Story
hi Luca, this good boy is a 2 year old Belgian shepherd mix. He was surrendered to the local animal control shelter as he was abandoned by his owner with a family member who could not keep him or provide for him. He is 72 lbs. Luca is such a good boy! Typical of any shepherd mixes what have been through lot of changes in a short time, he was at first a bit nervous and unsure with us but is quickly adjusting. He does well with our volunteers, is interested in the outdoors and is just fun boy. He is an active dog that is looking for an equally active home. Luca prefers to be your one and only dog. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com His adoption fee is $400. Story
Meet Joey! Joey is a 7‑month‑old half Golden Retriever, half Dutch Shepherd pup with the brains, drive, and charm to prove it. Both of his parents come from professional working lines in the private sector, so it’s no surprise this boy is smart, fast, focused, and full of potential. From an “oops” litter of 11 puppies, Joey is one of the last two still waiting for his perfect match. And trust us, you don’t want to miss out on this pup. Joey is active, loyal, eager to learn, and bursting with energy. He’s the kind of dog who wants a purpose, thrives on adventure, and absolutely shines when he’s given something to do. If you’re an experienced owner, an active family, or a handler looking for your next partner, Joey is ready to level up with you. He’s playful, people‑loving, and already showing all the hallmarks of a dog who will grow into an incredible companion. And yes, he’s also gorgeous. Joey has beautiful dark fur, a sleek athletic build, and the kind of expressive face that makes it impossible not to smile back at him. If you’re searching for a fun, high‑drive, endlessly rewarding pup to grow with, train with, and bond with, Joey might just be your new best friend. Apply now to meet your match and maybe your new training partner, hiking buddy, or canine co-worker. Please start with the adoption application at www.phoenixanimalrescue.com He will come vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500. Meet Whiskey - The Best Boy Youve Been Waiting For Whiskey is a 1-year-old Belgian Shepherd with all the traits that make this breed so special - smart, social, and always ready for action. He came to us through a partner rescue after a Lancaster breeder decided to surrender him rather than provide care for a paw laceration he had sustained. Thankfully, he was quickly rescued, received the care he needed, and made his way into our hands, and now he's ready for his fresh start. True to his breed, Whiskey is intelligent and thrives when he has both mental and physical outlets. He's been doing wonderfully with everyone here at the rescue, showing off his friendly personality and eagerness to connect. He's the kind of dog who wants to be part of your world whether that means training sessions, outdoor adventures, or just being your loyal companion. Whiskey will do best in a home that understands and appreciates the needs of a Belgian Shepherd. He's looking for an experienced adopter who can keep his mind engaged, his body active, and continue helping him reach his full potential. In the right home, this boy is truly going to shine. If you've been waiting for an incredible, devoted, and fun-loving companion, don't let this opportunity pass you by. Whiskey is ready to be your everything. He will come neutered, vaccinated, 4dx tested and microchipped. To apply, visit www.phoenixanimalrescue.com Adoption fee: $500 Phoenix Animal Rescue Chester Springs, PA Kennel License #5152

Story
hi Thomas, this stunning guy is a 2 year old Belgian Shepherd. He found himself in trouble when his owner surrendered him to a local animal control shelter. Thankfully. we were able to step in and help him. The previous owner for Thomas claims that he has lived with kids but he was too big for them so he brought him to a shelter. In the shelter, Thomas was very stressed and nervous, not surprising, so he was difficult to handle. Thankfully, our resident Mal expert Bruno was able to make a trip to the shelter to assess him. After taking him out of the kennel, he had no trouble handling him so he brought him to the rescue. While high energy, he has zero drive for actual work. He had little interest in regular toys, and none in bite toys. Thomas is relying purely on his absolutely stunning, wolf-like looks to be adored by his future family. He wants to be the trophy pet that will get the enjoyed the good, spoiled, active life. Having said all that, he is looking for a male-only home that is experienced with the breed. While he has lived with kids before, due to the fearful and anxious behavior he has showed in the shelter both at ACCT and our rescue, he will not be placed with children. Thomas has also shown reactionary behavior to women and needs a male only home. He will make a great pet for the right person who is looking for a non-working mal. He would need to meet any resident dogs. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com His adoption fee is $300. Story
Meet Kovu! Kovu is a 8‑month‑old Golden Retriever / Dutch Shepherd mix who is growing up into a truly impressive young dog. Like his brother Joey, Kovu comes from professional working‑line parents, and it shows—this boy is intelligent, driven, athletic, and built for an active, engaged life. One of an accidental litter of 11 puppies, Kovu is now one of the last still waiting for his perfect match. While many of his siblings have already found homes, Kovu has been steadily maturing and coming into his own, and it’s clear he’s ready for the next chapter. Kovu is active, loyal, and eager to learn, with the kind of focus and work ethic that shepherd lovers truly appreciate. His shepherd‑savvy volunteers have been working closely with him, and he has been making wonderful progress, growing more confident and polished every day. He thrives with structure, consistency, and engagement—and it’s high time this special boy finds himself an experienced, shepherd‑loving home that understands what dogs like Kovu need to succeed. He’s playful, people‑oriented, and deeply rewarding to work with. Kovu wants a job, a routine, and a human partner who enjoys training, enrichment, and building a real bond. With the right guidance, he’s going to be an exceptional companion. And yes—he’s handsome too. Kovu has a sleek, athletic build, rich dark coloring, and an expressive face that reflects both his intelligence and his growing confidence. If you’re an experienced dog owner, particularly someone who loves shepherds or working breeds, and you’re looking for a young dog to invest in, grow with, and truly partner with, Kovu is ready. Apply now to meet your match and maybe your next training partner, adventure buddy, or lifelong best friend. Please start with the adoption application at www.phoenixanimalrescue.com Kovu will come vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. June 30, 2026, 5:38 pm
