Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Olivia!Olivia came to PRBJ from an overcrowded out of state rescue.  She was brought in by the Pilots for Paws which bring dogs from rural places to larger cities to help them find a home.  Unfortunately, Olivia had been waiting at this rescue since 2024 when she came in with her litter of pups.  He pups were adopted, while Olivia sat and waited.  She loves people and we are working with her on reactivity to other dogs.  It seems when she is out and about that she does well, but when in the kennels, she is not fond of any dog. At this time we are requesting a home with no other dogs.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2026, 9:26 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dina grew up in the rescue and is  housetrained. She picks up commands quickly, we are still in the process of haing her be comfortable in a harness and on a walk.     She loves to chew on toys, with some standing up to her better than others, but plush ones don’t stand a chance. She’s very active and needs another dog to play with. While she can be bossy, she backs down if the other dog asserts itself. Dina loves playing tag and is quite good at it.    She obeys when using hand signals, respects a water bottle, and has learned not to beg at the table. She hasn’t been around children, and it’s unclear if she’s ever even seen one. She is very loyal to her person, she loves to cuddle up to you and get attention or she will just hang out on the couch to watch tv.While leash training is a work in progress, Dina would thrive in a foster or foster-to-adopt home..  If you are seeking a dog to welcome into your family,  we invite you to consider her. While she may need time to feel comfortable with new people, her loving heart ensures she does not stay distant for long. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tuck is still very shy around strangers, but once he gets to know them, he improves. He will need time to adjust to a new home and requires a household without children. He is housetrained and has learned not to beg at the table. No matter who is eating or where, he won’t approach unless invited. He has a big dog bark and will alert you when strangers are near. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loving and just wants affection—belly rubs are his favorite. He is also a talker and a groaner. All these characteristocs make him an adorable boy. He’s still resistant to the leash, but we believe he will thrive with the right foster family. Fenced yard is required and another dog is a must. Foster to adopt home and will be neutered before adoption.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 7, 2026, 12:21 am

Story
Carly is an 8 year old German Shepherd girl, looking for a loving home she so much deserves. For most of her life, Carly knew what it was like to be a cherished family member, She lived inside the home, was loved and was part of the family. Sadly, everything changed when a new baby arrived. She was pushed outside, no longer included in the family she had always known, and eventually surrendered toa shelter. Shortly after, she found safety with our rescue. Despite the heartbreak she had endured, Carly has remained incredibly sweet, gentle and loving. She adores people and simply wants a soft bed, a kind family and someone to love her for the rest of her life. Currently, she has some minor hair loss on her back which we are taking care of and she needs to gain some weight but she is ready to find her loyal companion. She is goo with other dogs and very friendly with strangers. Her adoption fee is $200. Please, note that we only cover certain areas of Florida (listed on our website at www.dbgsdrescue.org, along with adoption requirements). Story
Meet one of our newest members of the rescue. Dori is a 2.5 year old German Shepherd mix and she was rescued from a shelter in Fernandina Beach, FL. While we are still getting to know her, she's already making a incredible first impression. Dori has settled into her foster home wonderfully and shares it with another adult male dog, whom she gets along with perfectly. Her easygoing nature and friendly personality have made the transition smooth. One of her best qualities is how much she loves people. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate and welcomes everyone with a wagging tail and a happy heart. Dori is always happy to meet new friends. As we continue to learn more about her, one thing is certain: her heart is full of love and she is ready to share that love with her forever family. Her adoption fee is $250.
