant demeanor. We proceeded to take him to the pet store to pick out a treat. He was so well behaved, didn't grab anything and sniffed around the store. We came home to play fetch then relaxed for a bit. He is extremely well trained and terrific with commands. Then we took him for a nice walk. He doesn't pull at all and listens to commands while walking. Rusty would make an excellent addition to any family. He is very loyal to people, extremely gentle and loves to play. This was our second time taking Rusty out and he is just a great dog." - Beth "My friend and I got to take Rusty out today and he is just the sweetest boy! We went for a long walk, and then headed home to play in the backyard. Rusty walked amazing on leash, didn't pull once and stayed right by my side! When we got back, he spent over an hour loving the chance to run around and play fetch. He's really good at always bringing the ball back, he quickly realized if he dropped it we'd throw it again. When we were headed back, he zonked out in the car after all the running around and barely woke up for his pup cup. He was such a sweet boy to spend the day with!" - Kristiana **Rusty is seeking a home as the only pet! ***Rusty is currently in foster with children, doing amazing! He is available for adoption by-appointment! If you are interested in adopting Rusty, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
