MEET MAX THE PERFECT ONE! He is a 6-year-old Dutch Shepard mix with beautiful bright dreamy eyes who thinks he’s human and loves everyone that he meets. His sister and her puppies were pulled from the shelter, and he was left behind for two years and became the house pet of the shelter, and everyone adored him, but it is time for him to find a new home. He has a gentle and kind soul. Spent time with a 87 year old mother and was very calm and respectful. He doesn’t need another doggy to be happy but acclimates if there was another doggy. He doesn’t need an active family just a family that wants a doggy to love. He thinks he’s 10 lbs. but weighs 60 lbs. He extremely friendly to other dogs and loves children. He walks perfect on a leash and loves to talk long walks and does not pull responds well to directions. His foster family loves him dearly and would love the opportunity to share more stories about MAX! Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. I was picked up as a stray along with my puppy! My puppy has found a home, but now it`s my turn. I`m an affectionate, well-behaved gal, but I`d rather not be around smaller kids. I raised a puppy, did a great job, but I`m ready to retire from young ones! I`m ready to be the baby in your life!

Story
I was transferred in from a high risk facility in a southern state, along with seven other dogs. I spent a few days being fostered at a boarding facility, and then I moved in at KCHF once there was a kennel open! I am a super friendly guy, and I get along great with other dogs! I currently go outside in a playgroup with a pretty high energy male dog, and we have the greatest time running and playing. I would do well in a home with kids as well! I am extremely treat motivated, so I would also be pretty easy to train. I am eager to learn!

Story
Meet Wednesday (but my foster family calls me Hope)! 🐾 Breed: Dutch Shepherd Mix with precious big ears! Age: 12 Months Size: Medium Gender: Female About Me: Hi, I’m Wednesday, but my foster family calls me Hope because I have bright future ahead of me! I’m an 11-month-old, 40 lb Dutch Shepherd Mix with a heart full of love and a desire to please. I am a beautiful brindle color with short hair. I started my journey in a shelter in Texas where I was found as a stray, and at first, I was understandably a bit frightened and cautious in new environments. I’ve had to learn adjust to new people and surroundings but once I feel comfortable and secure I will settle in. I don’t like loud noises or people, this reminds me of my days as a stray. I am still young, so I’m learning more every day. I promise I’ll bring plenty of joy, affection and tail wags into your life. My favorite time of the day is when my foster family joins me on the couch so I can snuggle up with them. I just want to be near my humans! I get along great with my 4 canine foster siblings (both big and small) and am thriving in a home where I can interact and play with them. I am submissive to the others in the pack and have shown no aggression towards them. There is also a cat in the house that I love to chase when he walks by. He’s not interested in getting to know me though and so I move on quickly to other things. I’ve become an expert leash walker during my time up North. I love our walks and am always up for a new adventure! I am kennel trained and spend my day waiting for my foster family to come home from work while enjoying a chew toy or bone. At night I slept in my crate but now they have given me the option to sleep in the bed with the other dogs of the house and I sleep like a baby! I am mostly potty trained. I am young and used to living on the run so I do have occasional accidents in the house. I do always find the potty pad if I need to and if you pay attention to my cues, I let you know that I need to go out. I’m also great at riding in the car, I’ll curl right up and you won’t hear a peep out of me. I have not been in the presence of young children so I’ve not been exposed to quick movements or loud noises. My foster mom thinks that as long as they were kind and gentle to me, I would do fine. I am spayed and up to date on my vaccinations. What I’m Looking For: I’m looking for a loving family who can help me continue to grow and learn. A home with another dog(s) would be fun for me and I’ve done well fitting in with the dogs in my foster home. A fenced-in yard would be a bonus, I don’t have that right now but this would allow me to run around and get rid of some of my puppy energy. I’m more than happy to go for walks and play outside with you. I’m still a young girl, so I’ll need some patience and guidance as I adjust to my new family, but I’m eager to please and learn everything I can. My foster mom thinks I am super smart! I may have had a rough start, but I’m grateful to have been brought up from the shelter and given a new chapter on my young life. I am looking for someone who will be patient, kind and willing to give me the time to adjust to my new home. Although I am a little shy at first, I promise to be a loving, loyal companion and will quickly become a cherished member of your family. Interested in meeting me? If you think we’d be a great match, please contact Safe Haven Rescue to learn more about me and schedule a meet-and-greet. I can’t wait to meet my forever family!
